Love, love their food. I've been Vegan for 27 years now! Their 'meats' taste like the meats I ate 27 years ago!!!! The atmosphere is great for eating in and no long waits for 'take outs.' Staff is always friendly and helpful! My favorite place as of this summer when I discovered them! You need to check it out, even if you are not Vegan! You'll be pleasantly surprised!!!! I promise!
They overcook the Impossible Burger, but it's still easily the best vegan burger in town.
Used to love Morels but recently the sides have been smaller than normal. My food today was over cooked and burnt.
Can I give -10. Awful service! Good food. There is NO SIGN anywhere stating that customer orders are to go if you don't get a table by the time your food comes out, Even when other people sitting down were behind you in line and there food hasn't come out yet. I explained to staff that I have a heel lift, chronic back pain. Had to go outside and sit on a bench after standing with 3 other groups for 10 minutes which didn't bother me. I asked if they would ask a group to move. All they said was "No we don't do that. You can take it to go. You can go make friends." I shouldn't have to eat at s small table with some people I just met. I said we are going somewhere 20 minutes away after and our food will be cold. We can't heat it up. Are you going to refund our money? They said nothing and didn't care or apologize. I even offered the suggestion that they get a ticket system. That way people wouldnt be rude and sit down when they know other customers are before them. They could call people up. It's your establishment and your responsibility to politely tell people to wait for a seat when their food isn't ready and someone else's is. MAKE A SIGN saying if you can't find a seat your order is to go. Even if you were in line ahead of others or maybe one saying please be courteous when there are 10 people standing and waiting for food. One couple was done when we got there. After 15 minutes of talking they got cookies and sat back down. Seriously?
My main problem with vegan restaurants is usually portion size - that s not an issue at Morels. The portions are huge and the food is GOOD. You will have no idea you re not actually eating chicken or a hamburger.
And if they have any vegan Pop-tarts when you go, for the love of all that is good - get one. You can thank me later.
Took my family of 4 (2 adults a teen and preteen) to morels. The atmosphere is extremely clean and the staff was very friendly. But the food.... oh my talk about indulgent! But what really rocked my world was that I choose to purchase a few extras from their deli to eat on through the week and even though it looked like leftovers, it was like I had gone out to eat over and over again. Thank you for morels, I can finally dig in guilt free!
10/10 would have their chick faux le as my last meal
I took meat eaters with me and they were amazed that the food they were eating was vegan. The place was busy for a reason. I will be back!

Easily the only place to get traditional favorites made vegan. Try the chick-faux-le and the Farby!

- possibly the best restaurant in town

- hip dining area and ambiance
Cautions:
- small dining area forces all orders to be carry-out only at peak times; there is no waiting system in place for those who do want to wait for a table, so if you choose to do so, it creates a little unwritten tension in the crowd when a table does open up
- though vegan, this is still comfort food; healthy eating it is not
Summary:
While this dive is 100% plant-based, this place is a must-eat for those following a vegan diet and those who don't. Do not deny yourself the experience of the flavor -- your tongue deserves better! I have visited many, many times and love this joint! The biggest issue is the crowds, but heck, that is always a caveat of a great restaurant. I just hope they put a waiting system in place... or maybe it time to consider expanding.

I loved this restaurant before they closed before and I'm now a big fan of their BBQ venture. We got both entrees and two sides, even the non vegan thought the food was great. Can't wait to see what they do next!

First time checking this place out and will definitely be back! Staff is super friendly, food was good and the atmosphere is totally comfortable. Also, this place may be vegan but do not let that stop you from checking it out. I'm hands down the furthest from a vegan and was hooked.

Amazing vegan food with a trendy atmosphere! The entire atmosphere is very eco-conscious. Plus, the Philly cheese fries are phenomenal! The portions are very generous so you get a lot for your money.
Whenever I visit Louisville I now have a go-to vegan restaurant. Everything is outstanding and delicious! Very filling!
Haven t been able to make it in yet but every time I order off Postmates it s SO good! I became vegan a couple months ago and Morel s has definitely made the transition easier. It s hard not to eat the potato salad all day every day

Great options for my whole family, and excellent smoked potato salad from their deli case. Super cute atmosphere, especially liked the lighting! Everything we tried was delicious , wish there was a location closer to home!
I love the concept of Morels, I really do, but I got sick after eating here. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad and it was so heavy, I returned it (for a full refund -- props) and still threw up anyway. Lighter fare options would definitely be appreciated for those of us who typically veer away from fried foods. On the upside, the staff here is super & they used gender neutral language when referring to customers which is rad.
Lots of great vegan options!! My husband and friends did the Lucifarby challenge and they all were successful, even though it was very painful for them. Fries and chili cheese dogs are amazing you can t even tell that they re vegan.
Hands down the best vegan food I've ever had. Love the Farby, but my favorite is their pork sliders.
Don't recommend. Everything was either fried or covered in some sauce on the menu. Taste was only ok. The worst part is what it did to my system for the next few days. Cost was very high for an appetizer and meal with no drink, appetizer split between two. 17 dollars. Water machine was a giant pain to try and get water, even after I had to let them know it was empty it still took forever to fill up the cup. Music and atmosphere was entirely too loud, shouldn't have to shout to have a conversation in a cafe. No service is provided, that's fine since you're not expected to tip i suppose. But for that price you would think they would at least take your dishes afterwards, that's also a no. I was really hoping to have a vegan spot to go to regularly, and instead I wish I hadn't gone at all.
Was greatly surprised at the taste of my burger. It tasted like the real thing! My daughter is a vegan, so I. decided to take her there for lunch and was totally surprised at the taste and quality. They have only a few items on the menu---all vegan. Waffle fries come with each order and they, too, were delicious. We will definitely be back often! Also wait staff were very friendly.

Anything other than a 5 star is just bull. This place kicks so much vegan ass it is beyond me why it s not slammed packed from open till close. Food is on point. Even if you are not vegan. It s dope food. For real. Loved it here. Try the vanilla hibiscus. Fire. The staff are extremely helpful and make great recommendations. But you really can t go wrong from what I can tell.

This place is cute and cozy. Staff is AMAZING! The food....OMG was better than I could've ever imagined. Im new to the Vegan lifestyle and this place couldn't have been a better option. It was an awesome experience and the food was great bar none! I will definitely return.

The food here is great; however, it's at little pricey. I ordered the burger w/fries and a Topo Chico mineral water and the bill was almost $20. On top of that, when I paid with my card, the recommended (default) tip was at 25%!

This was our second time here and we could not shove the food down our pie holes fast enough. I ordered the farbys meal with broccoli salad and the buffalo chicken ranch fries as an appetizer. I think they could be a bit more generous with the ranch on the buffalo fries, but all in all the food and atmosphere was fantastic. Def one of my favorite vegan spots.
Morels Cafe is a WOW vegan food place. It's a small diner with about 8 tables and two bar areas along the front windows. You order food from the counter and it's delivered to your table. We spent some time browsing the small store of vegan items, tee shirts, tofu press...
The Impossible Burger patty is amazing! I had it in the Diner Burger and it tasted closer to meat than any other plant based burger I've ever had. The curly fries and seasoned waffle fried were great too. The serving sizes are large. We will return when in the Louisville area.
