Very pleasant and relaxing, excellent cuisine and wonderful spa.

The area, garden, scenery, design of the interior is really beautiful. However, we booked the Sunday brunch last week. So actually during Covid-19. I have been here before and I have to say that we were very surprised by the low level of quality in the service staff compared with my previous visits. Very slow and not attentive at all. The (Turkish) ladies behind the buffet were very friendly and helpfull. But the rest was really below expectation. The taste of food was also not what we were expecting. Below avarage!

Super hotel in a beautiful location, beautiful rooms one by one. Friendly welcome with a glass of cava. Beautiful wellness section. Here is even your car put away for you. Everything tip top in order. We have given here our wedding party, everything to the last detail taken care of. Definitely recommended the restaurant two stars ......

We had a wonderful stay. No problem to report (it's rare!). The staff are very friendly and very professional.
Pool and spa facilities are very well maintained and everything is spotlessly clean.




We also have the advantage of being close to the spa facilities (so we can go there directly in a bathrobe without having to change on the spot) and, another little 'extra', the WC is separate from the bathroom (which has an Italian shower. double knob).

Nice location only our service was a bit disappointing. All tables were provided with our coffee not! I had to ask for it myself. This was at breakfast.

Very stuffy inside and the doors are not allowed to open. I have not been in the restaurant. We had a wedding there and 80% of the people were way too hot. Your response is not relevant.

Rooms and staff totally good but am not happy with the food in the restaurant. I love that not only my plates but also my food is hot when it is served and that was not the case at all. That detracted greatly from the dishes

What a beautiful quiet place in Belgium so close to Maastricht. Now only enjoyed the terrace. Try the inviting menu next time.

Very charming place.The food and service at the restaurant (bistrot) were excellent. The spa is good (1 sauna, 1 hammam, 1jacuzzi and 1 pool) and as a lot of space. There is a lot of walking possible around but unfortunateky for usa the weather was not on our side. The room are cosy, eventhough the bathroom might lack a little bit of intimacy to be perfect (in my sense).

Super relax. Good food. Beautiful accommodation, green framework. Quiet. The full package!

Great stay. The restaurant La Source is amazing, but the brewery is much less. The setting is splendid. Beautiful excursions in perspectives. Take your bike.

First things first: the food, the service & the whole experience are exceptional and worth the trip. We enjoyed that (we visited mid-week, we are a couple of 2 and had something very special to celebrate).

Update of my review 2 days after our trip:
I had published my initial review (see below) directly after leaving the restaurant (around midnight), and I was honestly impressed when the staff proactively adressed my complaint during checkout (just a few hours later). They explained what happened and apologized for what went wrong, and also the guest manager proactively joined this conversation. I really appreciate and hence i feel my review needed an update.

I have to admit that this was an unpleasant surprise, knowing that we paid 670 per person to have a worry-free 2 day stay.Yet they need to reconsider the package offered.

Conclusion : this is a really magical place, offering top-notch food, spa & hotel room and the staff serving are super.

La butte aux bois is one of the most romantic hotel that we ever visit. The service, the food, the rooms, the welnesscenter, .... Everything was super.

You cannot fail to live this highly recommended experience!

Domaine La Villa offers several pleasures for the mouth and body.
Located close to the Dutch border and the city of Maastricht, the Estate welcomes guests of all nationalities.

5) indoor and outdoor sports activities (cycling, horseback riding, walks) for all tastes in the Hoge Kempen National Park
6) the possibility of shopping at the chic Outlet of Maasmechelen Village about ten kilometers away or in the beautiful Dutch city of Maastricht which is certainly worth a visit.
7) You add to this a few uncovered outdoor terraces intended to welcome you for meals and / or refreshments with beautiful views of the wooded gardens, the pond and the art sculptures.
In short, a world of conviviality where style and nature come together in perfect harmony. You are strongly advised to visit this place!

Overrated hotel. Very good at taking money for every possible request even though I had taken full package hotel+spa package+2 star restaurant (I have not digested yet that you have to add an extra 15euros for nail color although you have booked a very expensive spa package that includes a pedicure...) but not good at ensuring attention to customer experience (our dietary requirements were completely messed up, we had to beg for an extra 15mn for checkout time although we were late because of their own delay at the spa...). You get a phone call from customer relations to understand what went wrong, they investigate and then come back saying : we re sorry, but our employees just followed the rules. Well let me give you a tip: change the rules especially when s/o books the full Monty

You are in another world of quality. We did not have the financial side to manage but you are above the basket.
Quality variety and good taste are at the rendezvous.
Attention a little normal considering the label Ralais and Castle.

Had a lovely lunch with 2 of our children. Was a welcome distraction. Good kitchen. Very surprising dishes, perfect service and on this terrace you can completely relax and forget the unpleasant things in life for a while.

Super nice rooms, very friendly service and fantastic breakfast. Everything is in tip-top order here. Expensive, but definitely worth it!

Spent a weekend overnight with the time for 2 package. Nothing to complain about: super service, everything is noticed and immediately addressed / resolved. Slept super well, never experienced such an extensive breakfast buffet.
The spa and treatments are also worthwhile. Just bear in mind it is a treatment center with a little bit of wellness and not a big wellness center where they also do treatments.

Not cheap, but no complaining afterwards.
