A beautiful place with four family-friendly restaurants. Friendly professional staff and free car park
We went for the Sunday brunch which was delicious. Sumptuous fresh roast beef is always the star but their fried chicken was amazingly flavourful and juicy, their cheese plater is varied, vegetables are fresh and perfectly cooked. There is something for everyone and you could fill up on normal bacon and eggs, hashbrowns, benedicts and sausage which are yummy too. The tables are a little too close together but people there are generally friendly. The little TVs for watching the race seriously get in the way but this is a race track. The ambiance is light and bright due to the large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the race track. Watching the horses is a real treat whether they're racing or not. It is impeccably clean and the buffet area is modern, welcoming and feels like an upclassed kitchen. The staff are very friendly even though they are constantly on the move. It can take sometime to get your coffee refilled unless you put your empty cup near the tables edge as an indicator.
The price is fair if you're going to enjoy the more expensive fare such as the roast beef but if you just want regular breakfast items and not lunch then the price is exorbitant. Also, avoid the pastries, they are almost always too dry and lack flavour. Which is a shame because I love a good pastry.
Over all this is a great brunch with amazing selection, fresh food, good ambiace, and friendly staff. Great for a special occasion.
You'd think, that being a casino preying on rich elderly would be enough to pay the bills but you would be mistaken. At every corner from the shuttle to the various food stuffs, they gouge every penny out of your wallet. 5$ for the shuttle, 5$ for a chocolate bar, the only time they cut you a break is when you're gambling, and that's just cause they don't want you to stop to get a drink. Side note: got an email saying I had Freeplay, that was a lie. Go to casino de hull, less gouging there.
Good place to eat very good buffet the ribs are ozome
Enjoyed buffet dinner with my kids. Fun to watch races. Wish there are clear sign for the entrance on family dinner day
Great taste and value for the breakfast buffet. Also first class atmosphere and some fun in the casino.
Great place to go to play a few quick slots. No live tables but, the virtual blackjack is where it's at
We went for the Sunday brunch. The food was really good and the service was excellent. That's a buffet style lunch with a view of the racetrack but there were no races this afternoon and I didn't go into the casino area
I like the improvements they have made to the casino can't wait for it to be finished
We had the best customer service from Tony and beautiful Fallon at the bar. The DJ was awesome had a great big smile on his face. He was easy to approach to request a song which he played. Also a fantastic place to take pictures.
Great view of the track when eating from the buffet. You don't have to place a bet to have a good time.
It's always good!! It's a little loud but the food is good.
It's great that they opened a poker room, but really need to improve on the dealers. The games are very slow, they make a lot of mistakes, and it gets frustrating to a point where you almost ask "why didn't I just go the extra distance to Lac Leamy". Please up the game.
Great atmosphere and great buffet food. Can go see a race and maybe win at the slots.
$12.50 for two scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and toast. I don't eat meat, so their idea of an equal substitute is 3 thin slices of tomato. Really!!. The breakfast deal card members used to get was a great kick off to a fun day with my friend. Not anymore. The prices are disgraceful.
I hate losing money. But this place makes me good at it. Haha
Had a great buffet and a little gambling going on sure didn't win.
Very enjoyable good food Sunday brunch and very good service. I will go back.
@Bill's big breakfast staff did a great job, Mayor Watson stood in line just like everyone else nice to see that 2 thumbs up
I was enticed to go there, by a young lady working a booth at Ottawa Winterlude, handing out Freeplay vouchers. I have been to many casinos in eastern North America, this ranks about in the missdle, so I'm giving it 3 stars.
Pros; New look, higher limits on some of the table games, nicce selection on slots, table games staff very accommodating and friendly, very clean.
Cons: Encountered some rude/ignorant staff at the players check in getting a players card, Not a very good way to build a good gambling relationship.... No alchohol comps, and booze as expensive as a night club., ( typical in Canada it seems, what gives????)
Didnt see any shuttles or public transportation from downtown Ottawa, wouldn't be very convenient if you don't drive.
Wouldnt be hard to make it 5 star, I'd start by paying attention to your guests needs...
Give it a whirl if you are in the area.
Entertainment and gambling.
Buffet is ok but somewhat pricey for the selections and little ability to select other items. Bar facilities are adequate but limited not a lot of craft brews to select.
Had a fun dinner at the buffet with a large group and great free concert Boogie Wonder Band
Great way to lose your money and have fun doing it.
Omgosh. The buffet is amazing. Staff so helpful
We'll definitely return
Card table rules are terrible, they will only reserve your seat at the table for 15 minutes. My wife and I went to have lunch, and it took 29 minutes to eat and pay. I guess they don't want anyone leaving the card table. Absolutely ridiculous
Came for family Sunday brunch. Decent buffet for $13.99 a person. Kids eat free under 5 years old. Decent selection, no seafood/shrimp though, and food was plainly seasoned (geared toward seniors), but very fresh.
Great staff, very bright and clean. Parking can be an issue during the winter months due to high customer volume consistent during weekdays and weekends.
Casino and horse racing but restaurant not worth the money
Loads of bells and ringing and lights. Not for me tho. I hope your luck is better
Very nice. Some people look weird. The food is awesome.
It's great, they keep changing the interior around, but I guess that's good. Otherwise you might become complacent, expect the same outcome as a prior visit. Nothing is further from the truth Potato Salad. Warm to the occasion.
They did not give the free play for the birthday month to me but gave my sister 5$ free play? Told us she had a free play for 150$ if she came back between the 28th and the 2nd. Went to go play tonight to find out they had lied. Yet again she got 5$ free play where i had nothing? WE ALWAYS GO TOGETHER... never going back here as they lie and dont care about their customers
Every time I go, I end up losing since the new company has taken over the casino. OLG does not own this casino anymore.
Did a great job on the renos as it was in serious need of some TLC. Not a lot of tables. I prefer going to the casino in Gatineau as I find it more interesting there.
Excellent buffet, can't wait to see the final phase that Hard Rock Cafe / Casino puts in
This is a great way to lose money! The buffet is good and filling. Very enjoyable!
Lots of fun, but the woman passing out drinks wasn't very friendly.
Location sucks but food was good and inexpensive. Didn't gamble.
Always have a great time here! Went to the fair and it was fun, go on Sunday nights for the family buffet, it's really nice and calm most of the time.
The Sunday brunch is excellent. Be careful with minors. The only easy access is through the casino area, the family friendly entrance to the restaurant is out an emergency exit door and out to a side door.
I'm really disappointed ! It's been several years that we go almost every Wednesday evening, to the exhibition of motorcycles and vintage cars and then, we go to dinner! The first years, which is not so long ago about 5 to 6 years, we paid for the buffet at $ 9.99 and last year, the buffet was $ 11.99 plus drinks and taxes which made us $ 32.73 just for the meal without counting the tip. We found that quite reasonable for the choice there was. But this year it was not our surprise, yesterday May 23, 2018, the buffet went to $ 19.99 because supposedly they improved the food, some shrimp, foie gras pates and the desserts that are a little more fancy but for the hot meal I went to have a look, instead of the chicken fingers and pasta (which was often feathers) they put in more fish and lasagna. For the salad bar, their salads are still bland and tasteless but they have changed the service dishes. They also changed the uniforms of the cooks instead of white in which they always appeared dirty, they put them gray and black. And for it's a few changes, they have increased the buffet prices by $ 8.00. We were not surprised to see that the room was half empty. They have lost a lot of customers. And what about the menu card, quite a choice, only 4 choices including the fish and ship at $ 11.99 (only a piece and not very big), and the club sandwich at $ 12.99, served with a bunch of fries (which costs next to nothing) without coleslaw! and beverages at $ 2.50 each. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon! Really disappointed!
Made reservations for a birthday dinner(on a friday). When we arrived they said that they were only letting the people with reservations inn. We took a few drinks before heading out to the meat lovers buffet(29.99$). The meat lovers buffet had ribs, rosbeef which they carve and cut for you, porc tenderloin, chicken in an orange sauce and some fish. There was crab salad, sushi and shrimps(cold) plus a cold buffet which had 3 types of salad and some veggies, olives and cheese. There was 2 kind of soups clam chowder and beef soup. Nothing fancy. There was a good variety of desserts from what we had the chance to see. We had time to serve ourselves one plate of salad and the staff were serving themselves in the buffet and then putting away the food.
Including all the meats...We asked our waiter what was going on. He said that since they were out of electricity and running on generators they were putting all the food away. We asked to speak to a manager. The manager was willing to take 10$ off ... so the buffet would be 20$. We werent satisfied since we had only eaten salad. Asked to speak with the big boss. After arguing with him he finally decided to give us the buffet for free since nobody had the chance to eat.... very disapointed in our experience. We understand it wasn't a night like any other but would've been nice to be warned of the situation. The meat lovers buffet on friday night isn't worth the 29.99$ plus the pop refills arent included. The server told us the pop refills were only included from monday to thursday(and go figure those nights are cheaper lol).... save yourself some $$$ and go eat somewhere else....
Not even close to the atmosphere you get when you go to lacamay casino!
The band playing was decent but the area they were set up lacked seating and hard to hear decently. It being our first time there we expected more but we were not even greeted at the door! Not sure if wed go back..
For the casino in Ontario, I liked the Army Embush band, there is a lot of slot machine.
As a younger gentleman everyone is about three times my age, possibly more. Buffet is great, they do daily specials for the rewards members that are free and definitely worth it. Also lots of machines to choose from.
I never win at this location but its close to home and I do love their buffet.
Absolutely awful. I was waiting 26mins in a line at the Winners Circle desk. I only then find out the Manager is standing 20 feet away chatting with someone doing nothing about it!!!!
Though the location is quite far the buffet is great and I love that they added live poker tables to their games :)
Very small restaunts, only cafeteria were open for lunch at 11.49am. clean a very new cassino.
Very good restaurant, and the buffet is pretty good as well. They have some good vegetarian options, and some good desserts.
Renovations are making a difference. Becoming a happening place.
Went there last night (February 15, 2020) and expected a Seafood Buffet, including crab legs as indicated on their website and what we got was a shrimp lovers dream come true. This was in my humble option the worst buffet ever. We along with the people we brought to dinner are avid high limit gamers and this is a slap in the face. Save the $34 and go to Red Lobster as this buffet isn t worth a shrimp ring from M&M! Terrible and hoping to get our points back...
All I can say is that endless crab is nice, but too salty half the time.
Casino buffet was great and the horse racing was the highlight of the evening. World be nice if closer to downtown Ottawa but overall of you like the races, this is the place to be.
