Lovely hotel great room, friendly staff, breakfast could have been fresher

A nice bit of Luxury out in the country but within a short ride to historic Durham

It's a lovely spa with plenty of space to relax in. The Japanese restaurant is yummy to. The staff are also very helpful and I had a brilliant facial.

Xmas party. 90's night. Apart from the music which was fab, the food was appauling, rushed, squashed in like sardines The unfriendly staff.

A lovely weekend stay at Ramside Hall! We went as a group which some went for the golf and the rest spent time at the spa! The staff were welcoming during our whole stay and nothing was too much trouble! We had our breakfast and evening meal at the Fusion restaurant which was modern and friendly! The food were fresh and tasty. We were taking dinner as part of our package but if you had to pay, it was a little pricey for what you get!

The spa experience was wonderful! There was a big hydropool with plenty of space to soak plus an outdoor pool with jets. It was great as the weather was wet but the warm water was lovely! The steam room and sauna was good too and limited to specific numbers to comply with Covid guidance!

Some of the party had 2 rounds of golf during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed it! There was heavy rain but it didn t stop them enjoying the course!

We had afternoon tea in the lounge area which was lovely. With it being cold outside, taking tea by the fire was just perfect!

I had a facial during my spa experience and was delivered by Jessica! She was lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed my 45 minutes of bliss!!

The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and a gorgeous bathroom! Had a long soak in the bath which was comfy to lie in! Plenty of space to unload your stuff. The queen size bed was fab and had a good nights sleep!!

The hotel was suitably located just off the motorway so easy to reach! Plenty of car parking spaces. We will return again soon! What a great place to unwind and get away from reality!!

Came here for a wedding very well organized ,meal was very nice .stayed overnight room was comfortable and bed was comfortable . Breakfast was good plenty to choose from.

We went to an arranged Christmas party, packed in like sardines and served what can only be described as airplane food, by a stroppy waiter.
Drinks massively overpriced but room was nice looking! Thank goodness for great company wouldn't rush to return

This is a top spot spa 2 18 hole golf course and great Asian food as well as the best British food. Super spot

Conference facilities are great, and the location just off the A1 is ideal and centrally located within the region to be suitable for most who'd be attending.

I visited here on Friday with a friend. We went for a Carvery. We went and asked staff if there was any Deals available. And we we were told No but they do half a portion or full. We opted for half. We go to the Counter where we were served. We got our plates what were I front off us. Only one size mind large. We weren t asked to choose or anything. We then go and sit down ready to eat our meal. Then a staff I member shouts to us have you paid for them meals. I reply with yes we have. And then show the receipt. For her to then be so rude and say that s not a half a portion it s a full size portion to argue with me and embarrass me and a friend for the sake of a plate size. Whah we didn t no was a large or small. Has there his only one size plate when you get served. She then Goes on to enbarrass me even more. By saying you ve done this before. I reply what. She then says sorry it s a mistake it wasn t you. I then ask for a manager. Wish comes along. Rolland. Not sure his full name. Ino hese the operations manager. And was even more rude than the staff member. He didn t come to help us in anyway. Or side with us. He was all for the staff member. And totally blamed us. Evan tho when we asked him to show us the 2 plate sizes there was only one visible wish his large. And the half a portion plate size his under the counter behind the Carvery. On bren proven rong he got all defensive and was pointing and asked us t leave the restaurant. All this time on both occasions me and my friend was totally embarrassed by the actions and professionalism of the staff. Absolutely disgusted with there behaviour. Since then I have spoke to another manager called Tim. And he has now barred me. And totally sided with the staff. And has hung up on myself. I ll be leaving a review on trip advisor next also. Absolutely shocking. All because off a plate size. And for a senior manager to back up his staff that are totally in the rong his absolutely shocking. Me and my friend have never ever been so embarrassed in our lives.

Our family came here first time was last year, we stay for two nights and play golf. We enjoyed very much.This year we were coming back again for the wedding. Seem it s more busy than before, the wi-fi need to be upgrade and so many young staff need to be training .

Very nice rooms. No aircon or fans in hotel bedrooms made them very uncomfortable to sleep in during the night. Reception service very good. Wedding meal very average. Not enough bar staff at wedding function. Also the barstaff seemed to have very little or no experience. No signs of any managers or supervisors. Would think twice about staying there again and would certainly be put off for using the hotel as a function room

At hotel for professional course. Seemed a nice place to stay. Food very good!

Attended school prom in the ballroom. Food was disappointing. Music was mediocre and much too loud. Drinks were extremely overpriced.

We attended christmas party night food was fantastic best we've had in 6 years of attending their parties and entertainment was great

Worst staff and feels like they dont want to be there. only got one star as i cant give it any less. Fusion food was great but never will stay here again food was the only good part of my stay

Nice room very clean, good views, pool and spar very nice, breakfast on the Saturday was not fresh but OK, Sunday was lovely, most staff were very nice, some were a bit miserable and stressed, also they need a few more bar tenders to speed up service, wine and snacks in the room very expensive as we're the bars, restaurants we're closed at ten so unable to get anything to eat, no bar snacks sold, if you bring food in you get fined, no drinks available until the bars open at 11 am so a problem if you are thirsty in the morning. Overall a very good experience.

My family and I visited the Ramside. There was a problem with our food, however without having to complain the manager dealt with it straight away to our satisfaction, good selection of deserts. Good customer service and friendly staff, plenty of parking, though more dissabled parking is needed at the restaurant entrance. We will be returning there to eat in the future.

Went for a function. Felt the few staff with whom I dealt, whilst courteous, felt I was out of place. After that I did.

Venue and catering good, hence the high score.

Stayed here a few times and always had a clean , tidy room. Love it.

11th Wedding anniversary. Ate at the Rib Room which was amazing, had a few drinks and retired to the room. Had a fantastic night with Mrs D.

have just returned from Ramside where I arrived ar 3.30pm on a Sunday afternoon for a visit to the practice range.
I found it closed for 'ball collecting' and was told it would remain closed for another hour.
That wasted visit will certainly discourage me from further visits.
If it closed on a sunny weekend afternoon how can one be sure of it being open at any time.

A nice location not far from the centre of Durham. The rooms are good without being remarkable. Didn't get a chance to use the Spa but it looked nice.

Very nice place whether it's a formal gathering or just a different kind of bingo this is the place to go!

Fantastic overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. Pool, jacuzzi and gym first class.

Absolutely beautiful venue perfect for weddings and other events. Great range of wines and gorgeous food available.

Rooms, staff and ballroom excellent. Food for our Dinner Dance was exceptional and the staff were attentive and efficient.

Loved it. The wife treated me to a suite in the new wing, which was fantastic. We were there for a wedding, good food lovely place and breakfast although busy had plenty of choice. Staff were ok, to be fair it was very busy with three weddings there so understandably they were a bit rushed.

Rib room Restaurant was amazing. The 10oz fillet was to die for. Hotel itself for an overnight is a little dated and the room we stayed in had a real stagnant smell when we entered it. Cleared up when we opened the windows however not the most pleasant opening experience when you walked into your room. Overall well be back loads to do there and the majority of the staff were great considering how busy the hotel was.

I was recently here for a wedding. The venue was lovely, the staff were friendly and always happy to help. The only criticism I have is, they didn't seem very organised when serving the food. Other than that, everything was fine and the bride and groom enjoyed their day which is the main thing.

Excellent hotel, lovely facilities. Only downside for us was after getting ready to go to the Fushion Restaurant sat down and somone who had obviously been to the Spa had previously sat on our seats and we ended up being soaked. Had to go back to room to change! Other than that a lovely experience

The food is fantastic, facilities are excellent and all round q great place to stay for work or social.

Came here for afternoon tea. Marvellous service and good food. The staff were excellent in catering for a gluten allergy.

The bar couldn't cope with the number of people attending the function, which seemed largely because they only had one card machine. Then they didn't have any real beer nor any soap in the gentleman's toilet. The catering was decent, if a little unimaginative, not unlike a decent working mans club. Not flash at all, but ok.

Attended as a spa guest with friends and had an amazing time. The spa is lovely, very spacious and huge pool. The massage was great and all the staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

A great place to relax, spa and golf and the hotel has an excellent carvery

Spent my birthday night at the hotel. Really nice atmosphere, spa was good, though being denied from the extended spa area felt a bit unfair considering the room price (few other couples were saying the same thing). The sauna wasn't very hot in our opinion, but the steam room was great. We also ate at the carvery which was very nice, plenty of choice for my vegetarian girlfriend.
