Went to Healthwise for a former rhomboid injury that was still causing me problems, everyone I worked with was very thorough in pinpointing the exact cause of my pain. The therapists I worked with were diligent in coming up with a plan that would not only help with my immediate issue, but also to help strengthen other muscle groups to prevent future problems. Loved working with this group and would strongly recommend them!

I ve spent over two months with Alec as he is helping me thaw from my frozen shoulder. Throughout the whole process, he was professional, caring, thorough, knowledgeable, personable, and regularly asking me if I had any questions and my thoughts on how it was going.
I ve been to Heathwise for PT after shoulder surgery. I saw Dr. Laura both times. She is absolutely the best. She will work your butt off to make sure you get to at least 100% or better! I would recommend her and Healthwise 1000 times over again. If I need PT in the future, I guarantee I ll be back to see Dr. Laura.
Top notch knowledge in woman's health and pelvic floor care! Shannon's understanding of the relationship between hip pain and a weak pelvic floor has dramatically reduced post baby pain and incontinence! Plus the team is great about helping with kiddos when childcare falls through! Thanks Healthwise!
Dr. Laura Elliott worked with me for a couple months and figured out a regimen that virtually eliminated the hip pain from FAI impingements. I had gone to 3 other PTs and 2 doctors before this, gotten cortisone shots, done dry needling, et al., and nothing worked until she came up with a simple exercise and stretching plan that keeps my pain in check.
Dr. Elliott got me back to riding and training horses when I was wondering if I'd be able to again. She even made herself available for questions after hours and via email in case I needed her advice or help.
I've been going to Healthwise for years for chiropractic, massage and physical therapy. All of my experiences have been outstanding. The professionalism is top notch. The therapists are professional, caring and engaging. I will never go to another clinic while I live in Anchorage.
My daughter spent weeks working to strengthen her legs to avoid surgery on her knee. (She has more than one disability as well.) Unfortunately, the most recent MRI showed she had to have surgery to repair severe damage to her knee. Thus, we spent weeks going to Healthwise to get ready for surgery. She is having surgery in a few days. Our Physician told us to stop by our therapist's office today to see if someone could show my daughter how to do a few exercises after surgery. (He could not get her to engage her quad.) I took his advice. Dr. Laura Elliott spent a total of 8 minutes with us today and led us to the front desk and told the front desk to charge us for a full visit (which normally lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour.) There was no professional courtesy extended to a loyal patient/customer, which was disappointing to see. This was particularly disappointing since the amount of time spent with her was less than the length of time spent at a local drive-through for a fast food meal. Furthermore, we have to participate in months of therapy after surgery too. As a gauge on medical professionalism, I discussed with a close relative. This close relative is in the medical field too (high-level position) and would never charge a patient for a few minutes of his time (because he is a professional who actually cares about his patients and not just the money his patients can give and the insurance that can be charged.) This was such an unfortunate realization as the other therapists (Shannon, Lauren, and Jacquelyn) are kind people, patient, and very professional.
Dr. Elliot is an incredible physical therapist. It amazes me that we have someone so gifted right here in Eagle River. She is caring, has lots of "tricks" to reduce and relieve pain, and can come up with all kinds of exercise modifications to make strengthening doable for anyone. She is encouraging and an immense help toward getting back on track after injury. I highly recommend her, five stars are not enough.
