A superb 1926 vaudeville theater. The first production I saw was when my grandparents took me and my brother and sister to see Raggedy Ann and Andy around the mid-1980s. Since then I've seen many concerts, a play or two, and had my high school graduation there.

The Rialto is truly a gem.

Google Maps is wrong!!! This review is about THE FORGE; NOT RIALTO SQUARE THEATER!!!!

Staff was for the most part, friendly. Venue is rather small for the types of concerts they hold, but what they lack in space, they make up for on accommodation. They need to let out of town visitors know about parking situations (where to park, how much, etc.) in downtown Joliet and provide Metra and Pace transportation information, but that was the only reason they didn't get five stars from me. Grade: A-.

I love this histrionic building. Its very beautiful. I enjoy all the events they have been doing to keep the place open and thriving. I attended my first wedding there on this last visit, it was simply beautiful.

The Rialto Square Theater is simply iconic. It is a fabulous facility that throws you back to a different era. The ceiling and walls have beautiful carvings and the massive chandeliers are breathtaking. And for this being an older theater, the seats were quite comfortable.

Largest Chandelier, Beautiful Theater, See Photos

The Rialto Square Theater in downtown Joliet, IL is a gem. This beautiful theatre began life as a movie palace with a gorgeous pipe organ and hosted Vaudeville stage acts. Today the Rialto is big enough to attract big names and host private events year round. But it is small enough that every seat is close to the stage. Tickets are often half the price of Chicago theaters and you sit closer.

This classic theater along Historic Route 66 has a mirrored lobby designed like Versailles. The main floor, balcony and ceiling create great acoustics giving great sound quality. And the Duchess Chandelier is the largest in North America. (See photos.) Call ahead to see about a guided tour. The Rialto is just a block away from Harrah s Casino with good rooms and food for cheap.

See the rialtosquare website for schedules of events and concerts.

What a gorgeous ornately decorated theater. We have enjoyed the Sound of Music live and are looking forward to seeing Martina McBride Christmas. Love this beauty and experience. We will continue to see plays at this venue. They provide snack stands with coffee and water for purchase.

I saw the Jackson Galaxy show tonight at the theater. I had never been there before so I didn't know what to expect. The venue is absolutely beautiful! Great old architecture, good acoustics and friendly staff. The parking was also good around the venue as well. Highly recommended place to see all types of shows.

Pulled into a parking lot to purchase tickets. Inside for 10 minutes, came out & found a $30 parking citation on the windshield. Neither of us saw any signs about a charge to park there. Guess Joliet isn't interested in drawing people downtown. This will be the last time we'll do anything in Joliet.

A true gem in Joliet's downtown. A beautiful theater that brings a slice of the Chicago Theater to your hometown. The theater is ornate and grand, a huge change from the outside area that is rapidly deteriorating. The downside to this grand interior, is that there are very few big acts or productions. What is the use of a beautiful place with no reason to go?

I wish they had more shows I was interested in, but they've been getting better. Can't beat the free and easy parking, the staff are really great, and drinks aren't overpriced like Chicago venues.

I have always enjoyed concerts at the Rialto. The acoustics are wonderful. Not a bad seat in the house. The theater itself is lovely. The preservation society does a good job. The only concern I can express is the ridiculously long women's restroom lines. Wish they could do something to fix this!
