Mirazur: Critique of Pure Reason.
Superior Menu 9 courses: 260 + cheese complement + 2 glasses 19 / u + 1 Bottle of White Wine 80. Total price for two people 689 ( 344 per person).
My opinion is that you have to be as demanding as the Rte itself is situated, as number 1 in the world, with a long wait for a table, with prices that are also super Top and in a place that in general requires great effort to arrive from Spain and others. countries.
My opinion of these restaurants is that they have to be top in the food, in the service and in the location / setting, all wrapped up in a touch of art. And to be the number 1 of the top you have to link all these principles above 8 without excuses. There must be organoleptic creativity in the dishes surprising in flavors, surprise in the combination of the products, there must be choreography in the service that makes you feel inside a theater, and end up accompanying with a first-rate natural environment, or failing that Well designed and decorated artificial environment.

-Food (score 6 scraped):
9 dishes, none surprising, perhaps worth noting -without many lights- the beet with caviar sauce and the tartlet of black truffle slices with a base of grana padano and artichoke. Of course, it improves on frozen desserts. In general, they present an excess of elaboration with butters and cheeses that in the end finish the meal with heaviness (even for stomachs like mine with good serving and background travel). I think it is the first time that I end up stuffed in a Michelin without excess in the amount. Nor does it stand out in the combination of flavors, for example a well-cooked pigeon dish but with a soft hollandaise sauce with a hint of liquorice / juanola on the left and the super intense and pungent flavor and aroma of a black garlic sauce on the right: irreconcilable . I also didn't find their oyster star plate with pear anything special.
Of course, the first quality used product cannot be otherwise.

-Service (score 7).
Of course a correct service with young boys who carry the plates, clean the crumbs and serve the wine. But no choreography, no art. A correct service like that of many restaurants without stars.

-Environment (score 7.5).
The natural environment of the restaurant and its views are 9, but I lower the score to 7.5 because the interior decoration is normal, than you can expect in any other quality restaurant, with a room that only stands out for the view to the outside.

In summary, a global final grade between 6 and 7 very low for the Top number 1 in the world, which falls very short in terms of economic effort, logistics and expectations. In my opinion, I think it is a restaurant that is integrated into a very beautiful exterior environment but that is wasted internally, with rather flat dishes that do not bind products and flavors well and that abuse sauces, butters and dairy products in general. In addition, as in almost all these restaurants, the main Chef Mauro was not there to greet the diners nor did anyone ask at the end about the gastronomic experience. Finally, as an experience it is fine, as a pure gastronomy it does not measure up to the result of the dishes.

The beginning should not really bode well, as the long in advance made reservation for Friday noon was canceled by the restaurant and the Thursday or Saturday was offered as a replacement. Since we wanted to stay in Menton all weekend, we decided on Saturday evening. After all, we were offered the aperitif for the flexibility. Nevertheless, actually a no-go!

The restaurant itself is pretty, the view over the sea breathtaking! The tables have no tablecloths, of course that's a matter of taste, but looks "more instagrammable", but not necessarily comfortable. After we had confirmed to the third service that we wish to communicate in English (we speak a little French, but the courts would have understood too little), then it started.

The food was very good, there is nothing to criticize. Except maybe that parts of the pigeon were already cold in the main course, because my partner was not sitting at the table when the course was served. My expectation would have been here that the absence of the service noticeable and the court is served warm after return of my partner.

I would like to highlight the sommelier, who has served great wines in a sympathetic way. Only the capacity of the glasses seems to me with max. 0.5dl at a price for the regional wine accompaniment of 140 EUR a bit miserable or the price too high, depending on.

For irritation then also the conclusion, when us at the coffee / tea was opened, that the taxi had already arrived. The drinks to the petits fours had just been served and the bill / taxi was not ordered by us yet. You actually felt more or less thrown out.

Overall, mixed feelings remain; Food top, service flop, atmosphere medium.

We had a magical time for a meal, we will come back (once the money saved by cons). The servers are simply extremely efficient, of a very large and perfect professionalism, we were served like royalty (this is one of the reasons why the price of the discovery menu did not seem excessive in the end). The view is magnificent and the decor of the room very successful. So that's 4 stars.
But some small false notes too, not much to tell the truth. All the dishes tasted were incredible, of infinite finesse, sensitivity and subtlety which left us truly speechless. Our favorite: the greens, which made us fall back into childhood.
Only problem in the appetizers in our opinion: the carrot with pomelo and black sesame which remained a little too bitter in the mouth. And maybe also that the chocolate dessert hat was a little too fatty on the palate (because too thick?). Here, it is very little understood compared to all that we tasted but it was nevertheless to be noted within the framework of an establishment which aims for perfection.
I add finally that the bread to share was good ... but good! Fluffy and crispy at the same time! The idea is so simple and so ... determining ... Finally the flowers: the dishes were real pictures before our eyes, not to want to destroy them with our forks!

They pushed the signature menu even though I asked for the other one. It was a huge disappointment. Food is not even close to a 2* standard. My complaints were ignored. Wine pairings were excellent. I regret taking the trip all the way to menton for this.

Very very disappointed with the customer service

As the online booking wasn't open for February 2020 when I looked in August 2019, I emailed Mirazur on the 3rd August asking whether I could book a table for lunch on the 7th February.

I received an email on the same day from Sara Piantoni, the Reception Manager, stating that they would contact me later in the year in order to take my reservation.

So I waited. And waited. As I hadn't heard anything from the restaurant by the 15th November, I looked on the website to find that the 7th February is fully booked. I emailed the restaurant again with my concern, asking whether we had a table for that date and received a reply suggesting that I register myself on the waiting list in case of a cancellation. Another follow up email from me has received no response.

As my sister and I are only in the area for a couple of days we will now not be able to eat at the restaurant. We're both incredibly disappointed. We expected better communication from the Mirazur.

One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in, from the service to the food it deserves 5 stars. The title of Best restaurant in the world is a hard crown to carry, and you come in here with so much expectations, indeed the food doesn t have any magique or wow insta friendly effect, but you can tell a lot of hard work has been put into it and it doesn t deserve any less than a 10/10.

A pro staff but relaxed away from a too heavy atmosphere too often encountered in 3 macaroons
If there is an improvement to make it will be on the toilet! We can find better but we will stay on a desire to return quickly

Outstanding taste and food combinations. Decor is simple but magnificent views of the Mediterranean. Service was very professional and friendly but got slow when the restaurant got full.

We visited this restaurant in August. The service was really impeccable and spotless, but at the end of the day I didn t like this restaurant that much. It is expensive (really expensive) but that is to be expected in e three star restaurants. What I didn t expect is just how much the kitchen was experimental. I find myself to be a consumer who appreciates the traditional gastronomy; If you re like me, you won t like this restaurant. Every single meal was an experiment by chef. Very unorthodox and different (ie one of the tasting menu desserts was basil tartelette which tastes like pesto with sugar). If you re ready to go to a restaurant where you will be paying a lot of money and want to experiment, this is a restaurant for you. If, like me, you prefer the traditional gastronomy, I advise you to go somewhere else.
PS I enjoyed having my amuse bouche in the garden at the picnic setting as it was quite different experience.

Unfortunately the food was not as expected. Started amazing and suddenly gave a negative turn. There was a problem with a dish (meat from Galicia). It was chewy, hard to cut and too unconventional taste. We were the first to get it and sadly not the only ones to give our negative feedback. It was immediately and discretely replaced to all the guests by, I found it a risky option for a plan B: pigeon. I personally couldn t eat, disliked, 4 dishes from the menu:
. Spaghetti Zucchini with Clamps
. Swordfish (Fish and more fish. Too fishy)
. Pigeon (Called it bloody pigeon. It seemed it was actually bleeding)
. Chocolate bru (I didn t like the rosemary taste and under the chocolate leaf it looked like there was a fried egg. Confusing)
So I didn t eat 50% of the menu. I understand that taste is very individual/personal but it was pretty disappointing. My husband forced himself to eat my leftovers out of politeness which he totally regrets now. It has never happened this to me/us before in a restaurant of this category (we had been to Piazza Duomo, Arzak, Bulli, Mugaritz etc)
On the positive note: Service was excellent. Well the cheese waiter too pushy. There was a misunderstanding and he served us 2 cheese plates: 3 pieces of cheese. Delicious but if I knew I was gonna pay 25 I would have gotten more. Now I understand why he was insisting so much for me to get more.
View: wonderful. Location/Building is due to a refurbishment (outside terrace and toilets)
Disappointing that Mr. Colagreco was not available to chat with his guests.
I give it 2/5 stars.

Chef Mauro Calagreco's cuisine revolves around the lunar calendar and changes approximately every 3 days.
A menu around these 4 elements changes depending on the garden: leaves, flowers, roots, fruits.
The technicality and knowledge of the products that it takes to prepare and arrange the dishes together is simply admirable.
In addition, the service is relaxed while being precise which allows for a relaxed atmosphere.
The power of the sauces, the harmony of the dishes carry the colors of gastronomy high by revealing the senses of our taste buds.
The wines are sumptuous on the electronic card which must also change often, in accordance with the menu.
The seasons pass and the Mirazur knows how to magnify them brilliantly. 3 well-deserved stars.

Nice setting, nice view, good competent and friendly room staff ....
The dishes are pretty, but it stops there the day I came ...
We took the menu (not given) 140 and nothing at the level flavor, will not stay in my memory ... I do not even feel to have had 140 . No expensive raw material; on the menu: Oyster, beef carpaccio, beetroot (!!!), tortellini (!!!), sea cucumber, mullet, sweetbreads, duck, and kaki dessert ... and raw squash with arbutus and buckwheat. ..
No subtlety in the flavors all along the meal, nothing fancy, and dubious mixtures, especially at the beginning and end of the meal (an extremely sweet beetroot fruit paste as an appetizer and a tartlet sweet potato / gorgonzola sprinkled of coffee in sweetness)
A lot of acidity in the dessert and sweets to wonder if the pastry chef was not tipped to prepare the entries before my arrival ...
In short, extremely disappointed and I'm used to good tables ...

We are not going to look for noon to two p.m., the chef may be one of the most prestigious in France, these meals are by no means, already we waited an hour before being served (when it (there weren't many people that evening) plus the big downside is the non-proportionality of the price and the quantity. let me explain: 120 for a lobster that arrived alone on the plate without presentation or even some vegetables.

What a desappointment. Given our experience in three-star restaurants, we were surprised at the level displayed on 3 points: the service is certainly young and relaxed, but messy and approximate. Difficult to know who was the sommelier in particular, we had to ask several times that the glasses be filled. If they call this restaurant the best in the world that's an understatement. BRUH! The food I ate on my plate was so good I HAD to order it again! Completely underrated best FOOD IN MY LIFE. Service. Food. PERFECTION! absolutely fabulous table but a little pricey. If you have the money and you are willing to spend a couple bucks 100% RECOMMEND!

The first Michelin restaurant experience may be that the seasoning of Chinese and Western dishes is really much worse. Although each dish looks exquisite, it just doesn't suit my appetite. The restaurant is in a special location. It is 5 minutes walk to the border between Italy and France. The view of the restaurant itself is also very beautiful. Although there are no fans in the dining place, it is indeed quite hot in July. The waiters at the restaurant are attentive, but unfortunately I do n t know if they are more friendly when they serve other foreign guests because they are Asians. The toilet in the restaurant made me feel not very clean. I ca n t say it was dirty, but it just did n t meet the expectations of this high-priced restaurant.

Amazing cuisine, no wonder it was voted the world's 3rd best. Beautiful views of the Mediterranean from just about any table. Not cheap ( 260 per person for the 7 course prix fixe) but a truly unique dining experience and totally worth it (in my opinion). Take the train from Nice, get off at Menton Garavan and walk about 15 minutes to get there.

The only 5 stars in my long list of Google reviews... Go for the menu "experience" where they take you in a trip of flavors harmonized with... Wines!

We did not feast this October 4 ... 6 years ago, our first meal in this restaurant had remained engraved as marble, so there was research in the unexpected, marriages of flavors unforgettable, but then what a disappointment this October 4, except the ames & fronts and after desserts, the entrance was very banal: a steak of dry fish served in a soup of fish! In a dish rabbit red wine sauce! Brasserie dishes! Really 110 the brasserie menu, it is exorbitant, moreover the jug of tap water charged 9! Fortunately the service is very attentive and very friendly. I do not think we will return, the price / quality ratio is very poor. Michelin maintains the 2 stars of this restaurant without having put a foot there for a long time. Too bad, we still have good memories of a few years ago ...

I so wanted to love Mirazur. We visited in June 2017 as it was rated #4 restaurant in the world. The service was great at the food presentation was beautiful but the combinations of flavours just missed the mark for me a little in many of the dishes. Just didn t meet the expectations I had of such a highly rated restaurant.

Number One in the world for a reason. Excellent experience, amazing venue, great service (Laurent especially, top waiter & a good laugh), food incredible & the owner very welcoming. We were lucky enough to go into the kitchen & meet Mauro who invited us to come to his celebration at being crowned Number One in Paris. I just left that event & it was great.

Go to Mirazur as it s worth every penny. There s a very reasonably priced wine list too.
