Reading some of the comments, I wonder if a lot of people don't want to sit in ringside for a dime. I do not recognize these reactions. The hotel is not super luxurious, but it is a nice simple hotel with very friendly staff who even in these times make an effort for the guest and treat everyone with the warmest possible heart.
The room was spacious and clean, with smooth laminate flooring throughout. There is no minibar, but if you want to keep something cold, you can discuss this with the reception. Fresh towels were provided and beds made during our stay. The bathroom was clean and had a bath, a toilet and a spacious sink. There is a shower curtain in the bath, I see people complaining about it, I think that is special. The shower curtain was clean and everything was nice and fresh.
The breakfast was good, there were croissants and there was fresh bread, lots of fruit and cottage cheese, yogurt, spreads (sweet and savory), coffee, tea, juices, various muesli, scrambled eggs and boiled egg, bacon, pancakes and hot tomato and go so on. And here too the staff were friendly! For the road we ordered a drink box, delicious with some small snacks in it and nice to take with you on a bike ride. They also have take-out lunches.
Dinner was good, not excellent, but good, tasty, relaxed and sufficient.
The hotel has a good location, within walking distance of the beach, Hollum, the lighthouse and the hollumer bos. A wonderful location to stay and from here to explore the entire island.

One note, if you offer something you also have to make sure it is correct; we called around half past eight for room service. On the phone, the reception told us that they could not put us through and whether we could come down and order it ourselves. No room service for us.
And okay, a minus. The hotel is noisy, you can hear people walking and slamming doors, but not in such a way that you do not sleep or that and a continuous stream of noise pollution.

On arrival we were kindly welcomed by the receptionist. She indicated that we had received a room upgrade. We had booked a double room with a bath, but it was now a three-room apartment. Not a problem in itself, but that did change the atmosphere we had expected.

Once we arrived at the apartment we were greeted coldly, not exactly a warm welcome, because it was only 15 degrees in the room. All electric heaters had to get warm.

We have now spent our first night in the apartment. The beds were pretty saggy, say, a big hole in them. For the rest it was all dressed up a bit old fashioned.

Now had breakfast and very satisfied with it, delicious fresh bread and enough toppings!

Not worthy of 4 stars. No fridge and kettle in the room. Filthy room. Have to clean the toilet yourself twice . According to the cleaning team, we should have taken a picture of it. Now it was our word against theirs. And then the anti-smoking policy of the hotel. In itself fine but then clean the balconies. It was full of butts !!!!! Finally the toilet downstairs in the lobby: shit was smeared on the tiles. So for us this was 1 x and NEVER again!

Good location in Hollum, we had a nice furnished apartment for four people. Not very solid built, so noisy, but ideal for a holiday on the great island Ameland. P. S. Well equipped kitchen!

We had a room at the end of the corridor, room 209. on Sunday 15 / 9-2019
So not only a skylight but also a large side window. That was nice.
Good mattresses in the beds and a handle in the bath / shower area.
Booked through Fletcher Bon Received on my birthday. Breakfast booked.
Breakfast was very good everything was there and more than adequate.
Lady at the reception counter had time and advice for every guest

Well .... the price quality ratio is of course not very bad. But .... still hope some more. The eighties layout and design is quite well maintained, but it does not get any younger. I was more or less the youngest hotel guest, and that has hardly happened to me lately. It is not bad, that would go too far, but you get what you pay for is the best I can say about it.

Very nice and well-kept apartments, with a balcony or terrace. Absolutely child and dog friendly. Swimming pool on site may be used.
There is a bike rental service on site.
I would love to come back.

Do not pay full price for this! it is dated and stale. Minimum patched, large rooms, clean beds, good breakfast and helpful staff. Furthermore, old and spotty, the warm corridor with bumpy carpet is the most depressive, welcome in the eighties.

Rented apartment. Great apartment. On the eye it was clean. Only downside it was non-smoking but the balconies were firmly packed so that we could not go outside. Nice is that hares are jumping around in the garden. The food from the restaurant in the hotel is highly recommended. We have eaten in the restaurant but saw that there was also an 'at the door' service.

In itself a nice hotel with very friendly staff. Staff who think in terms of solutions. A big disadvantage is that dogs are allowed, both in the restaurant and in the breakfast area. Dogs also sleep in the rooms, which causes a strong dog odor in the rooms. All in all, not that fresh.
Fletcher hotels should not allow animals to enter a hotel

The service and drinks are reasonable. The food is below standard.
A tough piece of spiced steak with a gratin for the main prize.A fresh salad and fries or something are not included, you can order it separately.
Turtufo? Grilled vegetables? Truffle is not included, and the vegetables could be counted on one finger.
Paid a lot for little.
