Wow...Excellent food and even better service. Don't let the outside fool you. Inside is really nice.

Great food with perfect for lunch proportions. Service was also quick even during lunch rush. Will be back.
Good food, friendly prompt service. I looked the selection. The prices are a little more than I'd generally spend for a lunch but this was a special occasion, my Moms Birthday, and she really likes this place. This was my 1st time to eat here and I was impressed. Just thought maybe the outside of the restaurant could use a little "upkeep".
Food was okay. Service was good but it was so dark in there you could hardly see the menus
Awesome food great atmosphere great service I loved it
I used to work here years ago and they are still getting better and have the best sushi in Houston.
really good sushi. weird ass building. but good food.
Food was awesome! Manager and owner both visited our table. We sat upstairs near a dark corner that was confortable. We will be back!
Tempura shrimp were wonderful. Seafood gumbo was delicious but needed more cuttings.
Terrible and tasteless. I would go to Red Lobster before I go back to this place. Sushi might be good, but their seafood is horrible!!! HORRIBLE!
Until the last visit I would have given them four or five. For what it's worth don't try the shrimp and grits.
LOVE this place. Best Prime Rib in this area, as well as awesome seafood.
I seriously can t say enough about this place. Our experience was beyond amazing. Prices and portion size are great, presentation was spectacular, and the service was impeccable. Five star restaurant quality food and service for the price of a night at Chili s. Our server Thomas was incredible, honestly best server I ve ever had.
MY wife and I spent our 37th wedding anniversary here at Redfish Grill. Our meals were creative and delicious. the service was prompt and courteous. Dinning here at Redfish Grill the staff makes every meal your special occasion. We really had a wonderful time and look forward to returning again soon.
Food was good but expensive. Service could have been better
It's all a little different from the norm but really good. Haven't tried the sushi yet though.
This place has become a weekly staple. I love the grilled seasoning but the fried is amazing too.
Amazing food. Kim was our server and she was great. All their rolls come with 12 pieces. The quality of the service and the food was worth the price. Strongly recommended.
The food is fresh, every single time - even during a pandemic. Some choices aren't available but there are still a great variety.. We had sushi for starters, wine, au gratin salmon, and sushi for dinner. The sushi tasted fresh with delicious sauces and the salmon was moist and delicious.
Great food and good service. Unique menu choices and layout. We were pleased with the selection and our choices. We will definitely be back soon.
Food was phenomenal!! Highly recommend! The reason for 4 star is because their was no waiter and I had to ask for one. Once Mason arrived, everything was perfect.....5 stars to Mason, you did an awesome job!
I've been here three times and everytime has been delicious. Although, this last time we had a hiccup with our food going to the wrong table, it was worth the wait to have it remade. The manager was very nice and made the experience pleasant.Tonight, I had the Salmon Au Gratin and my husband had the Blackened Redfish with Chipotle Crabmeat sauce, both were absolutely delicious. Finishing with the White Chocolate Bread pudding I believe. We will definitely be back.
Wow. Where do I begin? Bad driveway that will tear out lower riding cars, the front walk/entrance that was being rehabbed DURING operating hours(they close at 2:30 until 5), the menu items that were NOT available (too many to count), or condescending and snarky waitress? Party of 4 and our first time there. It will be my last and I dare say the same for a few others in the group. Best food in the world will never get tasted if the waitress makes you mad before you order. Nothing I had was impressive enough to override all of the above. Yes Ms Snarky honey, you re one of those type of restaurants. ONE TIME ONLY!
We haven't had anything to our disliking here. Highly recommended!
Food is good prices are reasonable and the sushi is fresh
We tried eating dinner here last night but unfortunately we won't be returning. After 10 minutes of being sat by the hostess at the sushi bar, we weren't even so much given a hello. We paid for a sitter so we could have a date night, were hungry and on a time crunch so we had to leave. The icing on the cake on this horrible experience was the same hostess that sat us yelled "Have a great evening!" as we walked out. Really? We were literally ignored and now you want to talk to us? I hope this restaurant gets it's priorities in order if they expect to have happy customers. Sadly, we were not.
Try their first cracker roll! It's an extremely large roll so make sure you bring someone to share it with!
Very good food, just needs to update the outside building. But will eat here again soon.
Tomatoes do NOT belong in gumbo!
Average at best.
Certainly my favorite sushi restaurant in the area. Always fresh with great versions of rolls, sushi, sashimi, hand rolls soups and salads. Always have other options for those that do not eat sushi so that this place is great for groups. Ever since they fixed the parking lot arrangement it is much simpler and easier to get in and out.
Great gourmet food made with quality seafood at fair prices
I was told to never eat at restaurants that are shaped like boats.
This has been, by far, the best gastric experience I've ever had. I got the lamb. The spinach was beautifully infused with flavor, the mashed potatoes had a certain je-ne-sais-quas. The lamb was perfectly seared. And the presentation was immaculate.
Hubby got the lobster, I'm told it was yummy.
Really, really wanted to eat the flower but I didnt have room for dessert
Oh and the lobster bisque was incredibly hearty.
It was a beautiful pre-Valentine's dinner.
Hubby keeps making fun of me for abstaining from this place for 4 months since moving to the area just based on it being "boat-shaped"
Love the food. Nice small menu and great restaurant with great customer service
The sushi was delicious, and tasted fresh. If you're going there for a workday lunch, leave lots of time, and order appies, as they do get quite busy. worth the wait though.
You better come here hungry if you're going to order sushi. Their rolls are literally twice the size of what the normal sushi eater is accustomed to. We've only been here twice, but the drinks, food and service have been great so far. We'll definitely come back!
Service was great! Food was $h!+ On a stick. Won't go back and tempt fate again.
I've been to a lot of sushi places in Houston and this is the best place for rolls. I don't like nigiri too much, so I can't comment there. The rolls are always fresh. My only complaint is that the ones that they claim are spicy aren't that spicy. Maybe my palate is just used to really spicy foods. The non-sushi items on the menu are great as well! Oh and parking can be a pain. If it's full, I park over at Lowe's.
Great food. It was early, so service was very fast.
Great food and has a comfy comzy vibe. Manager was nice and thank you for serving me. Will be back!
I love going here because their seafood is always delicious and presentation of there special and main courses are on point. Their portion sizes are just right, not too much and not too little. My family and I always come back on special occasions.
Sushi is mediocre and overpriced. Their website is misleading with prices below the actual price.
Wow! You're not going to find a better sushi and seafood grill in North Houston. We started with the amazing and surprisingly delicious Spicy bacon wrapped dates, stuffed with blue cheese and walnuts, good enough to get for dessert. Also enjoyed the very fresh calamari with homemade marinara sauce as our appetizer. For our entrees we ordered the Ocean Smoke which has a fancy presentation with a smoke filled bowl over it and it's removed at your table, the scent was like sitting at an ocean side campfire and you could really taste the smokey flavor throughout the perfectly cooked shrimp and scallops. The Silver Fish is a baked twist on sushi filled with shrimp, avocado and cream cheese but the best part is the baked topping with a few types of fish toasted along the top. If you're unsure of sushi, this is a good roll to try. The food along earned the 5 stars and on top of that the service was outstanding. We made reservations for the upstairs which is bit fancier than the downstairs tiki room motif. We love checking out the wall murals of the "regulars" done in caracature paint. The owners also personally check on each table to make sure everything is great. Definitely our go-to for good sushi.
Always my favorite sushi place, even if you are not a fan of fish, try the red cow roll. It's the only way my wife will go.
This place was so great! I've only had the sushi but it was fabulous and amazingly fresh. As a person who doesn't usually like fish and can only have fresh sushi that doesn't smell or taste "fishy", this was perfect. My roll (the Symphony Roll) had fabulous flavor and looked amazing upon arrival too. The food did take a while to come out but knowing how fresh it was totally made up for it.
From the outside it doesn't look like much and the parking area leaves more to be desired (little hard to get to), however once you head upstairs it's a nice cute area decorated in a fun way with caricatures on the walls.
Definitely will go back and recommend to others!
Waited forever to just get seated at the sushi bar. Immediately after leaving my husband and I were both sick and in the bathroom all night. Not to mention overpriced and overrated.
Big let down. This place looked promising but the food was a terrible disappointment and we will never return. My Cioppino was like ketchup mixed with a spoonful of BBQ sauce and a broken toe of a crab was included along with one very rubbery shrimp. Giant let down...I wish they made a proper Cioppino.
The sushi was not fresh either and my husband had to spit it out his mouth for fear of food poisoning. The oysters Rockefeller we're another unedible dish that we sent back. I wish the owners would revisit their food quality and recipes.
Unexpectedly great. Food looks really top shelf and taste doesn't disappoint. For seafood, steak and sushi this is the place.
Always an incredible experience at Redfish, I can't wait to try more of their dishes! I highly recommend the sushi
Second time to try this place and will never come back. First time tried a seafood second time sushi both were fails.
The Coho salmon in lemon butter sauce was amazing. Crispy and soft, I ate every last bit.
Not a fan of the sauteed vegetables, it was more of lettuce, spinach, and onions. That to me is not vegetables, but I ate them all too.
We also had the stuffed mushrooms and they to me were very good.
If I could I would give them less than one star. I will never set foot in the place again. I made a reservation for after my Mother's viewing for 25 at 8:30 on a Sunday . They took the reservation. Everything seemed great. The hours on google maps said they closed at 9:30. I thought it was cutting it close but we had an hour to get everything ordered. I figured they would say something when I made the reservation if this was going to be a problem. So we arrive a few minutes before 8:30 and we're told that the kitchen closed at 9:00 and that we had to have our order in by 8:45. They would have called back but the hostess erased the caller ID. On one of the worst days of my life they made things so much worse. My entire family was arriving and I had to tell them we have no where to eat. They should have honored my reservation and kept the kitchen opened. Totally lack of professionalism.
seafood here - very tasty. This place is absolutely one of my favorites. I'll return with my friends. This place has a cool feel to it.
Wonderful fine dining. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Food was fabulous!
I will jump at any opportunity to come to Redfish. It's my favorite spot for both seafood and sushi. The selection is outstanding and you can some very unique plates. I love the grouper with the keylime wasabi sauce, its amazing. Changs Sea Bass is unbelievable too. I don't think I've ever ordered anything I was not thoroughly satisfied with. It's a great place to take a client to lunch to impress them especially if you eat upstairs. Enjoy!
The food is good. The service is a problem; 1) slow, 2) delivering appetizer, salad, and dinner courses all at once, 3) waitresses are excessively "in your face" friendly doing things like sitting down at tables with people - often at the expense if not providing good service to others
The food was alright but the cleanliness was outstanding. The waitress gave us our bill before asking if we were done, I guess she had somewhere else to be. My only word of advise is to keep your receipt because our waitress added $10 to our 20% tip so I had to call the place and prove this point.
Could use an update on the deco. The lower floor is a bit tight n boring.
This place used to be one of my FAVORITE places to get sushi, but it severely let me down. Not only was my crunchy roll over cooked (with that burnt taste), but the overall experience was terrible. The waiters were rude and racist towards the bus boys that were assisting them. The clientele is predominantly English speaking, but since I speak Spanish I could understand how crappy they were being to the bus boys. It disappointed me to see, and after it happened multiple times, I was done. I looked for the manager but he was no where to be found before I had to leave. Honestly, this experience just made me realize I should take my business elsewhere.
The food is always top-notch.....super fresh fish and beautiful presentation. We had the satay sampler (3 skewers each of beef, chicken and shrimp). Hubby had the Chilean Sea Bass (incredible!) and I had the crab stuffed flounder (delicious!). This will become our go-to seafood restaurant!
Really a great restaurant and the food as very good. Went for sunday brunch/lunch and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The best sushi in the area, other dishes also great.
I have eaten here for over 5 years. Always top quality sushi, seafood, and steak. Friendly service. Too many menu favorites to list. Pock anything, you will enjoy!
Racially profiled. Terrible customer service. I asked for the firecracker and then instead of spicy salmon, I requested smoked salmon. They ended up switching EVERYTHING in the meal and I had to wait 40 minutes for the meal I requested. I was on an hour lunch break. I couldn't even eat the food. I had to take it to go. And when management came to explain the issue, she attempted to tell me wrongfully what I requested, but TWICE I told her that's not what I said. She said "Drive safe" and stormed off. I honestly felt like I was racially profiled, because every white patron was assisted with EXCELLENT customer service. I have never felt so small at a restaurant. Don't waste your time.
Packing so much quality into so small a price, is nothing short of a miracle. People often only come to rant or complain, so to have so many good reviews should tell you something... that something is to set aside a weekend date for this place. Know someone is a lover of seafood, pass on Joe's and drop by. The lower floor is a little cramped, and due to precautions, diners with children will have to eat downstairs. However, have a group of friends, and upstairs dining is a wonderful experience. The environment there is very party friendly, but if you plan on an event, please call ahead. This place is either empty or crammed, so if you want a quiet experience, take a day off and visit for lunch. It won't hit your pockets hard either. For any fan of sushi, the rolls are amazing. Firecracker and Silver King are personal favorites, and Silver King is cooked, so it's a good door opener to inquisitive sushi newcomers. The Blackened Red Fish and stuffed Flounder are good items for people who love seafood but want to stay on this side of the sea. A few children and picky-eater items are available so you don't have to skip on inviting any friend. Overall a great secret to everyone who's been, and a wonderful retirement to the heavy traffic.
Redfish literally does everything better than right.
I always loved red fish, excellent seafood dishes, even better sushi. Call and make reservations, they get busy sometimes there's a wait. I've been going here for years comma service always seems to be a bit strange comma poor manners, lack of consideration, just strange. Probably should hire some professional wait staff that could fix it.
A variety of good seafood dishes and good service at somewhat reasonable prices.
A great place for fresh, unique seafood and more. Desserts and sushi are AMAZING.
Best Sushi in Houston. Try Changs Edamame it is excellent. My favorite sushi roll is the Firecracker roll.
I haven't been here in over 5 years but won't tonight & it was just as amazing as it was 5 years ago. Great pricing for delicious sushi!
We had a wonderful Saturday night private party at Redfish Grill. Our group of 40 enjoyed a semi-private space on the second floor setup in four long tables. Rolita and her team we a pleasure to work with as we selected the menu, and they let us bring in wine for a corkage fee. The price was very fair for the four course menu, that included 4 entree options (2 fish/seafood, chicken, or filet mignon). Our guests were all raving about the meal the next day. The quality of the food served to our group was as high as we enjoy in the main dining room.
Loved this place, sushi rolls were really good and very fulfilling.
I asked for a simple substitution that was flat out refused only to hear someone 3 seats over get the same thing. The waiter told me they were a regular and came all the time. Just like that. I could never get the manager to speak to. Pretty sure they never told him. I don't understand if they are making a roll from scratch why one fish can't be replaced for another, even when I'm willing to pay a substitution charge.
