Revolution Cardiff Review

Revolution is great. Okay, it can take a while to get served when busy however the selection of vodkas is a treat! Well worth a visit on a party night out.

Didn't enjoy the cocktails very much, and the service wasn't great either. When asked for a table, we were guided to the bar counter(as other tables were reserved), didn't say they'd offer us a table later, when one got free. Have been to revolution elsewhere which was simply wonderful, but not this one.

We visited revolution bar on Sunday 6th May for a cocktail session for 16 people for my hen night. The session was fantastic and run by Mike & Mike. We all had such a laugh! Highly recommended, they were so accommodating even though one of the girls was pregnant she could make a non-alcoholic one :)

Great selection of vodka. Tough luck if you want anything else. Also, music was too loud for even a small conversation to take place.

This review is for Sync, the best Tuesday night out in Cardiff, held at Revolution.

One of my favourite nights in Cardiff, I was gutted when Mode was cancelled at Revolution, although was instantly heartened when the spirit and musical quality of the night was revived under the new name Sync. While downstairs plays an eclectic mix of various genres, upstairs plays nothing but electro and electronic dance music. Combined with the best range of flavoured vodka in Cardiff, Sync is a buzzing event, and sees Revolution filled with students from across Cardiff's universities. Cross Zedd, Knife Party, Alesso and Bingo Players and you get a fair idea of how the music sounds. If you like that sort of stuff (and I do), there's nowhere better.

Always a great evening/night, love all the offers that are available to students. Also love the photo booth

Cocktail making was amazing highly recommend - Bonas was our master class teacher.

reason for low score is that went there for dinner and was told kitchen was clised the staff didnt look very or was very welcoming

Disappointed and not happy at all with customer service. Advertised 2 for 1 until 9pm everywhere, even on the website, yet it s 7pm and we re told their not doing it just because. Which is FALSE ADVERTISING. We also waited 15 minutes for 2 More

Nice place to drink we had such a laugh here , music was good , doormen very accommodating , staff all friendly . could probably do with a deep clean as was a bit grubby
Example : seats dirty , tables sticky not wiped the whole evening , bar grubby too .

I used to love Revs, especially when I was younger but after a night out tonight I am beyond angry. One male member of staff refused to let me and a friend back in the VIP section where we had been all night. We had only popped downstairs to use the loo. The male staff member on the door to the VIP spoke to me with such a terrible, disgusting and arrogant tone. He said that he hadn't let us in earlier (even though he had) and he spoke to me with a look of disgust on his face. He finally decided to let us in and as I got through the door he then pulled me back by my arm and said, "nah, you ain't going in." Brilliant use of English by the way. Another young male then came over claiming to be the manager. I explained the situation and he said "I'll speak to him later." Whilst this conversation was taking place the rude short male on the door was saying to his 'manager,' "nah don't let them in!" Manger guy let us back in but I said I wanted to dealt with as he physically pulled me by the arm. Manager guy didn't seem bothered. Absolutely appalled.

This is a large bar and has a good mix of music. Definitely worth visiting if in Cardiff as we went there as a stag group and as long as your respectful the bouncers are sound and the promotion staff and managers were great. Really good night!

this bar was chosen for our hen weekend as our fun time with the cocktail making. The cocktails and the making was so funny and Ben and Matt were brilliant hosts. I checked the Facebook site for the bar and it said full disabled access. On our arrival the cocktail making was upstairs but 1 person in our party couldnt make the stairs as was on a walking stick so on asking a staff member she arranged for a lift to be used to get upstairs but the lift was not used for customers so the person with us had to go in an extremely dirty and smelly lift to join in with all of us upstairs which was such a shame. Also the dining tables are so high downstairs she had to be helped by several people so she could sit and eat her meal..please change the website that you have full disabled access as you most obviously have not.

Very classy place as it seems here. I attended "Revs" as a works nice out through Samsung. Had a great night with Samsung but the staff about from revs were also very nice and quick at getting drinks out. Would definitely recommend going back to revs for some casual drinks with friends or for another works night out as it's a great place in central Cardiff.

Love the decor and drinks were great. Slow service though and very shor staffed.

I sent my friend to the bar to buy me an appletiser (I wasn't drinking that night). The barman couldn't find where they kept the appletiser so mixed apple cordial with soda water. Not only did it not taste good, but my friend was charged the same price as an appletiser for this substandard alternative.

No trainers at 9pm when it s not even busy. I d understand if we were all scruffy but all the girls had good shoes on and the boys all had shirts so why does it matter ? .... will never go again .

Fab day for my 70th birthday at revolutions..Thank you Rhodri for making my night with all the fab cocktails...we made..

Great offers on food and drink, nice atmosphere, clean, friendly staff and central

Nice bar, I'm old and went there on a Christmas party, not that loud and wasn't over packed. Security were very professional and help a few drunks. Bar not packed out. So for an old 51 it was ok. Would I go there normally lol no leave that for the kids.

Relaxed atmosphere. Good choice of cocktails at 2 for 1. Beer good. Staff helpful and friendly. Will be back next year.

As for a party environment it was fine and in a decent location. However the food was a poor offering significantly over priced for the amount of food and vegetarian option was terrible until challenged.

I'm not keen on going back for food based on this experience.

Been a few times, but first time I've eaten, the burgers are amazing, and served very quickly.

Great hospitality and good food. Highly recommended. Especially good if you have a loyalty card. You can get 2 for 1 cocktails all day everyday. Top marks to Sam for being a good host.

Staff were lovely and did their best to help us but unfortunately there were no available tables and over an hour wait for food.

Modern pub but too much rap for me. I missed more electronic music.

Bar man Joel was fabulous with us, showing us how to make cocktails, very attentive staff and full of smiles

Seems to have gone downhill recently. Was generally quiet aside from a few groups.
Service was slow. Was told after 5 mins of waiting that they no longer did the cocktails we ordered off the cocktail menu. Other drinks weren't in stock and the bar man could not have made it more obvious that he didn't want to be there!
Once we got our drinks they were fine.

Me and my friends decided to watch the Champions League Final here and we were really disappointed with the connection on the big screen. It kept freezing and it even went off at the beginning so we had to resort to watching the penalty on a mobile phone. This is the main reason for the low rating, however on a positive note the food was really good and for this reason I will go back again but maybe not for any event being streamed...

The only place we could get in following the Wales v Barbarians game. Relaxed and very welcoming for a Saturday night

Great improvement after the refurbishment. Food is delicious, Halloumi bites/sticks were amazing. Nice atmosphere and drinks menu is nice and varied (alcohol-wise).

Revolution is our bew home for salsa dancing, and i must say it's absolutely brilliant for what we want. A nice floor plus plenty of space to dance and its air conditioned. Great venue

Went there Saturday bit disappointed there was no clear indication of the 2 4 1 cocktails as the drinks are pricey. Had cocktail making with Joel who was fab! Food was lovely just had grazes- nachos, prawns, calamari, sticky chicken and mustard and honey sausage plenty for 3 to share others had pizza looked equally nice.

Amazing for big groups, cocktail masterclasses and cooperate functions. Sales team are so helpful!

Simply terrible, one of the worst places to go in Cardiff, expensive and the music choices are painful. This is then compounded by the utter idiots they employ on the door, they let girls skip the queue for no reason or don't move when then push in but if a guy did that he'd basically get assaulted by these morons. They also now breathalyse people and if are heard saying anything bad then some ginger prick will ban you. DONT GO HERE!!

Disappointed with the Gluten free option, . Main Gluten free option was the curry, which was a bit too hot.

A great find on international day .... space to sit comfortably upstairs and reasonable prices
