Great outdoor adventure for anyone! We visited in beginning of June, nice misty, cloudy, and perfect for hiking. There were too many trails, fishing, beaches, and activities for us to complete in one week. The scenic highway is worth the drive but not recommended for those who become nauseated with twist and loops. We will return and begin another memorable family trip. Highly recommend Redwoods, visit before it is lost.

Multiple visitor centers with great exhibits and information. Large parks with lots of trails and beaches. Wildlife viewing (mostly elk) and of course really big trees. A must see if you are in the area.

Words can't really describe how breath takely beautiful this park is! The redwoods are a sight to behold and the trails are very nice and well marked. The park is clean, and there are plenty of restrooms available. The visitor's center has great maps for free. There is a lot of great historical information provided too.

My favorite national park and it will be yours too. You will see Roosevelt Elk and hike amongst giants. Too bad the loggers continue to cut the redwoods down and have destroyed the coastal ecosystem in 100 years. Great work for the volunteers, park staff, Redwood Conservancy in all their work and dedication. You can take a short trail and be reminded of why you exist or take a long hike and remember why existence is. The rainy season makes this place so much better. Take the auto trail and see a washed out bridge. Take your time in this park and respect the trees!

If you're driving by but don't have time to spend the whole day, at least take the Avenue of the Giants. It runs parallel to 101 for about 30 miles and has an auto tour pamphlet available at either end.

California's Redwood National and State Parks portrayed the Forest Moon of Endor, the Ewoks home world, in Return of the Jedi. Several scenes, such as the speeder bike chase and the Ewok ambush, were shot in the parks many redwood groves in Marin County, which is close to Lucas s home at Skywalker Ranch.

If you've been been here then this is a real treat. If you don't want to pay to see big trees then go to Walker street.. That's free with some wonderful paths and it's almost always quiet there. Show up early to enjoy it by yourself or with your family and friends.

As someone who has grown accustomed to strolling through forests of huge trees in Washington, this place redefined what a huge tree is. There are hundreds of miles of trails in the Redwood Parks, from easy to strenuous. Some of the best trails lead from near the Prairie Creek Visitor Center to the coast, about 12 to 18 miles. Easy trails like the Lady Bird Johnson Trail are great for the whole family, and offer giants. Walking through these old forests and the voluminous biome is awe-inspiring. Fern Canyon along the coast is a wonder in itself as well. Expect a good deal of fog, even in the summer months. To catch a herd of elk check often near Elk Meadow in the morning and mid afternoon but don't get too close.

More to see than you can fit in. I would recommend doing some of the hikes. Pick one, they are all likely to be beautiful. We stayed close to Crescent City and the sights to see were fantastic.

A place you need to go see at least once in your lifetime. It s so amazing being among these unbelievably large trees that have lived for centuries. You feel so small in the best way possible. No photo can do justice to the experience, you really have to see it in person to feel all the wonder of this forest.

One of the most beautiful parks I've ever been to. Absolutely breathtaking. Many of the campsites we saw had handicapped spots and had trails that some people with disabilities could easily travel. That was great to see a place make accommodations to include people of all ages and abilities. The visitor centers were staffed by friendly and courteous employees and volunteers, who were treasure troves of information. We went during a slow time of year so I can see this park be packed with tourists in the summer. The only negative was seeing those who don't care about the environment like we did and saw debris and garbage on some of the trails we hiked. Bring a small garbage bag with you. Wasn't fun carrying around someone else's empty water bottle and discarded granola wrappers but at least we left it better than we found it.

Breathtakingly beautiful!! This is the type of place you go to if you love trees especially redwoods. We mostly stayed at elk prairie campground which offers campsites in the forest along a creek. So gorgeous full of moss and ferns this place is definitely like stepping back into time before concrete jungles dominated the earth. A must see for sure and temperate climate is most definitely a plus.

We got the permit to drive to the tall trees trail. I would highly recommend it. It was beautiful and uncrowded. It is such a peaceful place to relax. I definently want to return to backpack there.

Amazing history, incredibly tall trees, and the coast line will take your breath away. There were elk Blacktail deer and right outside of the state and national park you can do the drive through the tree thing. Seeing that large of trees on that beautiful coast line is some thing a movie director dreams
