Love this place. Took my 6 kids there for a "field trip". Very hands on and interactive. We spent the day at the upper levels. Get some pie and cookies, they are amazing! I really appreciate the attention and effort these folks invest for such a great experience.

Our family went to apple pick and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of things offered to do! Sheep, horses, multiple apple orchards to choose from, beautiful scenery, photo worthy backgrounds, holiday entertainment, barn dancing, BBQ Pit, restaurant and bakery and much more!! Definitely worth the visit!!
This is my favorite Ranch in Oak Glen to visit! They have the Hawks Head Tavern, which has delicious food. Lots of delicious baked goods and pies here. This pumpkin patch is my favorite as well as picking apples, pears and berries when they are in season. They do different dinner shows each month which are very enjoyable! As a whole there's so many different activities and things to do here. Great for children and adults alike!
Really dusty so be ready to get dirty but the rest of the experience is good. Nice scenery and staff were nice as well. Good place for family. A lot to do in this area.
We really have a fantastic time when we go here. I have been here probably close to a dozen times on field trips with my kids and it never disappoints for the fun and education. The food is good here as well but nothing to freak out about. The pies however, are amazing. The apple pie is deliscious but the 5 pound apple pie is just honestly too much apple and not enough crust so go with the regular. We have participated in the revolutionary war tour, the gold rush, and the civil war and they are all outstanding. I would live to go here in the summer to pick berries as I have been told it is great. Definitely on the to do list. I know we will be up here again. Have a great time!
A Great day of Educational fun for Students learn about Revolutionary Day Activities and reenactment. Top class food available also with awesome Apple pies and Chicken Pot pies.
Only stopped by for lunch, which was reasonably priced and tasty. But the real treat here seems to be their pies and pot pies. We took home a caramel salted apple pie and it was amazing.
Riley's Farm was The Bomb. We had lunch. The food was Awesome. Good homemade ambience was what you see in movies and read in books. The service was great. After lunch we pick pears off the trees. Cut Zinnias to bring home. It's a family outing or just two people enjoying country living. Pick pumpkins, apples or just look at the Bulls.
Sucks. Apple trees are not even close to being healthy. The farm performs no maintenance like thinning on trees which results in smaller apples. The bunched apples have worms running through them. The experience is ruined due to this, and you are better off driving to the store to buy a bag of apples. I asked a worker what apples were used to make the pies sold there, and she stated that they avoid using the apples sold at the farm. That tells me that even the workers know their trees & apples are unhealthy.
This review is for their Christmas Carol dinner theater and nothing else, as I have yet to enter Rileys Farm during the day or in any other season. Let me start off by saying I'm not a Scrooge. I very much enjoyed our evening, however there were a few aspects that someone considering shelling out 50 bucks a head would be interested to know about.
The not so good: -The way in. You need to use sheer intuition to know to enter around a gate with a "closed" sign and head down a very rocky dirt road. Signage is sparse (or just wrong) from the street to the correct parking lot. -One bathroom (as in one tiny closet with one single toilet) for hundreds of eating and drinking guests. -Crowded. They packed as many paying guests into the small space as possible at the expense of comfort and ability to move (which was particularly irritating considering we had to get our own food and drinks buffet style in the back of the room. -Visibility. We were about a third of the way back and had a pretty obscured view of the stage, so any farther back would be a problem. -The audio cut in and out throughout the production (with some mics at low volume and some high). -The desserts were very disappointing. For the price and the place you would expect some warm apple pie or something, but instead you get cold hard cookies. -The lack of organization. By the time we were squeezed into our seats, herded to get soup, squeezed back into our seats and finished our soup, we went outside for the hay ride and was told the last one had just finished (without any announcement beforehand that it would be so).
The not so bad: -The food (mostly). Being a vegetarian, my expectations for the food were not very high considering the heart of the meal was ham and roast beef, however I was easily filled. I thought the corn chowder was rather good. The dinner's sides were so-so (but not bad) and they did offer a vegetarian substitution for the meat, although it was a puff pastry filled with veggies so it was more of an addition to the sides than a protein replacement. -The play itself.
The good: -The people. The actors/musicians/attendants/etc. were all friendly and talented individuals. -The music. -The dancing (it was a tight fit in the hall, but it was fun).
Kids had visited when they were in elementary school and wanted to visit again. We came in the fall and after stopping by the shop, restaurant(get the pot pie!) and enjoying the scenery we headed up to the pumpkin patch. What a beautiful setup with the animals, flowers and pick your own apple/pumpkin areas. We all had a nice day there and look forward to getting back soon.
This Place is Amazingly beautiful. HAWK HEADS is warm and has friendly staff. DAVID waited on us. He was one of the best servers I think I ever had. We later found out he was the Manager, No wonder! He was so kind and Knowledgeable and gave great suggestions it was such a pleasure all the way around. We were even a bit late arriving we called we where on our way from Palm Springs they are so gracious. Thanks David! We Loved it! We will be back!!! Food was so Good! Pure Joyful confort on a plate! We had the meat pie, Chicken pot pie and Apple Dumpling with ice cream awwwww Yummy!!!
Even though I've been to Oak Glen 7 or 8 times over the years I've never visited Riley's before last weekend. The buildings are really beautiful. We ended up getting basic stuff at the bakery after finding out the wait was 2 1/2 hours long at the main restaurant. That'll teach us to try to get lunch in the height of the season on a Saturday just an fyi: Willowbrook, next door, is under new ownership and they have what we found to be REALLY delicious bbq since we were still hungry after the lackluster lunch we got next door.
Let me start by saying I am a long time, visited on and off for the past 40 years, customer of the Farm. My family and I used to enjoy the drive to the country to pick apples. Now likely we would never return. Year after year as the farm has developed into a fully commercialized business, it has lost its charm. Let's just say, $30.00 bags of apples, you pick your self and $34.00 for a gallon if cider that the girl who sold it to us was unclear as to where it came from and ball caps the cost $38.00. Keeping in mind, this is an apple orchard, not the happiest place on earth. Head over to the nearest market, get a better choice of apples, cider from Vermont or Washington and give the kids the remaining 90 bucks, you and they will feel better.
Beautiful setting, wonderful, relaxing drive, lovely people, and a joy to feel like you had left California far behind long ago. A warm welcome by the farm's owner, Jim Riley, who took time with us to share some of the farm's family history, and make new friends feel like they had become old ones. Also, the event itself really made you realize that we had so much less government intrusion in our daily lives, so much greater neighborly, community dependability on one another, and so much more individual "freedom" to exercise than we've "improved" for ourselves today - - now THAT was sadly sobering! In other words...our (fore)fathers really DID know best!
We attended the A Christmas Carol dinner at Riley's last night. It was top notch! I've been to Riley's many times, but hadn't been to one of their dinners in many years. Everything was great, from the staff (always in character) to the barn, to the food, to the acting. They have a hayride, caroling, and dancing too. Well worth the ticket price. During the rest of the year, they do many field trips (great experiences with those as well) and during apple season, they have autumn related activities. Well worth the drive up to Oak Glen. Wear closed-toe shoes, no matter what time of year you're visiting, and dress warmly for the winter dinners.
Very crowded on weekends and the large hub of the loop. They got a revolutionary war thing going on, and probably enough here on the West Coast in the hills of Yucaipa. Like all the stops great Apple baked goods and products. There's a uppick, employees dressed in revolutionary era garb, overnight camping, and literally a all day affair to explore thing going on.
LOVE RILEYS FARM! I so look forward to visiting Rileys Farm and the restaurant. We go many times a year to there special night time events like rockabilly nights, the legend of sleepy hallow and a Christmas Carol. All so much fun!
It was such a wonderful outing for the entire famy!! The kids picked apples, pears, strawberries, raspberries and flowers. They loved the goats, sheep and cows. The nut brittle and the cider in the store is some of the best we have ever had!! The drive up here was so beautiful with all the fall colors it was simply gorgeous
The service here is unprofessional. The fact that there are many staff members and customers not practicing social distancing and not wearing masks during the height of the pandemic is unacceptable. The owners have no care for the safety of others and are becoming very negligent. Never going here again.
We have done the gold rush and revolutionary war field trips here - they make the activities fun and educational, have everything organized, and stay very authentic. I always leave impressed. Be sure to pack a little extra for lunch - their "soldier's ration" of cornbread, beef jerky, cheese and apple is pretty small. :-)
This little adventure was fun for the whole family. We made candles, threw some axes, did some archery and picked berries. They have a nice little gift shop and a restaurant that has some good food but the best part were the chilled steins that the drinks are served in. Inexpensive family fun!
AMAZING place on so many levels! We went for Rebels and Redcoats, a Revolutionary War re-enactment. The site was beautiful, fun things to do like tomahawk tossing, the chicken pie was delicious (pre-ordered online to avoid standing in line). Definitely a wonderful place to go and learn and experience.
We are so glad we had a lovely 1st time visit here. The restaurant has a wonderful selection and the setting is very historic. Davidt manager is AMAZING and we look forward to coming back soon!
I went on a field trip to Riley's farm when i was in 2nd grade. They had ice cream also, too. I got vanilla ice cream. We played a lot and i had a sub way sandwich, a kitkat, and a caprisun for lunch. OK Bye.
Minus stars .. loved visiting in past but sadly I'll skip given the placements sues school districts for not visiting their business because of their conservative views.
Amazing we picked strawberry, pears, apples, and pumpkin. We also got some apple cider from those apples super sweet like every fruit we picked... will most definitely go back for more
Quaint farm and family friendly. They have a large farm for Apple, Raspberry, Strawberry and Pumpkin picking. There are two large grass areas many families use for picnics and two restaurants, one with traditional American food and the other more Barbecue centered. The have friendly staff that is willing to help you with which kind of fruit you'd like to pick and even suggest where to go for the best kind. There are also fun little shops for people of all ages to enjoy such as Cider and Trading shops and even a few animals on the farm you can see and pet. Overall was a great experience and recommend it for the fall festivities.
Breakfast at Hawk's Head Tavern - the food is simply delicious, reasonably priced and great coffee. Plus, got to watch several student groups learn a little about life in the 1600s. Riley Farms is a great place for anyone interested in Colonial life & history
Went on the 1st day of the "Apple Butter Festival" they would sell a small condiment container for $2. Otherwise they had been SOLD OUT for 3 WEEKS. And SOLD OUT of PIES. We learned this AFTER waiting in line for 20 mins. . Also we walked all the way down to the archery and other activities to find out we had to walk all the way back up to buy tickets. . The place needs better management and signage. . The place needs some TLC. . Also all the store and kitchen employees were rude.
