Amazing venue. Worth every penny. Went for a spa day and the asian afternoon tea. Very relaxing, not overcrowded and plenty of areas to explore. Everyone was very professional and my only gripe was my creme brulee had split and was a bit eggy. However the savoury portion of my afternoon tea more than made up for it.

Excellent venue. Very well presented and well facilitated by attentive and friendly staff. Neville suite isn't well labelled. I parked outside it and walked round the entire hotel looking for it. D'oh. Good variety of buffet food at the event laid on by the hotel.

We have just stayed at the Ramside for 3 nights following reopening, and the Health & Safety measures they have put in place far exceed the government guidelines, the hotel needs to be highly commended for their actions and training of their friendly staff. The food in Fusion was delicious with social distancing strictly adhered to.

My room was nice enough, plenty of space and it was nice to have an armchair with footstool instead of having to sit on the bed. The bed was not the most comfortable I have slept in but then not the worst either. The room was clean enough but lacking in a bit of attention to detail with regards to cleanliness. The communal areas are looking tired and a little bit grubby in places. The Pemberton Restaurant was very disappointing and nothing more than a glorified canteen. The carvery area was messy and the food looked unappetising with cold vegetables. To then have to stand and pay for your food is reminiscent of my college refectory days!! Not what I expect from a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was only marginally better in that there was a good selection but the hot food on the buffet was again unappetising. Is it not possible to cook eggs to order? I chose this hotel as a treat for myself and my companion on our annual trip to visiting family in the area but I won t be booking for next year as at best the whole experience was adequate and certainly not worth the price tag!!

My Mother & I decided to dine for lunch at the Pemberton Carvery. We both found the whole experience rather 'strange' for a 4 star hotel. There were lots of staff walking about but no one to meet & greet on arrival and no one actually acknowledging the fact that we were there. After asking staff what to do, there were a few tables to chose from, but none of them had been cleaned, nor were they set out for customers, i.e napkin, cutlery, place mats. We sat down in the hope that a member of staff would come to clean the table (they Didn't) We then went for our lunch, I'm a vegetarian and there was only pasta as the vegetarian option, nothing that could be combined with a Yorkshire pud and the vegetables. My Mother had the beef, which she said was beautiful, plenty of it and very tasty, so no complaints there. We didn't find the area where you get the vegetables from very easy to access, at least not for people who are small or not very strong. Also, there wasn't a great deal of choice, and why were there leeks mixed in with the peas?. The Next step was strange too. When we had filled our plates we had to wait in a queue to pay??? really, I strongly feel that this needs to change, who wants to wait in a queue, with their food to pay, all the time its getting cold and then have to pick their cutlery up on the way back to the table. I caught a member of staff who was cleaning another table for some other diners and I asked her to clean our table too.Honestly, it was like dining at a cafe, we were so disappointed with everything except the beef. I never complain, but I feel you could use this complaint as constructive criticism to improve things for the future. Whilst sitting after our lunch we did over hear other people with similar concerns.

The hotel was lovely. Asked for a view of the golf course but got a room over looking the car park. Maybe that's booking. Com's fault. First breakfast had to talk the manager reference the chef putting fresh food on top of the old. Dont expect to get a lounger in the spa where the hydro pool is even tho you pay an extra 30.00 per person. We had to share two days running for a few hours. The staff in the hotel are absolutely friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Especially the spa staff.... They work so hard with such enthusiasm on a long shift.

I stayed at the hotel with some friends. We had a premier double which was lovely and very spacious and luxurious. We had dinner in The Rib Room...the food was delicious and the service was great. We also used the spa during our stay which I would highly recommend. Excellent massage and the pool and thermal suite were fabulous...extremely comfortable and perfect for a lazy day.

Ramside hall is such an amazing building and very classy. I ordered my girlfriend and her mate a day here from an offer on groupon which was really good value and she was treat with amazing care, and the treatments were a great experience. I also know that they rent out rooms for business and school proms at the end of the year! Really great building.

Played both courses...the cathederal course will be a really good course once bedded in...but the prince bishop is one of the most enjoyable and varied I have played...a lot of dog legs and cracking par 3's....one of my faves.

Nice big room and great facilities. Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious but bathroom was small and rather basic. Soundproofing could be better as we were able to hear the neighbours.

Lovely experience! We stayed in one of the suites and were really happy with the room standard. Large bath and shower room which we soaked away and enjoyed an extremely quiet atmosphere. We also loved the view of the golf course!

Ribs were so tough they were impossible to cut. My daughter went to ask for steak knives and was ignored. Beef was cooked very well not the veg which was hard and tasteless. Waited 30 minutes for a couple of slices of cake - had to ask what had happened to the order. Very disappointed.

The meal was lovely which is the positive of our stay. However, being made to feel like a criminal because I paid with cash completely ruined the experience. As the member of staff highlighted, should I have paid with a card, unless I was More

The hotel is starting to look a bit dated in the communal areas. The room however was large and accommodating and the bed very comfortable. You can however hear what your neighbours are doing and also people in the corridors which can disturb sleep. It might be me but the walls seemed very thin Not very much to do in the surrounding area as the hotel is fairly remote. Reasonably priced for what you get.

Visited the steak house with a group of friends and family. Great food, atmosphere and service. Nice large table to accommodate all 14 of us in a lovely big room, pre drinks in another room. Would go back again.

A 9min drive to the centre of Durham They have 4 different restaurants offering different kind of foods. It also has 2 18 hole golf course which is close enough to walk to Cant wait to go back

It is a classic country hotel that combines luxurious facilities with golf course, great offer of restoration and Spa. A little away from the center of the city, its design invites you to stay there all day enjoying every corner of the establishment. We only stayed two nights and enjoyed it little. To highlight the spaciousness of the rooms and the magnificent breakfast buffet. It is true that it is an expensive hotel, but the quality price is not bad. To return at some point.
