So beautiful! Loved exploring and hiking through the Redwoods.
Overly foggy on the coast in August. But still beautiful. Plenty of places to find some quiet solitude and be awed by nature... Didn't love dirt roads to these two places but they're still worth the visit: Fern Canyon and Stout Grove for old growth redwoods. 18/19 would visit again.
Honestly, can't even begin to describe. Actually it's pretty impossible. It's a must see place to really grasp how big these trees are.
Any of the Redwoods Parks are worth exploring. They are truly inspiring!
This is literally a one of a kind in the world. World's gallery trees are here.
Bring an umbrella, and drive carefully. But it's totally awesome and worth the trip!
Spectacular! Land of Giants! Narrow road for big dually truck go slow but forest hypnotized you from the first tree! Awesome history! Don't miss it!
What's not to love about seeing some of the largest trees on the planet. It really gives you perspective on just how small we are.
A truly unique place. The only downside is that it is in a miserable part of our country.
Way more trees than I thought. Gonna wanna bring comfy shoes. Serves rice pudding but does not take Apple Pay.
Very beautiful, suitable for the whole family to go, beautiful park worth visiting
Beautiful hikes! The trees and trails are amazing! Little muddy, so be prepared, but more than worth it!
Peaceful place every person on earth should visit these place
This park is amazing. Everyone should visit it at least once.
Amazing to see these trees that are the tallest living things in the planet. Such a unique, unforgettable place.
Always a wonderful place to visit!! I recommend it for everyone
The roadways through the forest are not meant for honda accords. I was expecting bigger trees tbh.
You gotta see how big these trees are, in person. Great trails to hike.
This place is amazing! You never image the experience when you just stand under the giant trees, they are thousands of years and telling the history of this land. Definitely you can just think it is Titans meeting by viewing some pics
Redwood for family's picnic & fishing & volleyball & surfing....nice place..
Walking through the Redwoods National Park brings you back to a time when man didn't dominate nature, but when nature dominated man. The sheer size of these giant trees truly makes you respect mother nature even more.
At many points I felt like I was walking through a scene in Jurassic Park, and going around corners I half expected to run into a prehistoric monster or creature! This place lets you truly immerse yourself in nature, extremely peaceful and beautiful.
The trees were amazing and overwhelmingly beautiful a must see in your lifetime
The most breathtaking experience I have ever had. Went with Ken Kasper the first time & i had cancer. This time with my girl Char.
The place IS beautiful dont get me wrong. But if you have ANY expectation of nice relaxed & quiet camping experience, do NOT stay here its absolutely ridiculous.
Listening to dogs barking and screaming kids from sun up to sun down is horrible.
Worst camping experience on our entire cross country trip, will not be back again.
One of the highlights and great natural wonders of the United States, this legendary location lives up to its hype. Redwood National and State Parks is one of the pre-eminent must-visit locations in the United States. After a few minutes in a quiet redwood grove where your mind is lifted and your spirits soar, you will understand. But it is more than just the redwoods. Many herds of Roosevelt Elk, spectacular ocean and coastal scenery, and lush canyons make this place even better.
Redwood is amazing and you will never believe how big these trees are until you see them yourself
Awsome no charge amazing place they have driving trails
Breathtakingly beautiful. A memory that will stay with me forever. Probably my favorite place to walk through is Stout Memorial Grove.
What's not to love about giant redwood trees ? This place is magical!
Beautiful hiking trails. Red wood trees amazes everyone who visits them.
So beautiful. The trees and landscape are breathtaking night or day. Bluffs right against the beach, canyons a walk inland and elk everywhere.
Beautiful and serene walk to the falls. While the falls are pretty, this walk is done for the journey, not the destination.
The park rangers were very helpful in mapping out an appropriate hike for my family and I to see some big trees.
I guess I was surprised Burlington Park is open now. It was closed the last 2 times I was in the neighborhood.
Absolutely beautiful. Wish I had more time there to explore.
It's about a 5 hour drive from San Jose, but is sooo worth it!!
So peaceful, the redwoods, the ocean the drive...
A perfect road trip for a three day weekend
Truly one of the most magical forest on the planet... And almost as old. If you've never been, come. It is more than words and pictures can share.
Great parks with much more variety in flora and fauna than you might expect from the name.
A nice walk in a redwood forest with silver ferns. It is free to walk tracks in groundlevel but for the tree walk above the ground it costs some.
Redwood Park Fern Canyon is a very primitive narrow valley. The mountain walls on both sides are covered with various values vertically down. You can see the stream flowing quietly from the cliff to the ground. It is a great place to go on foot, don't worry about the sun.
At this park there are a ton of hiking trails and you can hike to the Boyscout tree which is one of the biggest trees in the forest. It is a long hike but definitely worth it. If you've never seen the Redwoods before...when you first get into the trees you feel like you're in a world of Jurassic Park because you feel so tiny and the ferns and trees around you are so big.
Back in 2010 we arrived at the Stout Grove on July 4th Weekend to discover the park closed to visitors. We assumed it was due to the holiday and the desire to keep the park safe from activities related to the 4th of July. This past week, August 2014, we made a road trip starting from Seaside Oregon down the Pacific Coast and spent a few hours visiting the Stout Grove. There is really only one word - spectacular. It was worth the wait and worth the effort. The drive up Howland Rd from Crescent City is like a journey through an ancient land. The trees line the road and seem to become more dense and more enormous with each corner. When we arrived at the end of the road we found a parking spot and when for a walk through the Stout Grove. The environment and trees are amazing. Words dot not prepare your mind for the vision your eyes will deliver.
The trees here are the tallest in the world and you stand in awe of their splendor. It is hard to imagine than many of them stood here over 2000 years ago.
Forests invigorate me. One breath of this place is like a tonic. Go on the scenic drive, it's worth it. The visitors' center had lots of good info & swag, and good examples of all the tree types to see the differences. Find hiking paths, and take 'em, at least the short ones, they are worth it if you like nature.
Trees are beautiful and the one trail we hiked was well maintained. As for the entire park my experience was brief but from what i saw along this road in the park I wasn t overly impressed. Not as much to it as I was expecting and not much info posted to go off of while your here. The ranger station was closed at the time and most of the side roads were also closed and locked. Aside from the first main trail you come across at the beginning not a lot to see unless you research before hand or already know the area well. Also you need permits to hike and camp here but I wasn t able to obtain any online because you are required to do so weeks in advance even though there wasn t soul around in the hole park. Do your research in advance and get permits setup long before any impromptu visits to save yourself from wasting your time. Personally I d just recommend going to some of the other nearby redwood locations instead because they seem much better.
Fabulous place for hiking! Absolutely gorgeous, can't recommend it enough.
You need to see the old redwoods before you die or they do.
It's different from other national park. The huge trees. It's amazing.
Beautiful. The Big Trees Trail was a short but worth it hike through an old forest grove with mossy maple undergrowth. If you aren't able to get a pass, the surrounding hikes are just as stunning.
Absolutely breath taking. Such a beautiful drive! Nice spot to stop and use the bathrooms and find a good hike to take.
Once in a lifetime experience, much worth the long drive!
The giant forests of Redwood National and State Parks served as the backdrop for planet Endor, aka home of the Ewoks, in the movie Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
