Brunch here was the most wonderful way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious - bacon, seafood, desserts, crepes- all of it was delicious. The staff was incredibly nice, from the reception hosts at the base of the super fast elevator to our kind and amazing servers, Rafael. He explained everything, shared with us his favorite items on the menu and even brought us a special dessert for our anniversary. He made our morning so special. The room is beautiful- gorgeous views even on and overcast day, decorated in muted gray and crystal touches everywhere. The musical performers were great. The only disappointment was that there was no dancing- that is my misconception, but still, I was looking for to dancing. Please take a moment to dress in something special- seeing folks dining in such a beautiful place dressed in sweats and sneakers was disappointing.
Viewing deck was closed with no explanation. Had a Bronx cocktail. It was the worst cocktail I have ever been served. The bar tender knocked the first batch all over the bar then proceeded to concoct the most vile potion ever served. I couldn't drink it as it literally burned all the way down. I am Scottish therefore I am built to withstand the strongest of beverage but this was absolutely disgusting. On a plus side, the views were incredible. That's about it!
IT IS A PLACE IN THE CENTER OF MANHATTAN, WITHIN THE ROKEFELER CENTER THAT IS A CITY EMBLEMATIC AREA. THE INTERIOR IS PRESUMED FAMILY BY THE GREAT NUMBER OF FILMS THAT HAS BEEN FILMED THERE. THE FOOD IS INTERNATIONAL AND I LOOK GOOD. IT IS ABOVE THE AVERAGE OF LUXURY RESTAURANTS IN NEW YORK. IN SUMMARY .. IT IS AN OBLIGATED PLACE FOR ANY PERSON VISITING THE CITY OF THE APPLE.
Such a jewel in the city. The food I had here: Lobster Risotto - is the absolute best meal I've ever had in my life. So good, truly. You must go there and try for yourself. Some really good drinks, that make sense to try, since it's a whole new experience you are in.
Not since The Windows on the World existed have we had such an extravagant, beautiful, glamorous, delicious, and, yes, extraordinarily expensive brunch option in NYC. This is not your ordinary weekend brunch spot but, rather, a place for special celebrations or once-in-a-lifetime visits to NYC to experience the beautiful views over Manhattan, the glamour and charm of 1940s New York, and the beautiful, abundant, and decadent food. There is also live music (which was outstanding) at every brunch which varies from week to week but all of which has that '40s vibe.
We went recently for an 80th birthday celebration and had 3 generations of our family there. Though children over 12 are considered adults, they kindly only charged my two teenagers (15 and 17) the child price of $65 (adults are $125 per person). My 12 year old, who has multiple food allergies and who, therefore, did not eat any of the food they served (I brought all of his for him) was served free-flowing beverages at no charge (I did let them know of his situation in advance). Also, my 2 older children have life-threatening food allergies to all peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame. I informed the restaurant a few days in advance. They could not have been more wonderful. The chef personally spoke to us about options from the menu that were ok for them, the pastry chef came out at dessert time and went through every single dessert option on the buffet (it is enormous) and told them every item they could have and what they could not have. Our waiter was fabulous and took extra care to make sure they were comfortable with the food being served and made sure to give lots of attention to my youngest because he could tell being in such a food-crazy environment had to have been tough on him.
And let's not forget about the very demanding 80 year old birthday boy who frequently takes issue with restaurants. He was pleased as punch and had the most wonderful birthday. He was especially happy to see how caring the entire staff was toward his grandchildren.
If you live in the NYC area and want a really special experience or, if you're visiting and want a taste of an iconic New York City experience, get online or pick up the phone and make your reservation now! Not to be missed!
A bit of a tourist vibe, but it's worth checking out at least once. Great views and a cool place to have a drink or two with friends. But, not a place to spend an entire evening. I also ate here once with a friend and we both agreed the food was good, not great.
Albeit we went to the Rainbow Room for a private event, the venue was top notch, with must-see views. Definitely an iconic NYC landmark, the Rainbow Room is at the top of the Rockefeller Center. The service left a little to be desired, though... As it appeared the bar staff were all long time employees, probably part of a union, so no incentive to serve faster or put in more effort for better customer service.
We had the best burger ever! For 65$ : Clash of the Titans Burger Grilled Maine Lobster, Truffle Cheese, Cabernet-Braised Short Rib, Champagne Hollandaise, House-Cured Maple Bourbon Bacon, 8 oz. Chef's Blend of Short Rib, Skirt Steak, Chuck, Aged NY Strip, Triple-Cooked Fries +stunning views on Central Park and Manhattan top of the rock Rockefeller center
And take a Hansom carriage ride Through Central Park! I have several once in a lifetime events..this was my favorite!
DRINK IN THE VIEWS..NIGHT OR DAY, IT'S STUNNING!! Make a weekend of it - Dine & Dance, and return for Brunch.
My College BFF had a December wedding, and her Mom catered a small reception at the Rainbow Room...it was really so special.. their band was spectacular and the Rooftop turns and it was just one of the most glamorous and spectacular evenings & weddings I've ever experienced.. I thought nothing would top my college graduation party at Top of the World, at the Twin Towers ...but Karen's wedding , and my graduation party, are very special and phenomenal on their own..so many happy memories . You need to dine, & dance the night away at least once in your life!
Very nice venue. Wonderful views of the city and a relaxed vibe. I highly recommend this place! It can get quite packed so I recommend reserving a table in advance.
I went to a wedding at the Rainbow Room last night. The wedding was well planned out. Our dinner options were filet mignon and fish.
One of our friends got sick and needed to go home, so my friend escorted him home and came back. When he was gone, dinner was served and the server actually offered with her own initiative to keep the food warm until my friend came back. Not many people would notice or care, but the servers at the Rainbow Room did. When my friend was back, I didn't even have to flag down any of the servers because within a few minutes his plate was in front of him, kept warm.
This was a great experience overall and I would definitely come back.
Extraordinary! The Rockerfeller Centre is a beautiful building and I was there to see the gorgeous ice rink placed at the front and was fortunate enough to be able to go inside and have dinner. I loved every bit of it. Delicious and I would definitely go back if I had the chance.
We highly recommend Rainbow Room! This place exceeded out expectations! Not only is the chapel pristine, but the attention and caring disposition from all the staff here made our special day EXTRAORDINARILY. We were all grieving my mother's passing, they ensured that they acknowledged and included my parent's memory in the ceremony. We had family watching the wedding through the live feed, family that couldn't attend. Their prices are extremely affordable for the quality and attention to detail that you receive. More importantly, they will to anything and everything so that your wedding day is more than you expect. I am so glad we found this chapel, and I guarantee you will not find any other chapel that can come close to its beauty. We wouldn't trust our wedding day to anyone else, memories that will last a lifetime.
Lunch in the Plaza / dining room (at the Ice Rink in winter and Prometheus Fountain other seasons) great. Service is excellent and the food is very good and surprisingly not unreasonably priced...is that Chris Mathews over there....
The Rainbow Room is a New York icon that seldom disappoints patrons. The menu, service and views are hard to beat. Visit during the holidays to take in the great decorations and wonderful seasonal menu.
If you ever get the chance, just go. $20/drink is well worth it. The bartenders are excellent and friendly as well. Class on another level. Get a reservation and a table. You'll be glad you did.
Appealing to tourists, myself being one. If you make a reservation, you can avoid the wait. Also, you can get a table and not just hang in the center standing area. Drink selection is good, fries are tasty. Views are nice, as one would expect from high rises in Manhattan.
Beautiful views (lucky us to be there in the middle of a summer lightning show), spectacular rose wine pop up experience, and they fed me deliciousness, too! Win, win, win.
Had a bad oyster with a moving worm. And the manager didn't do anything to show their apologize except a cup of green tea. Maybe because I'm Asian. She thought it's fine to treat me and friend like this. Can't believe $162 buffet has this low quality of food. And it was Father's Day. What would happen if a father had this oyster? Really a big surprise! Extra protein!
