Absolutely worst hotel experience in GR. After lon...

Absolutely worst hotel experience in GR. After long drive we were given wrong keys to 3rd floor, had to return to get new keys. Then got new room and it was a king when we booked 2 queens. Rep said they were fully booked and couldn t get us a new room. After 10min they found a room. Back on 3rd floor it was hot. Room never cooled. Our other family checked out that night, I wish we had. The next day we left to added a funeral visitation and came back to a terrible smell in the room. After 15min maintenance guy showed up and agreed. Waited another 15 min for them to move us. To another hot room down the hall. We will never stay here again. I contacted corporate twice and never received a response other than we sent your note to franchise owner .

We hold our hiring fairs at this location, and I've been here 8 times. The staff never fail to impress with the level of service they provide. Rooms are always clean, and I am a personal fan of the vanity-lit mirror in the bathrooms. The hot tub is also a nice addition to a work night out.

I just have to say i was very upset from my last stay! I recommend for ppl not to go here during this corna virus because its pointless and a waste of money, I stay here before the covid and i loved my stay. but this time I was not too please they charged me for a suite which was $180 and i didnt even choose that room, and this didnt even include breakfast or the bar being open or the resurtant in the back being open. so I basically payed 180 to sleep there i guess. i wish i could get a refund or something because im not happy about my stay at all!!!!!

Stayed on the fourth floor with newly remodeled rooms yet some of the hallways needed some cleanliness. Biggest disappointment were the guests with kids across the hall that were yelling and running all on the fourth floor until 1:30AM. Called the front desk three times to complain between 11PM-11:30PM but no one answered. Sleepless night indeed.

This hotel was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. It was very very clean. The pool was great for the kids. The only advise I can give anyone staying here is if you have to have an early morning don't stay on the pool side. It was open till 10 and it is pretty loud. But that is not the hotels fault. I will be staying here anytime I am in Grand Rapids again.

It was a simple stay when we lost power. Indoor pool hot tub clean updated rooms. The thing I was most impressed was the abundance of electrical plugs and USB ports in the walls. Hotel had some noticeable old bones with fresh decor on top of it. But overall it was clean

Very disappointing. We decided to book a room here to do something fun with our kids and go swimming. There are plenty of hotels in the area that have a pool and hot tub for half the price of the room we booked here at the Delta, but they have a water slide and our kids were really stoked about that. When we checked in we were informed that the water slide was broken. I was a little frustrated that the water slide was broken because it was the deciding factor when choosing this hotel, but they offered us $20 off the room and I didn't want to deal with the hassle of relocating to a different hotel, so we decided to stay. It was clear when we first walked in the room that it had not been vacuumed and we found and old room key and random trash. There was also quite a bit of tape and streamers on the corners of the walls from I'm assuming the guests from a previous stay. We went swimming for over 2 hours the first night and no one ever brought in pool towels. When we asked for them, it took about 45 minutes before someone finally brought in bath mats instead of towels. They advertise food and bar service but the entire time we were there those areas didn't have any lights on (as if it was closed) and catching someone at the front desk seemed to be hit or miss. The next morning, there were still no clean towels and the dirty towel bin had not been emptied from the night before. The garbage cans were literally overflowing with trash from the night before. We had to ask for towels again twice and they finally brought more bath mats instead. I will say that the gentleman at check out was vey nice and helpful. He did offer another discount which was nice, but our overall stay was disappointing to say the least. Considering there are at least another 7 hotels in a 5-mile radius at half the price, I wouldn t recommend staying here.

Great renovations to a facility that needed them. Pool, slide, and hot tub are family oriented and great fun. Rooms were clean, staff was very friendly, and the mattresses were heavenly. We will be back.

Just had my first stay at the Delta by Marriott Hotel in Grand Rapids. This place was excellent. The room had a very stylish, modern decor, and in particular the bathroom was really nice with a very cool walk in shower. There is Starbucks in the lobby, and the staff was really friendly and helpful. I needed to stay a few extra hours, and they were very accommodating. It is also centrally located to a number of stores and restaurants. I look forward to staying there again. #deltabymarriott @ Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Rapids Airport

This should have been better than it was. The personnel were helpful, but there are some things even they couldn t fix. I needed to be very near the elevator because my sister was there with me and she has a hard time walking very far. The room nearest the elevator on at least two floors had an extremely loud return air fan in the bathroom. Neither of us could stand how loud it was if the door was left open. We were so glad to be out of the room because of this fan noise. It did not make for very restful sleep. When I complained, they took $ off my bill, but I would never voluntarily stay there again.

The Delta Marriott was incredibly accommodating. The room was comfortable and spacious with two queen size beds. I particularly enjoyed the bathroom, which had a standing shower. The bathroom also had smart lighting mirror with a power button on the mirror, which provided excellent lighting.
The front desk services were kind and receptive of any and all of our needs. The fitness center was above standard. The treadmills and ellipticals were accompanied by their own individual screens allowing users to watch tv, Netflix, Hulu and other entertainments. As well as having a standard free weight section the fitness center had a non traditional multi gym featuring Battle ropes, standing endless rope climb, and several other functions. The stay at Delta Marriott met and exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend a stay here.

This is our second time here, most likely our last. We came to enjoy the pool & water slide for a little stay-cation. We get here and are told the water slide is only open on weekends. Not only closed but BROKEN. No where was that information listed in their website! Also, they take an additional $50/night "in case of incidentals". Again, info NOT given on their aebsite. There are many families here that expected more but we all got stuck with mediocrity. Not the adjective we expected regarding a Marriot hotel.
Don't waste your time or money!

This hotel has apparently gone through some major changes in the past year (according to other reviews)! And it shows! It was previously a Ramada, but they've gone to great lengths to rebrand under the Delta Hotels name.
We called ahead to make sure on our reservation, and the lady at the desk was incredibly friendly! After reading the past reviews, I'd say that the night staff there is wonderful, and should all get raises because they are incredible! It's also super helpful to have that sort of a night staff when you home some of your late-night travelers, like us. So kudos!

Our room was gorgeous. I fell in love with the desk that had a power strip built into it so you could do all of your office work without having to rearrange the room to get to all the outlets. they also had a business center set up if you needed that, but who doesn't love being able to work from their hotel room in their pajamas? :-) There was a gigantic flat-screen TV that has the capability to log into your Netflix if you want to! There's also the local guide. it seems that there are other options for logging into accounts that you have through the television, but I didn't have anything other than Netflix. The TV was definitely one of the biggest I've ever seen in the hotel room though! The beds are large and super fluffy. And very clean! there's a coffee maker in the room and a mini fridge hidden behind a cabinet door. The one downside? No microwave at the room. But there is a microwave in the lobby downstairs where the commissary area is. They also leave complimentary water bottles in the room. Which is super helpful for the coffee pot! also, there's an abundance of outlets in these rooms! Including just straight USB ports. Right next to the bed, under the TV, on the desk, and plenty of other places. The bathroom is very modern! There's a power button on the mirror that turns on a light around the mirror. I was very happy to see that the light that they installed was more of a natural light, so for those of us who like to do our makeup in the mornings it was nice to be able to have that perspective. Instead of the god-awful fluorescent s*** that happens in some other places. there wasn't a tub, but there was a very tall stand up shower. And plenty of towels.

Speaking of the commissary--they had some reasonably priced items in there, including toiletries, candy bars, and even energy drinks.

As far as extra amenities, we also happen to have a room with a door that led straight out into the pool. The pool has a gigantic water slide! It looks super fun. We didn't have enough time to utilize this, but I could see it being a lot of fun for families. there's also a restaurant in the lobby, that seems to have food all day long. I don't believe that they offer continental breakfast for free to hotel patrons, but maybe with the Marriott Reward system there's some sort of points or something that you could redeem for free breakfast depending on your status. There's also a full fitness center and a Starbucks in the lobby. I ordered an iced latte at the Starbucks, and had a wonderfully pleasant conversation with the girl working there. She was very sweet and we had a very fun conversation... so I started off the morning on a good foot!

All in all, I was very impressed with his hotel. I would recommend it to anyone traveling through the Grand Rapids area.

Booked for 2 nights but ended up staying 1. The newly renovated room seems to still have old appliances. The heater started sounding like a tractor around 6am Sunday morning. We were told they would send maintenance in as soon as they come in. We tried sleeping through it but had to ask for room change. We ended up canceling and picking a different hotel. I should ve read reviews before booking.

This hotel stay was a disaster from the minute we check in. The only reason it gets 2 stars vs one is because the beds were very comfy. That s the best thing I can say. First, I was guaranteed a-joining rooms and even stopped into the hotel the week prior to our stay to clarify. When we checked in, they had none available. They gave me a $20 off voucher for breakfast the next day, which I later learned they didn t have on Sundays!! Thanks for nothing! The water slide was broken. There was a huge gap between the AC and the window so hot air from the pool area was blowing in the room keeping it from getting cool. When maintenance came in, his solution was to stuff a towel in the crack. The next day, there was no one in the hotel that could unlock the pool area, so it was an hour after pool opening that the maintenance person arrived to unlock it. All the kids just jumped the fence to swim, which was clearly a safety hazard. <br/>This hotel needs some serious customer service improvements!!!

Reservation:

Reservation:

We had one reservation for 3 people for 2 nights and 2 people for 1 night. We needed to extend one person to be also for 2 nights. On the telephone, they constantly said they didn't have rooms. Finally we were able to reserve through the website after 3 errors.

Check-in:

We had a very late check-in which was appreciated, but there were so many problems around it. It took 45 minutes to check-in 5 people. One of us didn't have a card until the next evening. The manager on duty first opened another person's room. We understood the 3 people who were for 2 nights were actually put on a reservation for 1 night.

Cleanliness:

My room was not cleaned properly, especially in the bathroom where even the toilet wasn't flushed and everything around it was dirty.
It wasn't cleaned the next day either. Probably because the system still considered to not be in that room even though I've stayed for 2 nights.

Horrible service... I checked in to receive a suite that had not been cleaned. The staff was notified and I was told they would clean it, which led me to leave the facility and come back later. Upon returning I was given a different room, which they could have done the first time. A few days after check out I received a survey. I filled it out to make them aware of my inconvenience and got a response email from the company stating that I would be given 5,000 award points for the mishap. I never received them. I contacted them again to ask why and was told sorry for the inconvenience again and was offered 7,000 points instead.. which I haven t received either. I found this to be a horrible customer service experience with Delta hotels.

Room is nice, but a little small. There was too much furniture, for two beds? Ideal size for one larger bed with the sitting chairs and table. Maybe get rid of the one sitting chair in this room? The beds and pillows were very comfortable, though. In today's day it was nice having all of the plugs, for changing devices. Maybe more USB's would be good?
There toilet in the bathroom was stuffed between the counter and the bath. It was almost too small for a person my size to fit??
My wife and daughter really liked the lighted mirror, for putting on their makeup. This is a nice touch.

Wasn't that great, actually very expensive. It had it ups and downs. My children enjoyed the swimming pool, however the water had a weird color to it which scared me off. Staff on 1st and 2nd shift was very friendly and the room's we're clean. I wouldn't stay here again, mostly because I had my two young daughters and they put us on the 5th floor and I had to cart them up and down.

I need to start off by saying I have not stayed at this hotel. I had an issue with a reservation and was basically told "sucks to be you" by Marriott Corporate. The 5 star review comes in when I decided to call the hotel directly. I talked to a supervisor, Amanda, who handled the situation immediately and professionally. I will definitely stay at this hotel in the future due to the way she handled the situation. Thank you.

Currently staying at this hotel. The doors do not close automatically behind you. So I've seen multiple doors left ajar walking down the hallway. This is incredibly unsafe. When addressed with management they said it's intentional. I convinced them to fix mine, after they got argumentative about it. There is mold on my shower curtain. Pieces of the wall have been lying on the floor for 24 hours. And they didn't bother to take out the old thermostats when renovating. The Marriott app offers many services for this hotel (like mobile key ) that the hotel does not have and simply gets defensive saying "it's not our fault we don't have what we advertise" when you bring it up. The whole places feels poorly renovated, maintained, and the customer service is non-existent. To add to the issues housekeeping stole cash from my room and management is indifferent and unwilling to help me recover my money.

Response to owner: I did not ask for Marriott points. Had you asked how you could make my stay better I would have told you. But management was uninterested in actually helping. Beyond that, Marriott points can not replace the $30 in cash that was stolen from me. That is still owed to me.

My stay July 28th was below par or any Marriott I have ever visited.
1) Receptionist was not there when I arrived, which isn t a super big deal, but it took 5 min for someone to show up...it was only 9:00pm
2) When the receptionist did arrive, they were not welcoming at all. If one has status, forget being acknowledged or asked about the gift if this receptionist is up front.
3) Garbage was overflowing in the lobby garbage can. I thought by the next morning it would be cleaned up...and it was actually only becoming a larger pile spreading across the floor and I have the picture to prove it.
4) Elevator was not clean (good on the floor, and interior needs some loving)
5) Hallways need loving too
6) Fitted sheets were placed on beds inside out - demonstrates lack of attention to detail of the facility

This is how customer service should be done!! Kudos to all the staff (whose names I dont remember ) that took care of our flight crew from about 4:30p-5:00a!! Wait, I do remember Dolly, but she was not the only awesome staff person. The rooms are nice, gym has 2 types of ropes--workout enthusiasts know what I'm talking about--and top of the line cardio equipment! It's also located within walking distance of a mall and a variety of other shopping and food options. I'd def recommend this hotel!! Nice work Delta Hotel!!

This is a terrible nasty old hotel that someone to...

This is a terrible nasty old hotel that someone took and did minimal work to and then added fancy Marriott furniture. The rooms and hotel are dirty and disgusting. The staff is rude and incompetent. I stay at hotels all over the country for work and consistently at Marriott hotels for the quality. This is the worst Marriott i have even stayed at. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless its under $50 a night. The rooms are nasty and the pool is smaller than a residential pool. Marriott should be ashamed to call this one of their hotels much less a Delta hotel.

I stayed one night a few weeks back when i was flying in to grand rapids for work. I got in fairly late at night and when i showed up around 1am there was one person checking in before me. It took the lady 30+ minutes to check him in between the computer system and her constantly saying no not that room x is broke (about 5 times) Finally she gave him his keys and i stepped up to the next with my credit card and ID and said that i did mobile check in. She had no idea what that meant and proceeded to check me in manually. It took 10+ minutes and she gave me keys to a room on the third floor. I took the elevator upstair and opened my door. To my surprise the room was filled with trash, luggage, beds were not made and towels were on the floor. Definitely not cleaned and luckily no one was in it as it was past 1:30 am by that point. I walked back down to the desk and she said "oh i thought it was clean" not sorry not i apologize nothing. She took a few minutes and gave me another room. It was on the first floor off the pool. I knew right away this was a nasty old holiday inn or ramada type hotel as the door had 5+ coats of paint. The room was at least cleaned but it was still grimy and gross and smelled like chlorine from the pool. at this point i just wanted to sleep a few hours and get out. The room was so hot (83 deg) that i had to wait for the AC to cool it down. Then as i was in the room the next morning i took a shower and sat down to go to the bathroom. The new fancy furniture they put in with the toilet paper holder on it blocked anyone from using the toilet.

Worst off i submitted a comment to Marriott corporate and got a response within a day that the local management would contact me. It has been several weeks and neither the hotel nor Marriott will return emails. I even called the hotel and asked for the manager. Still no response.

I wouldn't recommend staying here unless its under $50 a night. The rooms are nasty and the pool is smaller than a residential pool.

Previously owned by Ramada. Several rooms had leaks our family had to move rooms twice we were all separated on two separate floors. Overall, after we were all settled in around 1 a.m. The manager gave us all late check-out time so we had the opportunity to go swimming which turned out very well. Overall the experience at Delta was okay.

Update** Although it took a rather long time and new staff coming in to fix the situation; I was compensated for the clothing that was stolen*** The Delta Grand Rapids hotel itself is nice and perfectly located. The hotel staff on the other hand are absolutely horrible. While on official government travel I had housekeeping steal my work clothing from the closet in my room. The hotel management found 1 of my shirts on the housekeeping cart tucked under sheets. After receiving a sorry excuse of an apology I ve been led on for the last two and a half months to get repayment or some type of compensation for the items stolen. This hotel is a poor reflection of the Marriott brand; I am deeply disappointed.
