The lad from the kitchens, Paul, is scrummy and delicious and a great lover. His culinary skills are incredible and he can do amazing things with meat and two veg. #yummy
what a georgous place staff very friendly spotless place good 5 star
Our daughter had her wedding reception here on 26th may and we had an amazing day she had the marquee in the amazing grounds and from start to finish everything was 1st class the 3 course meal was great and having to serve 90 people it was red hot the staff were really good working so hard in the heat the comments we have recieved from guests have been nothing but good and i would definatly recommend this venue for weddings and other functions well done to all involved
Just returned from an afternoon tea with friends. The food was lovely and fresh. There was a good choice of sandwiches and cakes . Perfect! The staff member who looked after us today was extremely polite and helpful. Excellent value for money. Well worth a visit
Attended a friend's wedding. Facilities were nice, staff were professional and friendly. Bar prices were a little high for the area and not all pumps were operational in the marquee.
The room we stayed in was lush but spa wise poor.It cost 189.00 pounds to stay the night went to spa and asked how you get into another section or outside and was told you have to upgrade another 30 pounds to simply go outside which I think is wrong when you have paid this much for one night stay in the hotel. The pool was freezing the sauna wasn't very hot it was hotter in the shower. Also they say you can have drinhs by poolside but waiting time was 20.mins or so people kept asking where there drinks were we went to the bar to be told we are waiting for plastic glasses and we don't know how long it will be then I was told I wasn't allowed a tiger beer round the pool but you are allowed wine what's the difference it's still ACHOHOL .There was also a party of people in the Jacuzzi from 4pm till 6pm which is wrong because no one else could use it.I certainly would use the spa again
Fusion restaurant - slow inattentive service sadly. Had plans for a night with several drinks alongside out meal. But no service check during the meal, not offered any desserts, couldn't catch the eye of anyone to order more drinks... so when we finally called out for someone it was just to ask for the bill. Food was ok. Not as great as everyone had told me it would be. Overall mediocre experience and given it wasn't the cheapest I won't be back.
I was here for a wedding reception and it was absolutely lovely. Food was fantastic also
Great hotel and excellent value for money, booked on the day and arrived within the hour. Everything ready, efficient reception, good room with quality furniture and fittings. A small bathroom but well laid out and plenty of hot water. Good choice of restaurants and a spa to top it all off. I'll be back there again if I am in the area.
Was really good. Went to a wedding. Service was great. The whole place was really nice
We visited the spa for a twilight session with a meal in the fusion restaurant, everything was fanrastic. Excellent facilities and good. Also fab massage!
Awesome place, fusion restaurant was great though the picture really doesn't do the taste justice. Spa refurbishment is very well done and get a good deal on the Sunday night and it's unbeatable value.
Lovely setting, need to sort air con out in large hall when having conferences
Very nice hotel and Spa and golf course on the outskirts of Durham, just off the A1.
Fantastic spa and excellent food at the spa restaurant
Wonderful experience. Loved my 2nights stay. Staff superb.Food extremely good and facilities second to none. The sight of the hotel with the golf course realy set it off well. Yes i loved every second of my stay. Thank you.
Excellent facilities in a nice countryside location. Golf course, spa, good food. What more can you ask for?
Have just returned from an overnight stay at The Farmhouse. I have to say that the staff we met during our stay at The Ramside were absolutely fantastic. From the reception staff at check-in, to the bar staff, waiting staff in the rib room as well as the spa staff were all very helpful and John our courteous and friendly driver was amazing. I didn't even know of the existence of The Farmhouse but it was cosy, comfortable and beautifully presented. With everything we needed for a girly fun hen party. The continental breakfast delivery just put the icing on the perfect getaway. Gorgeous rooms and everything on hand for a relaxing stay. Absolutely perfect.
We took afternoon tea a most reassuring experience. In these uncertain times. Full precautions taken. Staff on the ball & made it an enjoyable experience. My first social trip out since lock down all my fears addressed and confidence restored. Thank you. An enjoyable experience all round.
Love the Ramside Hall at Christmas, highly recommended. Great food and great Christmas atmosphere.
Avoid this hotel! Ramside Hall Hotel doesn't respect its workers. It was named-and-shamed by the UK government in December 2017 for failing to pay the wages it owed to multiple employees.
Lovely place and enjoyed lunch but it was really cold and we had to leave our coats on!!
Poor WiFi signal to rooms, very low pressure shower, restricted times available for pool use to residents. Over charged for an additional bottle of wine on the check-out bill. Couldn t recommend Ramside this visit - disappointing experience!
I was there for the golf academy not the hotel. Had an excellent lesson from Rob Lister to correct a swing problem. I will be going back for more lessons
For an event, this had everything required at your finger tips. Food was gorgeous too
Really lovely, comfortable room and everything really clean. However, some of the staff aren't all that pleasant or helpful and the food was only mediocre. Have stated at less expensive hotels and had a better experience.
Drafty old house with loads of character rooms are in modern extension, very nice service
Food mediocre in carvery small portion of meat and luke warm roast potatoes and not cheap
From the moment we walked in the place was amazing the staff were all polite the room was perfect and the spa was amazing
Everything you need for a fantastic golf day, the clubhouse is one of the best I've seen with great facilities. The Prince and Bishop courses are in a tip top condition with the fairways feeling like Axminster carpet! Give it try you won't be disappointed.
Had tea at the Fusion restaurant. It was delicious and the staff were lovely. Great place.
It is a spectacular hotel for the beauty of the place, the attention of its staff, the room where we rested was beautiful, very comfortable and functional. And its incredible spa !!!
Did not use the Hotel. Just played golf on the Prince Bishops course. Really good test of golf. Wish I had been able to play earlier in the season
fantastic as always we were there for motown night as a Christmas night with all pub managers FANTASTIC
Visit for Y11 school prom. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff!!@
Just a let down. Went for a spa day but told they were at capacity ...even though THEY told us to just turn up. So basically payed for a really expensive room 15 minutes down the road from my house.
Spa was ok. Food was lovely. A bit pricey as there are better facilities nearby for the same prices.
Very nice atmosphere, great sized room with lovely facilities
Hotel is very nice. Has three Restaurants (Rib & Steakroom, Asian fusion & the carvery). The Asian Fusion Restaurant is quite expensive & the staff tends to ignore you even if you're the only customer. The Carvery is substandard in the food Department & it's a sin that so many animals died in vain. That leaves the Rib & Steakroom - which is the only one which can be recommended with a good conscience.
Overall not bad. Steak was fatty, very tough. Not much food. Not wgat I expected. Sad face
Lovely place that offers party nights and very reasonably priced. The food on party nights is top class and arrives hot on the plate. The scenery and facilities are tops and spa facilities great!
The spa and dine package is good value for money. Fantastic swimming pool and a relaxing spa with plenty of beds (usually) The outdoor spa pool is really special, and warm enough to enjoy even on the coldest of days. The food is good too! A perfect treat day!
I have just returned from the Ramside Hall Hotel following a two day stay and cannot recommend it enough. The room was excellent overlooking the golf course and I had the best night s sleep that I've ever had in a hotel for a long time. The staff were faultless. You also have a good choice of meals in the carvery. A full English Breakfast is included. The Ramside Hotel also provided free WiFi. A Spa will be opening shortly and I can't wait for my next visit to try this out. There is ample parking and disabled parking bays too. There is a lift to all floors which can easily accommodate a wheelchair. Can't wait for my next visit.
Christmas party. Excellent venue. Very posh and upper class. Makes you feel all fancy and that. 5/5
Where to start. This is an okay hotel. Rooms are sized okay and the spa is modern. Besides from that I don t have much else good to say. The rooms are dated, the whole hotel is ran poorly. The people (staff and guests) ruined this break for me. We went to book at the spa and upon arrival were told we had to provide the wallet our room key was given to us in. I have no idea why they didn t tell us this when we booked? The towels in the spa had security tags, and if that doesn t tell you what this place is like I don t know what will. There are on average three weddings a day here. If you are used to hotels in this price range do not stay here. There are loud wedding parties and hen and stag dos. It does not feel exclusive. If you are used to travelodge on holiday then this will seem fancy and you will love it. This will most definitely not have the judgemental classist posh snobs that any other hotel with these kind of facilities will. Make what you want of that statement weather you consider it to be good or bad. This is the reality of ramside. It is nice in theory, but in reality it is a little sloppy, and not worth the price. I would not recommend it for a quiet romantic break at all. The accommodation was nice, but has deteriorated and dated over time. The bath could certainly be cleaner and the furniture updated (see photos). Edit: To top it all off another guest stole our taxi to the station upon trying to leave. We had already been waiting 20 minutes. This sums up the hotel really. It is no fault of the hotel staff and I appreciate they are trying their best, but this stay has been awful.
Amazing place to stay staff really good rooms so clean and comfy. Good food
Stayed here for the night whilst working in the area. What can I say easily the best Spa I ve encountered in the Uk. Outside Jaccuzzi and inside jacuzzi, a sauna with a view of the outside jacuzzi and greenery. Inside spectacular service with top of the range facilities all in working order. The rooms are of a very high standard starting the minute you walk into the reception area. Every detail no expense spared. Both party s plan on bringing our partners here as a treat for a weekend I could recommend it enough. It s not cheap however this place is definitely aimed at the upper wage bracket being a professional golf club also. Food and drink will set you back so be prepared if you are taking the wife away. All in all easily the best hotel I ve come across in the Uk so far and I travel a lot with work. 5* plus
Food is beautiful, the spa isn't as good as others I visited. Rooms are nice but over priced in my opinion 4out of 5
This is a very nice place to stay. Lovely rooms and leisure facilities. Choice of food from the restaurants is good and the quality is excellent... the carvery is superb!!! Set in beautiful grounds with a park and ride for Durham just outside the entrance. Highly recommended.
Far too much sitting around waiting for room turnaround.
Went for food. Good quality steak. Ambience good. Service was attentive.
Just spent weekend at ramside everything about the whole place is second to none truly superb
Great for large events, however drinks unsurprisingly expensive.
Wow what a complex, spas, golf courses, meeting rooms, hotel, etc went to see a talk with John McGuinness & Jamie Whitham in The Bishops room, well presented tables, staff dressed to the 9s with excellent service, little pricey but not too bad as you'd expect.
Food and service disappointing in Pembertons Carvery. Staff weren t very helpful for us as first time visitors so ordering was a confusing process. Nobody to greet you on arrival to help.
