My dad brought me here for lunch. I'm visiting from Wisconsin. I had the citrus salmon, rice, & fried spinach; absolutely delicious. Only thing I didn't like was the taste of the water.

The BEST seafood chowder. The location can't be beat on the beach and the food is 5 star. I've had different meal selections each time I go and I've been impressed each time. I drive out of my way to hit this place everytime I'm in the area. Attached pic is my view from one of their tables.

We just had our wedding and reception at The Reef. Everything was perfect! The staff was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed and the guests were taken care of. They exceeded our expectations and gave us an amazing day!

I called to inquire if this restaurant had to go service and I stopped in and asked again and I was told both times they offered to go orders. When I was ready to order before 6pm. I was told by the General Manger they were not taking to go orders. My question was this What does it matter if I took my meal to go or eat it there. They had open tables. I only needed to order for one person. As far as I m concerned this is poor customer service coming from a up scale restaurant. I frequent this area of North Beach and I will never spend .01 here again. Extremely disappointed!

The views here are spectacular - right on the beach. We attended for an event and the food was good. The service was very nice and the servers did a great job of keeping everyone fed and happy.

Excellent dining. View 100%, Staff 100%, Food quality and plating 100%, Bar 100%. Costly but well worth it. Try and get a sunset outdoor seating on one of the decks. Eastern exposure so you don't see the sun, but if there is any cloud formation above the sea... wow!

Beyond amazing brunch! Bottomless mimosas, bacon, sausage, salmon, waffles, fruit, cheese, potatoes, on and on and on....something for everyone and enough to feed a kingdom. Beautiful seating available on the patio overlooking the Atlantic. #BestBDayBrunchEver

I attended a wedding here this month and was very disappointed in the accommodations or better worded lack of accommodations. I seriously hope my friend was given some sort of refund for the horrible service she received. First, there was no room for her to change into her wedding dress as they had first indicated when booking so they put up a couple of sliders in the women's public bathroom entrance, what a nightmare for her, restaurant goers coming in and out while she and her wedding party are trying to get dressed. Not to mention how very confused the patrons were as to where to go to use the restroom after seeing her getting ready. There was no AC in that room so it made putting on final touches very difficult. Poor Bride had to sit and wait for over an hour in the heat of that room before the ceremony. Then the dinner in the private room upstairs left a lot to be desired. The staff were extremely slow getting everyone's food out and they even started running out of food after only serving 10 people. Now, I don't know what my friend spent per plate but what everyone got was not worth it. The last part of the group didn't even get napkins they must have ran out for the last 8 people. You got 4 tiny pieces of potato, 6 green beans and the main dish, mine was Hallibut, the fish was rubbery and inedible. . It took 45 minutes for everyone to get their meals and by that time the Bride and Groom were finished and ready to cut the cake while guests were still being served dinner. The cake service was a disaster also. The Bride and Groom did their thing and then the staff were to cut and serve guests. That didn't happen. We had to track the staff down for the hundredth time as they always seemed to disappear behind a curtain for long periods of time to do I don't know what. Guests were starting to leave after about 45 minutes of waiting for cake after the Bride and Groom did their thing and were outside taking pictures. I feel so bad for my friend that this place ruined her special day and then on top of it charged her as she was leaving the venue for extra champagne they opened without her permission. Point to all of this is DO NOT have your Wedding here unless you want to be disappointed and overcharged.

Horrible Horrible Horrible. I checked several restaurants in the area that were located on the water, but there weren t many that opened prior to supper times. 4PM) I chose this restaurant because of the spectacular views.
Gee did I make the wrong choice.
The place was dead inside with a
Nearly empty parking lot, service should have been impeccable. However, the service wasn t even mediocre, the fries were gross and non edible. The blackened Mahi was okay .

Good

What a wonderful restaurant! Blase was an excellent server! He was able to answer all our questions and made our experience great. The food was delicious! The friend green tomatoes and the Imperial Shrimp were so good, the food was so fresh. To top it off the salted caramel cheesecake was the best! Will definitely be back!

Enjoyed the view, casual atmosphere, but not too casual, so dress-up if you want to, or dress casual. Food was very good. We will be going back. Parking lot is small, but there is parking on the other side of the road too.

My girlfriend and I spent New Year's Eve over in St Augustine and we decided to visit the Reef for lunch. I ordered conch fritters as an appetizer.... Let me tell you.. I didn't know if I was eating hush puppies or what, but it was definitely NOT conch fritters. I was eating a bunch of deep fried dough balls with tartar sauce!!! What happened to the cocktail sauce?? That's what they come with!!. It was just a bad a experience from the very beginning. Sadly, they don't have the slightlest idea what conch fritters are or maybe they were just cheap to put conch in those puppies. I should have restrained myself from ordering anything else, but I didn't want to ruin it for my lady, so I had a fish sandwich..... It was very dried not to mention I had to wait more than 15 minutes for it. ....the fries actually made it up for it. Bottom line, I was not a happy camper at all having lunch there!! A nice BK would've done just fine... At least I knew what it was coming. I do not recommend this place to spend your money on. Find a different place!!

My first time here I came an hour before closing on a Friday night, it was not busy quiet, peaceful we sat outside the waves crashing on the sand it was the most peaceful experience. Having said that we started with the fried green tomatoes with a zesty sauce and Sirracha wow! The perfect blend of everything, my wife and I both had the salmon with red peppers and mandarin slices grilled on a bed of spinach coated in a olive oil delight with yellow saffron rice, every bite was delicious! The service was impeccable! At this point everything was so good I had to get dessert! I particularly enjoyed their Sonoma Chardonnay and the dr loosens German Riesling omg this place is not only Romantic but also at an affordable restaurant for class! This place serves customers with finesse!

Little bit of a wait to order....I was done with an entire glass of wine before we could even order an appetizer... mind you i starved all day for 6 pm resrrvation dinner but Fran(?) Was so sweet and loved her attitude. Was hoping to sit outside, but it was too cold and called ahead for reservation as it was our anniversary. They did NOT accommodate the window seating my husband asked for. :/ strike 2 ....Tuna was above average. Prime rib was tough, disappointing. Hubby liked his 4 scallop/$30....View amazing. I'd probably check somewhere else before laying out $125+ again since we didn't get the table we asked for and it was an occasion, called days ahead.

Such a awesome beach restaurant, food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! Went on a Saturday night and didn t have to wait to sit inside but it was well over a hour wait to sit outside. So if you want to sit out overlooking the beach be prepared to wait!

We were staying in SA for our 30Y wedding anniversary and dined here with another couple. The waiter was excellent and food was world class. The delicious seafood chowder was rich, slightly spicy and had adequate seafood. Two of us had the seafood risotto with lobster & shrimp. It was rich & creamy with big shrimp and a really nice sauce. The homemade bread here is also great. Great views of the Atlantic Ocean.

On September 5th we went to have dinner here with a party of 8 and we ignored so we left and went to CAPS where we had wonderful service. Last night we were a party of two we were seated promptly ( no crowds), 20 minutes later we had still not been waited on...we asked another waitress and she explained she wasn't our server * the hostess came by and never addressed us even though she could clearly see we had not yet been served still with menus on the table nor did she address the waitress that was busy socializing at the bar, as we walked out to find another restaurant not one staff member offered assistance. I sent a private email to the restaurant and no reply, evidently they are not concerned with their lack of customer service.

The venue is sitting on a beautiful location...the magic STOPS there...the food was over priced and not cooked properly with no flavor...the portions are also small....SAVE YOUR MONEY

We ate there last night we had a group of 5 for a birthday celebration. We all loved our food and our waiter ( Jeffrey ) was quick and accommodating. I am posting because we saw some not-so great reviews before we went. So glad we went anyway. I highly recommend this restaurant! Great music in the bar later!

Delicious food and nice wine were complemented by a view of the ocean! Service was prompt, friendly and professional. The layout allows most tables to have a nice view. The atmosphere was comfortable and professional, perfect for casual dining or taking someone special on a date with nice music at a reasonable level in the background. My girlfriend and I went at lunchtime to watch the offshore sailboat races going on as part of St. Augustine Race Week. We had mussels in a saffron cream sauce for a starter. They were delicious and cooked just right. For our main meal we ordered a burger (maybe strange at a seafood place, but gives variety and options for those allergic to shellfish) cooked medium, which was perfectly cooked, and the pesto shrimp pasta special, also perfectly cooked. The wine selection was very nice, and we ordered a glass of J. Lohr Sauvignon Blanc. A dessert of moist and rich chocolate cake was the perfect finish.

Very nice cozy place. Great place to hide from the afternoon sun.
The Grouper under balsamic sauce for 19$ is the best one I've ever had. And rice is amazing in Risotto style, soft and creamy. Had a great time, sitting on the patio watching the beach and no annoying music of any kind, just waves and great service.
Food came out hot and and just right.
Server Chris, was timely and made my ICED COFFEES that was not on the menu and gave me a refill to go too.
Love it, will come back when I am in the area.

First time I have visited here and I will definitely return but maybe on not such an extremely hot and humid afternoon. The inside looks ok but this place for me was all about the outside patio overlooking the ocean. Had a couple of local beers and the Calamari and mussels which were both excellent although the Calamari portion was a little on the small side.

We had an awesome time at the Reef. Drinks, appetizers and dinner was wonderful. The prime rib was cooked perfectly.and the steamed mussels were fabulous! We enjoyed everything including the very professional waiter David, that made our dining experience the absolute best. Thanks Reef we wI'll return.

I absolutely loves this place. Wonderful ambience. But the food was amazing. Seafood was fresh, and the sauteed spinach was delicious. And they had a special dessert, peppermint cheesecake with chocolate Graham crust and chocolate sauce drizzled on it. I ate all but one bite that my husband ate. Best seafood I've had in a very long time!!!

Gorgeous views and the food is great quality, high end menu options for brunch. You get a complimentary mimosa or poinsettia, Danish and fruit cup if you order from the brunch menu. It's pretty far out driving down A1A, but there is beach access if you plan to stay and service was decent. I'd reccomend!

Went back yesterday to enjoy all they offer, not sure what is happening, used a green spring mix for the Cesar, heavy sprinkle of cheese to cover up, very very light on the dressing,(uck) seafood pasta was missing the large shell clams(who knows why?) , the sauce that was very tasty last time this time was very thick (like Elmer's glue). Maybe lost their Culinary manager? Not going back too costly for such , oh yes the server did say, we were out of romaine

Love their Sunday brunch, it is on the more expensive side, but you get a fantastic value with a large variety of food and the quality is incredible. Between the great beach views and food it is my favorite place to get brunch.

Beautiful ocean views are the highlight here. Stay away from fried foods and enjoy several nice seafood entrees. Service is mixed, as sometimes the servers seem overwhelmed. All in all, a nice experience when you have the time to enjoy it.

Fish was undercooked. Sent it back second time fish was OK BUT the batter was only partially cooked. Still had uncooked batter. .
Peeled off the batter and ate as much of the fish as I could.
Won't go back. To many good restaurants in the area

So, on vacation and this was close. We decided to check it out. The location is amazing and you can sit outside on the deck and listen to the ocean. That was the best part of this evening.

The crab legs were done perfectly and so was the grouper I had. It is pretty pricey and the portion of grouper was small but it was tasty. I would give it more stars if the price was more reasonable. It was not crowded and the wait was long for everything.

I didn't care for the spanish rice or the broccoli which went back the way it came.

I had fried green tomatoes. One or two of them had black seeds in them and I didn't eat it. The sauces that came with them will melt your face off if you don't do spicy.

All in all, we paid almost 90 dollars for a meal that we mostly didn't eat and didn't want to take home. The only thing we ate was the fish and crab meat. The rest just was not memorable.

The staff was kind but left us waiting for more water, for our food, for the bill; and that is just unacceptable for a meal that costly.
