Today while roaming in sector 10, came across a new place called ROJO TOMATE, this is a newly opened wood fired pizzeria near coal depot. Today they were not operating so cannot tell you how the taste and hospitality was, but the interiors were amazing....

Pizza here is really good. Authentic Italian style. Very different from what most places serve and what most people have grown up eating. They serve Great mojitos minty and lime-y. Garlic bread is below average (won't recommend).

Their pizzas are simply amazing and what a selection of authentic Italian pizzas they offer! Wood fired oven, hand tossed from freshly made dough, the pizzas look and taste scrumptious! I really liked their tiramisu and their tiramisu shake. This place is a must visit and you would keep coming back for more!

Very good potential and on the right track but majorly flawed...

I just walked in here for the first time today and suffice to say, will be the last for a very long time. I was in the area planning to go to casa Bella but opted to try out this new pizza joint. When I walked in I felt very confused. There was just tables and the floor stepped awkwardly down. There was nothing in the entrance, just dead space. The staff showed us a spot to sit in. The moment I was inside I could smell instensly, the scent of Tabasco. The front of house failed to greet me and my guest and presented a sad printed black and white menu Staples together. It felt like being handed documents in an office more than receiving a menu in a restaraunt. I could see a speaker in the resteraunts but it was not being used. The ambience was very loud and uncomfortable. I flipped through the menu being impressed by their "Spanish Fire" pizza. It promised a pizza topped with their fresh tomato sauce (Which is a fancy term for saying that they have some high quality and expensive crushed tomatoes for their sauce). Buffalo milk mozzarella cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, Parma ham (Some exotic cured pork), capers (I thought it was the fish 'caper' which is an impressive ingredient). And topped with parmesan cheese. We waited for a surprisingly small time as their blistering hot fire oven cooks the pizza quickly.

When it arrived I realised that it lacked the caper fish which was in fact just the beans from the "Caper" plant. It also lacked the sun-dried tomatoes and the parmesan cheese. The pizza was also dissapointingly lacking in toppings and the crust was soft. The pizza was also not seasoned with salt Asand pepper which are the most basic seasonings and the most important, having no seasoning means that the chefs don't care. As I took their pepper mill from their caddy to season the pizza myself I realised that the condiment containers was covered with some sort of oil. Pressing on, it was a mistake to use Parma ham on the pizza as the hot oven completely dried the ham out leaving us with Chewy bits of ham. The "fresh tomato sauce" was nothing but tomatoes. They didn't care enough to add any olive oil, fresh garlic, basil or any other fresh herbs or seasoning. The cornice however was very impressive. The cornice was crispy and fluffy however very boring because it did not have any olive oil, or any compound butter smeared. It was so lacking as if it were made with hate. Also we did not like the staff, they seemed ameteur and one staff member started to talk about a coffee order we placed which was having problems because of a power outage. Overall the staff had a good vibe but was ultimately dissapointing. All of these problems can be solved. I, a man who likes food and lacks any other experience was able to fix all of these problems. But it was very sad that the owner has not given time to fix them.

1. Add all of the actual ingredients promised in the menu

2. Pump up the sauce by adding more ingredients to it.

3. Invest in a pizza steel to cook the crust so it's not a dissapointingly floppy and soft roti.

4. Smear the cornices with some form of compound butter or olive oil.

4. Season the food, I should not be telling you the A B Cs of cooking this is extremely pathetic.

5. Play some relaxing jazz or similar music.

6. Train the staff to be more attentive.

7. Fill the entrance with decor.

Overall it is not recommended however it has potential but unless it fixes the above mentioned problems don't go.

Had Marinara pizza and Italy in a box pizza , both were delicious. Probably one of the best pizzas I ve had in my life and most definitely the best you can get in Chandigarh.
The crust was just perfect- little bit chewy, crispy and tasty at the same time.
The sauce was rightly sweet and tangy.
Cheese and toppings were in the right amount.

Highly disappointing place ... just minting out money from everyone s pocket saying we are always sold out on medium sizes and forcing everyone to buy large size only .. not once not twice , with me it happened over 5 times ...

I understand the food industry has suffered a loss in times of COVID but that doesn t means that you have a burn a hole in your regular customers pocket ... I feel so disappointed that despite making good pizzas this place will not stay in market for a longer time as they don t know how to retain their own customer ..

special mention on their managers RAHUL and AYUSH who don t even have a decency to manage their hospitality and behaviour.

I Was given horribly cold pizza and it wasnt even the one I ordered and that was definitely not worth 800 but from what I have heard the place is really good so I will give it one more shot

I'm italian chef , working in india since 3 years , and when I discover this place with friends, I become lucky and felt back at home for the first time. If you want to experience a real italian pizza then this the place where to go. Staff is helpful and kind , ambience is small and home feelings, overall the best pizza I had in india. They use imported ingredients from the flour Caputo blue, and from pelati tomato, fresh mozzarella and amazing italian basil fresh from the plant. Guys keep up the good italian food and thanks for respect fully our tradition and culture. 10/10
