I -almost- walked out after the hostess decided to seat a larger party that was behind me in line first. Pretty lame of her considering I had already been waiting a few minutes. On a brighter note, the food was pretty good.

One of my most favorite restaurants on the Island. My kids enjoy the rainforest atmosphere and we've even gotten familiar with the staff. The best dish in my opinion is the Pastalaya, but there are several delicious items on the menu. Also, it's a great place to come and eat if you're visiting the island with kids, as it provides kid attractions and games, along with souvenir cups. The GM, Adam, is by far one of the better GM's on the island and really has his staff on point. Overall great people!

If you have never been to a rainforest cafe this one will definitely not disappoint. The food is on the same level as maybe Chili's or Applebee's but the atmosphere is spectacular. This restaurant even has a jungle water ride. You have to pay extra for the ride but it is a close resemblance to a magic kingdom ride and would probably be great entertainment if there is a wait to be seated in the restaurant.

This is our 4th visit to this Rainforest Cafe, and every single time has been a bad experience. This time our daughter begged to go there for her birthday, so we went. However, she had just eaten some birthday cake and did not want a volcano. So instead she wanted the cupcake and one of the specialty cups with an Icee. We were told they would still all come over and sing her happy birthday. Well they were out of ALL but 2 of the cups. And only our waitress came and sang to her. When I asked why everyone didn't come sing and make it special for her, I was told that was only for guests who pay 17 dollars for the volcano. What a crummy thing to do to an 8 year old on her birthday. She had to sit and watch probably a dozen birthday songs while we were there, and she was left out. Unbelievable. Thanks for upsetting my kid on her birthday, jerks.

We went since it looked fun for our 4 year old. Thought the food was a little pricey, but it s actually worth the money. It was delicious! We had 5 people in our party and we all thought the food was really good. We did the ride afterwards (a boat trip through the rainforest) and it was fun. It s not a thrill ride, so as long you know that going in, you will enjoy it. Highly recommend this restaurant if you have little kids.

It was a great place to take your family to eat and also had a ride within the restaurant which made it a lot more fun because while you're waiting for your table you can get on the ride and the ride wasn't expensive

We came in from out of town and were looking forward to eating at Rain Forest. We got our food rather quickly. My daughter's flat iron steak was over cooked and tasted like someone dipped it in charcoal. They offered to replace it with a new one or another entree, which was fine. Halfway through our meal we remembered that we hadn't gotten her side dish which came with the meal. My granddaughter had the flat bed cheese pizza. She wouldn't eat it. Said it tasted bad. I tried a bite and it tasted like cardboard. We were so disappointed by our experience! We've always had great food there in the past but everything was just awful tonight.

Neat experience. Food and drinks were great, but waitress wasn't attentive, forgot parts of our order, offered Sparkling Volcano dessert for my birthday celebration and then came back and said they were going to charge us $20 for it. I declined. Will check out a different location and hopefully have a better experience to award a higher rating.

My first time there the atmosphere was amazing. Our waiter was so awesome. The food was pricey but was worth it. You only live once and I enjoyed it so much . Also brought home a souvenir. I cant wait to visit again.

Maybe it was an off night, but the experience was substandard. First, the hostess that seated us thought that her conversation with a fellow employee was more important than seating us as we waited next to her for about three minutes. Then they tried to seat us at a table that was not cleaned. It looked like the child that was sitting in the booster seat that was left had a good time. The server was rude and indifferent as he brought us the wrong drink orders 3 times over the course of the meal. He wanted to argue about it. Really? We know what we ordered. The food and atmosphere was good but the service needs some work.

This is the type of place you forget how the food tastes, but remember the experiences you had. My son loved the jungle theme and engaging decor. I couldn't tell you what I ate, but it was probably a hamburger.

Go for the experience and photo opps.

Will never be back to this location. We waited over two hours for a table, we expected a wait due to being over 6 people but then after waiting and being seated at the table we were informed we were not able to all sit together and had to split up. We are a family so it seemed rather rude to split up a family. The waiter kept rolling his eyes, when I told him my drink was no good he got annoyed and made a comment about it being pre made. The management didn't seem to care that he was acting that way. When telling the manager of the way he was acting she looked annoyed. The food came out cold and wrong. Then when my sister asked for a to go box he brought her a box but then took her plate. He obviously was not attentive.

There's plenty to love about this place. The food is amazing, there's a volcano outside that spews fire out at night. The gift shop has something for everyone. The staff is very friendly. It's not just a restaurant, it's an adventure.

A nice place to celebrate a Birthday with your kids. Rainforest Cafe has a fun and attractive atmosphere for kids. Do not miss the Volcano Cake a favorite one to celebrate a birthday. The servers bring the humongous cake with a sparkle light and sing happy birthday to the birthday boy or girl. The food is not that great and it is expensive.

A difference between this location and the other two at Houston is the Jungle Ride which is fun and it is for all ages.

We tried to give the kids a treat on sunday.... big mistake!! The wait was an hour. They limited seating in the cafe due to covid. As a result the entire gift shop was packed! We left after trying to find a spot where we could social distance. It was impossible. We are now praying we didn t get covid in that Petri-dish of germs! It makes no sense to pack people into the gift store while waiting shoulder to shoulder to get into the socially distanced cafe!

Great place to take the kids, mine had a blast. Food and drinks were good, it is a bet pricey but will worth it and good portions. On the plus side when you order adult drinks (21oz) you get to keep the glass souvenir cause it has rainforest cafe Galveston TX on it. Every 30min they have a thunderstorm and that when all there animals came to life, my kids enjoyed it. I recommend that everyone should at least try this place out at least once.

We had a fantastic experience here! We travel a lot and love Rainforest Cafe, we especially love the chocolate cake, which is all we wanted at this visit. Boy, it was better than ever before! This is the most elaborate RC we ve ever visited as well. I highly recommend doing the ride, no matter how old. We re a late 20s couple who smiled ear to ear the entire time! What a great memory!! Thanks RC!

Mediocre at best. The food is tolerable but isn't worth a fraction of what you'll pay for it. Beware taking your kids here -they'll hound you to come back even though they can't stand the food either. Their mission of having enough sights to hook a kid is definitely a success and coupled with the low quality food preparation I'm sure they turn a decent profit.

An hour wait, 2 hours in dining experience to receive cold appetizers and food. The chairs were unpleasant to sit in for that 2 hours and the menu was very disappointing. We could barely understand our waitress. I wouldnt recommend going to this restaurant and this was my first time.

I do not recommend this place. This is a restaurant that is over priced for the amount of food given. Took my mother there for her birthday. From the first 5 mins of waiting mom was wanting to go somewhere else. It was too loud the whole time for her. We could hardly understand the waitress from her absurdly broken english (European acsent) to the loud unruly children running everywhere to the noise being pumped throughout the place trying to be music. Now I loved the appetizer platter we got. Chicken strips (4) eggrolls (4) cheese sticks (4) with chips and dip. If would have known that was going to be the best thing here I'd have ordered two. $18.99 for 8 shrimp coslaw with no dressing and too many house fries and no taste at all. Disapointing. Wont go back. At least we got to sit by the aquarium that we had to tell the waitress after she tried sitting us somewhere else without the view. Not worth the money to go here.

Had the fish dinner and it was excellent. Also had steak and shrimp and that was excellent also. The device was excellent too. You must apply for a rewards card and receive points that lead to money off.

At first it looks like a great place don't be fooled. Server took forever to come and get us waters, then I asked for the nonalcoholic drinks or fruit juices and i got the Holi Moli 'Big Mistake'. The server told me if I got the suveneir glass it was 6 oz bigger and only $3 i thought it was worth only for the extra 6 oz, thats a lie. When she brought the cup it was the same size if not smaller than regular cups, the juice was super sweet nothing to pay $8 for. I got one of the specials for$25 with the sword fish when they brought it the plate it self is tiny maybe 3 oz of unseasoned, tasteless, dry swordfish. 4 medium size coconut shirmps 'not very tasty either and their sause was super sweet and gross.
THIS PLACE IS OVERPRICED, FOOD IS FAR FROM GOOD, PORTIONS ARE TYNY SERVICE IS POOR.
Dont waste your money just walk by the gift shop if you want but save your self the dinner, there are plenty of much better places , much more affordable as well. Seafood lovers go anywhere else but here VStar I recommend. Pasta lovers, The olive Garden is waaaay ahead of this place and far better service, price and taste. Tropical drink lovers, DON'T even think about it this place has no idea what is a tropical fruit drink. They sell you a coolaid type of mix for $8 no refill just gross. I hope this helps prople make better choices.

Service was great, staff for the most part was friendly. We enjoyed our time and the food was good. Our down side was our volcano was a little dry as far as the brownie goes. The ride was cute and a decent length. We felt bad there was only one guy working the ride when there should have been atleast 2 of them.

I've been here several times. This specific Rainforest Cafe is known for being inside a big volcano. On the outside of the restaurant around dinner time they usually set up a bunch of people in the plaza with games and music and airbrush tattoos. The wait to get seated is usually pretty long because it's located right in between the San Luis hotel and the Hilton Galveston Resort with lots of hungry families. The river adventure ride is $6 a person and its a fun thing to do while waiting to be seated. It's just a lazy River with animatronics, however it could be scary for little kids as there is a lightning storm and some dark scenes towards the end of the ride. I'd say it's worth $6 a person (but nothing more) as it has some cool features but it's nothing crazy. Don't expect any drops or to get wet. The service itself in the restaurant is typical of any Landry's, pleasant overall. Prices for food are also typical of any Landry restaurant: $15-$20 a meal. The gift shop outside has a build a bear inside of it with rainforest creatures that kids can build.
Overall this rainforest cafe is nicer than most when it comes to atmosphere, but besides the extra tourist activities during the summer it's the same as any other Landrys.
