My wife and I found the casino very clean, the atmosphere was calm and somewhat reserved . Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves as the cocktail waitress looking very nice delivered our drinks with a smile, staff was wearing proper covid-19 ppp and adhering to safe practice and frequent cleaning of surfaces and temperature checks.

Worst casino I have ever been in! The staff is rude and when you ask a question they tell you they don't know. Waited to be seated at the restaurant and no one came to say hello or may I help you but stared at you and walked away. Don't bother waste of time go next door nice restaurant and Friendly staff that will greet you with a smile.
The Red Garter has had some recent renovations and is really quite nice now. They have the cheapest breakfast in Wendover and it is very good. Service was good and good always is fast and consistent. I have never stayed overnight here so I can't say much about the rooms. The Red Garter is a small casino, good if you like a subdued atmosphere. They have recently added new machines and a sports bar with a dedicated Keno area.
My family and I went to the casino this past Sunday and ate at the restaurant there. My total bill including tip was under $40 well today I see my bank account reflect an additional $20 when I called to resolve I got the typical "you'll need to speak to someone else.." Leading me to a voice mail box without an identifier. I will be disputing with my bank after 24 hours. I'm giving you the opportunity to make this right Red Garter.
Room was good, it was warm and comfortable, the doors to the hallway had the sound resilience of cardboard. You could hear every conversation in the hall and smell the cigarette smoke of every person that passed by smoking. Other than that the beds were comfortable and though they moved a lot and hit the walls every time you moved. I at least know that I was letting all the "neighbors" next door know how long I can go! Hope I kept them up too. For a $179 room, it really was more like a $68 Super 8 room, but I didn't have to drive from the casino and risk a DUI.
Love this place, I always stop here on my way through. Rooms are always clean and modern. My only real complaint would be I wish they had a microwave in the rooms.
Some of the dealers here were friendly, but most gave me the boo-boo face whenever I wanted to play some cards. Out of the five casinos in the West Wendover area, this was probably the least impressive of them. Some people recommended the restaurant, but I was turned off from my experience there to the point where I pretty much left when it was time for me to go.
Warning .. do not use the cage to withdraw money! I was there on Saturday from 10am to 4 pm and used the cage to request money because I maxed out my daily withdraw limit. You have to give them your credit card and ID and they take the cards and walk 2 windows down to process. I thought it was fishy. Anyways, I just realized that there was a withdraw of $500 on SUNDAY at a different Red Garter location, my receipt says "Hotel G201 for UTILITIES"
I called Red Garter to handle it and the non-English speaking guy says "so what do you want?" after explaining my situation and told me to call the Nugget.
No one can ever get ahold of the manager!!
Needless to say I used a prepaid/reloadable card so I have to submit a dispute in writing. UGH!
Not a bad place. Stopped there to play a little on my way through town. Won some money and left. I feel like it use to be a dive but seems nicer than I remember.
Normally would give 4 stars. But this last visit was subpar. Staff were extremely slow. Ordered off Truckers menu. Got the Prime rib. Half was pure gristle. Was way over cooked. I ordered medium rare and was almost well done.Got onion rings as were out of baked an mashed potatoe. They were covered in grease. Best part of meal was the salad.
No smoking rooms are not supposed to smell like an ashtray. Myself, wife and certainly my 11 and 15 year old son do not smoke. But in the morning we all had massive headaches and nausea. Horrible experience.
Pros: - Even for the small rooms, they were pretty nice. They look recently renovated. The layout is very welcoming. - Casino is big! Anyone who has been to Vegas has seen far bigger casinos, but for Wendover this seems to work. - Closest to vape and smoke shop nearby (Smoke Assassins). - Decent parking, even for a completely booked weekend. - Friendly staff throughout. Cons: - Not impressed by the restaurants, not counting the Beans & Brews. There are two actual restaurants inside the casino area, American and Italian, and we looked at both and chose the American, known as the Prospector Cafe. We were really hungry. It shouldn't take 10 or 15 minutes to give us a menu, and another 10 or 15 minutes where our order wasn't taken. We ended up walking out and going to the Arby's across the street. I mean I don't expect super speedy service, but damn! - The casino did not have enough 5 dollar tables for blackjack. It seems like it's high stakes play only on Friday nights. - Hallways were crampy, and you can hear the noise in them from your own room quite easily. - The elevator for the rooms has an undesirable old look to it, as if it was put into the building in the late 1970s. - Nice HDTVs in the room, its too bad that all of them currently receive a standard definition signal from HDTV sources that are cropped from 16:9 to 4:3, and downconverted to standard definition. Overall, I think things could have been a lot worse, but there's a little bit that can be improved without dire construction costs.
newly renovated classic wendover. i love it here. only billiards table at casino in wendover. all new slots. table games. rooms also got an upgrade witb the renovation. all are welcome.
A bunch of unfriendies work here; Front desk, waiters in cafe. The place needs extensive remodeling. Room was okay but nothing to write home about. The place is old and dirty. The king room rate was a little over 100 with taxes. You get what you pay for.
