Our stay was a spa break with overnight stay in a premier room - the room was close to the spa which was great, and the room was beautiful. Service was friendly - particularly in the hotel bar. We ate in the fusion restaurant which was lovely and the spa is fab - particularly impressive later on at night.

Came here to attend a wedding. Garden was beautiful, castle shaped turrets on the main building gave it charm, marquee was huge, plenty room to seat all the guests AND have a dance floor, staff are friendly and helpful. And the gents smelled like melon.. Nice touch. Didn't try the actual hotel facilities, but if i ever come back, I'll be sure to update this review with whatever wonders their rooms are packed with

My daughter booked an overnight stay in this hotel to celebrate my 65th birthday. We were both very excited. We arrived at 1200, we checked and was informed that the room will not be ready until 3pm. We were not bothered as we were just More

Nice hotel. I didn't eat there I just met a friend but the place looked very clean with a more traditional style...not modern. Spa and Golf seems very popular here too. Staff were great also

A hotel and health Spa within a stunning country backdrop. Close to Durham City. Our group was well catered for by the Carvery staff. Quite busy during our visit but this didn't detract from the service provided. Will return.

Bar lounge is very tired and in need of a refurb, however the young man in the bar was superb and sourced us some biscuits to go with our coffee despite it taking him out of his way to do so. He really made the difference and we would return based on our experience with him.

The food at the rib house was excellent, very beautiful decor throughout and a pleasant atmosphere. Staff where all friendly and helpful. The only downside (and the reason for 4/5) was the shower in the room was a trickle and took ages to warm up! It wasn't really what I was expecting from such a lovely venue.

My husband and I enjoyed an afternoon in the spa. Outstanding facilities, clean and tidy and we'll maintained.Fruit infused water was available to drink and pieces of fruit were also on offer.

Had a beautiful breakfast at the fusion restaurant with lovely helpful staff. And spent the rest of the morning in the spa and hydro pool again lovely helpful staff and I've never felt so relaxed would love to do it again

The grounds and entrance were very nice and the service and friendliness of a majority of the staff was great. This is where the good points end. Quite overpriced considering the quality. The room I stayed in was of poor quality. The paint was dull and cracked on the walls, doors and window frames, the bathroom was clean but it felt again like it had been poorly looked after over the years. We got a double bed which was actually two single beds put together, I literally mean two single mattresses put together so there was a crack in the middle of the bed you could sink into. Found plenty of dead bugs around the room too. We tried the fusion restaurant which was well priced and fairly good portions for the price. The breakfast was poor, a self service of pretty much the standard hotel breakfasts but all the hot food was cold and anything that is meant to be cold such as fruit juices and milk was warm. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again even if it was half the price. But the staff were friendly and helpful in all the right places.

The family room was a good size but the beds were not that comfortable. Ok for a night if there is a special offer on. Breakfast was terrible. I ve had a better breakfast in a travelodge. Everything was just cooked but cold.

I used to love it here, but it's gone backwards a little bit. Male toilets always smell..Staff were friendly. Food is ok,....portions are strange, watch next time you go,if you're a man you get loads of meat, women get half portions! It's happened to my wife several times,I got the lamb cutlets...(well,lamb bones with meat flavour)..not much meat on them at all. Drinks, ridiculously expensive, order a pint of soda water or a red wine you'll see what I mean. Hallgarth manor...better value!!!!
