Operation nice and knowledgeable (except for the stack of plates that fell over ) meat top, cheese board at least nice pieces of cheese, whipped cream on the Irish coffee. Good atmosphere.

This easy-does-it bistro with classics interspersed with temporary dishes is an essential part of the Haarlem hospitality landscape. Don't expect culinary delights but just basic but tasty food. Nice (house) wines by the glass too. Almost always fine in order service, very child friendly too.

This place was recommended to us by our airbnb host, and we're so glad she did! This was our first stop in Haarlem and the place was packed. Husband and I were told 45 minutes but we decided to wait at the bar. Before we could even finish our first drinks, a table opened up for us, very lucky. We ordered 8 oysters and they were awesome, loved the sauce that came with it too. I got a steak with a sweet teriyaki-like sauce, can't remember what it was called exactly, but it was amazing nonetheless. Perfectly medium rare and the veggies were a nice combo. Husband got the truffle ravioli and he loved that as well. 100% recommend! Anyone who goes to Haarlem must try this place!

La Plume does not know which Haarlemmer! A satay on the summer terrace located in the most beautiful place in Haarlem is of course a must. A concept!

I had the Crispy Duck Salad and the Grilled Steak (rear), the sweet and sour source on the duck, it was insanely good and I asked if I could have it on my steak too. The waitress and Chef's service matched the taste of this extremely good meal. Thanks so much.

You MUST eat here. This place is 6 stars out of 5! The menu is fantastic. I had the tiki masala made with prawns. One of the best dishes I have enjoyed. So flavorful. Also enjoyed the chefs choice appetizer plate. Service is great as well...very attentive and friendly.

Great place that's been Haarlem's source of cozy, good, reasonably affordable food for well over 30 years. It's super relaxed attitude, free peanuts at the bar for those waiting for a table. Some staples such as the spare ribs have kept me coming back for as long as I've lived in our around Haarlem.
We had a very disappointing experience, we had some burgers and ice cream. The burgers were not good (we were expecting higher quality meat for this price) and same for the ice cream. But seeing the good reviews of this place, we will probably give it another try.

Super nice and cozy restaurant! Unwise friendly service that is constantly present but certainly not intrusive ... The atmosphere is provided by an open kitchen. Totally a top location mixed with driven staff and a great kitchen! During our visit they suffered from a power outage but this did not spoil the atmosphere or meal.
One of the few in the neighborhood open kitchen after 10PM in Saturday which is great!! The bread before the meal taste very well. We ordered Gamba and Spare Rib. The shrimp in the Gamba is fresh and big. The spare rib is such a big portion. It s more than enough to share between us two and it comes with a fries as well!

La plume is a cozy, busy, somewhat noisy place. A mainstay in Haarlem, it's been there for over 20 years. Easy eating for something between a bar and restaurant. No reservations, but waiting at the peanut riddled bar.
The location is excellent; the decor tasteful and cozy; the service excellent and ..... the food sublime.
Mabe the worst tartare ever seen, its more like a mousse than meat...
