I have to say how pleased I am with the Ridgewood YMCA. I have a 10 year old and his first day at Vacation Camp was one where he ask if he can attend the next day. We had only sign up for one day. But according to my 10 year old. The people are very nice , they speak to you not yell at you. He had fun in the gym and making new friends and learning how to make pizza. They went swimming and that was really nice. At the front desk the way they are following protocol as far as temperature check and still being welcoming is great. I did an early drop off and Ben was very nice and Michael was a life saver in making sure my son transition from camp session to swimming classes was ok. I felt relieve and comfortable knowing that my son was being taken care off properly. I also wanted to thank Lindsey and Katie for helping out with the signing up for swimming lessons with, take me to the water for being so informative and patient . Thank You for such a warm welcome we truly appreciate each and everyone. Deyanara Gonzalez you are doing a really great job. Thumbs up

We just went here for a swim lesson and I can't get over how gross this place is. There is hair and dirt all over the floor in the pool area - the family locker rooms are filthy and beyond dated (in the basement) my husband and I were truly shocked at the conditions. We won't be returning.

I take my grandchildren to the Y once a week in the evening. Unfortunately, I encountered a very rude older gentleman at the front desk who was wearing a ball cap. He waited for me by the women s bathroom after swim class to inform me in a condescending tone that s not a changing room I replied and said okay as I was not changing but using the bathroom. He kept going on and said it s simple, get it . I walked away because I did not want to engage this man. Everyone could use a little compassion especially now a days during the pandemic no one know what the other person is going through. The staff should be a little more friendly about explaining the rules.

I had a great experience. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They broke every step down for me and made sure I understood everything I needed to join. Best decision to join the ridgewood YMCA.

The swimming area is very dirty, it's actually quite gross. Going from the family changing room, to the pool area is disgusting, there is hair (hairballs in the showers, huge, multiple hairballs to be exact), we've never used the showers because of this, you can also see things like band-aids, gum, pieces of candy, and other miscellaneous 'stuff' that I honestly can't even describe. There's also hair around the swimming pool. Coming out of the pool and going back to the changing rooms that's super cold is also something I can't warp my head around, the little ones -and adults- are super uncomfortable and cold and change in hurry to escape the low temperatures. We enrolled for lessons this summer, but never again.

I have been a member for a few years. It is a great local gym and pool. I am very pleased that they have managed to allow swimming through this pandemic. From what I see the young children that attend the pre-school and basketball camp seem to enjoy themselves. I find the staff to be friendly
