Very nice well kept rooms and property. The only suggestion would be to supply hot cup sleeves at the coffee station. The coffee is very hot. So hot that I had to switch hands back and forth while waiting for the elevator. LOL

As soon as I got there the keys to my room were not working I had to double back down to have them reset my keys I had asked for a room closer to the pool area they over looked my request . The phone in my room was broke not working what s so ever the ice machine was broken on all floors except for the third floor I was charge extra $250 because the house keeper said they was smoking in the room I brought my young kid to swim in the pool area for one night total over $400 because they are accusing me of smoking a n my room I have called te manager Brad and he has not yet respond to my voicemails

Very helpful and friendly staff. Renovations looked promising, but they were not done at the time of our stay. Restaurant and bar were very convenient and of good quality. Very friendly waitresses (Thank you Susan and Sally!) and were a large part of making our stay wonderful. Amazing food! (Get the Spinach and Artichoke dip! By far our favorite thing there.) Got a lovely view of the river on the fifth floor, though with the renovations we were unable to go down by the river. Only experience we had with room service was, unfortunately, a bad one. Room service manager knocked on our door repeatedly to inform us that we were two hours late for check out when we still had another day at the hotel. We informed the room service manager of the mistake that had been made and she told us that she would speak to management about this issue. After waiting in our room for an hour for a response, we decided to go to the front desk. Upon closing the door on our way down, we realized the key cards no longer worked and all our stuff was locked in the room. After speaking to the lady at the front desk about this NEW issue, we got two new key cards and learned that we indeed still had a day before we were checking out. Overall great experience, despite the panic at the end.

The Grand River Hotel was easy to locate off the high way going north. The room was super clean and cozy! Upon arrival they were friendly and kind. I got in late and left early so I was unable to use any amenities.
More like a one star! They should have paid me to stay there with the amount of bed bugs I left with in my bag. I practically clean out that hotel I bet they all left to come with me.
Met long-lost friends there. Went to a wedding. Had a great time.

The room itself was pretty nice. but, the website was just awful and never got the details of my reservation right. So making any changes to the reservation required a call to the hotel, and the front desk staff was often busy which meant long holds. I enjoyed my stay overall but probably would pick a different hotel next time.
Meeting rooms were nice, but the walls are thin if the group in the next room is making any noise.

Great value. Seems upscale. Great pool. Pot and cigarette smokers hung out by the back entrance where were parked the entire time. Request a room towards the front of the hotel. The smokers made the elevator reek. Im pretty sure they work or live there.
Had a retirement gathering for law enforcement and correctional officers in the River Rock Lounge the staff was very professional the bar tender was just awesome will definitely recommend this hotel to stay and meet up

I've stayed in my fair share of hotels as I travel a lot for business. Let me tell you, this was more like staying in the sketchy highway motel than anything. My first night there, I had pubic hair (pubic hair!) in my bath towels, I had hair in my bed, and the carpet tacks were exposed. The day after letting hotel staff know these problems, which they assured me would be fixed, there was still hair in my towels. Not only that, but whoever was doing the housekeeping also didn't restock the coffee machine, and failed to clean the bathroom (it looked dirtier than I had left it that morning - hair everywhere). Icing on the cake was the day when my hair dryer fell off the wall (into my sink which, thankfully, was empty - yet still a huge safety risk) and when housekeeping kept trying to get into room even though my "DO NOT DISTURB" sign was in the door. Overall horrible experience. Usually I'm not super picky, but this was just ridiculous.
It's very roomy, the rooms are nice, and everything is pretty accessible. The room service is efficient and won't bother you unless you specifically ask for their help.
We checked into our room only to find the shower covered in mold. We were reassigned to a second room where a condom wrapper was left in the trash in a clean room. We checked out immediately after that.
Probably the worst bed I have ever slept on, and that includes several deployments. Building is in need of internal maintenance here and there. Overall clean and ok breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.
Weddings beware! My wife and I reserved a wedding block of rooms at the hotel in winter that was supposed to be rooms for our guest and a king suite for myself for two nights to have all the groomsmen over to get dressed the morning before the wedding. Friday afternoon when I went to check in they said they had my block reserved no such reservation for my room and all the suite rooms were booked. I was very surprised since I had called 2 months prior to confirm our block and my room and they told us everything was all set and we would be good to go. When I got there I was told the person in charge of reserving my room for me had forgotten to put it in the system. I had to take a normal sized room and have 10 people get dressed in tuxedos in a small 1 bed hotel room. It was cramped to say the least. After going through all of that when my wife and I returned to the hotel after a long wedding day we got up to the room and our keys had stopped working so we had to go down to the lobby dressed in full tuxedo and wedding dress to get them reactivated. The entire stay was a disaster I would not return again and I would caution others doing so. It appears even calling to confirm your arrangements ahead of time isn't good enough. Go somewhere else and save yourself the headache at the last minute!

This was by far the BEST hotel experience I have ever had in Grand Rapids (or anywhere) I've stayed. The room was immaculately cleaned and far better than rooms I've paid more for. Coming from somebody who was a maid the cleaning staff here is worthy of very high praises.
My complaints: we were told by multiple people (staff members and the front desk who we booked with) that we could shuttle to fifth third ball park. But the attendant at the desk said the shuttle didn't run that way. Complaint two don't charge for a Continental Breakfast. Its not worth it and the food wasn't anything special.
Back to praises though. The bar and restaurant was amazing had two HUGE portions (I had a Buffalo Chicken Wrap and my partner a healthy sized burger and two draft beers with more fries than we could eat) for a total of $21 during happy hour. The bartender was very helpful and the food was top notch. To top it all off the view was spectacular overlooking the river. We will be coming back. This made our little one day vacation so much more enjoyable

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Deltaplex for a concert. There was a free shuttle that took us to the venue so we did not have to worry about parking or paying for an Uber. Everything was very clean and the service was friendly. We did not take advantage of breakfast or the other amenities so I can't comment on those services. I would definitely choose this hotel again in the future.
Great dinner and relaxing night in the hot tub. Only reason for 4 stars is they say free continental breakfast then charge 2$ each? No big deal about a couple dollars for breakfast but $2 each isn't free now is it.?

Its okay, bad area! Don't be caught walking around at night in front of the hotel. Also, they advertise music by live musicians but then when we came they canceled. So 3 days of zero entertainment. Also' the breakfast had bugs in the food. Almost threw up. I dont think ill visit grand rapids ever again.
For the price, I would choose something else. The attendant at the desk was not only less than enthused to check us in, he was almost hostile. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain, the bathroom wasn't stocked with towels, and the pull down blind won't pull down. But, it's clean and smells good.
The hotel was clean and the room was the right size for the modest price. Would absolutely stay there again when in Grand Rapids.
I have stayed in worse and better at this price but overall not a bad place just not great either. I would stay again if I couldn't find any thing better in the general area. The staff was friendly and the hotel is clean these are things that make this a good hotel. The room on the other hand could have been better. It was clean it's just the amenities could used some upgrades in the room. As an example the desk top was peeling off and was attempted to be repaired with construction adhesive and just somethings like that where you could tell whom ever is making the repairs needs to know what they are doing not just think they know.
Great location right on the Grand River, but not extremely well kept. The furniture is modern and nice, but the windows were filthy, and the bones of the building are older. Also, the wifi rarely worked, but it's free.

The bad - treadmill in the workout room doesn t work, elevator has very spotty functionality, ice machines currently don t work on 5th and 6th floor, main light in our room doesn t completely turn off at night, room service didn t show the entire day to clean room/replace towels (called down four times - was told someone would address the issue. Came back later that night with 3 new towels thrown on the bed and room had not been cleaned). Horrendous overall service.
Have stayed in a lot of hotels. This by far is my worst hotel experience.
We stayed for one night. The hotel seems dated, but the room was (mostly) clean, the restaurant food was great, the lounge was fun and active, and the employees were very hospitable. The location is easy to find. The only complaint was a bit of noise in the morning. It sounded like they were renovating a room. It was fine, but unexpected considering it was the 4th of July. The shower was a bit grimy as well. Overall, I would stay here again.
The bathroom was very small. The room service was good and they were very calm and thorough. The tiny desk was very nice as well. I liked the entrance to the hotel that was very nice. Overall a good hotel

Our experience at the hotel started off well. We were pleased with the service initially and the decor. We were NOT impressed when the hotel charged us twice. When we called to get this fixed, the front desk said they would have management call us...they never did. We have called multiple times and it has still not been resolved. Unfortunately, my father in law who also stayed there at the same time has had the same experience. I would have had a better rating but the customer service shown to my family was very poor and it has been almost 2 months since we stayed there. Think twice before booking your stay.
Stayed for Metallica concert! Hotel was great clean comfortable and they offered free shuttle to and from the venue!!
Driving up to the hotel I was a little leary. There were panhandlers and homeless people all around the area which made me feel uneasy. Walking in, it looked nice. The front desk people were very nice and helpful. The room was okay. It was clean. The cable kept going out and there isn't many channels. The TV was also fuzzy and low resolution. The hallways smelled like pot and were musty. The pool was dirty and there was bugs and hair in it. We were also very disappointed that the hot tub was closed the whole two days that we were here. We had breakfast at the restaurant and the food was good and the waitress was really nice. We used the shuttle service one afternoon and the driver, Alex, was very nice and helpful. Overall it was an okay experience. I just expected more for how much we paid.
Nice atmosphere and customer service that goes the extra mile. Ada, a server in the restaurant, offered to help a customer by bringing food to her room. Nice to see the extra care as an anonymous observant guest.
The hotel is under reniavation so there was like 0 parking spots. The pool wasnt open. Our room had no heat or air because the heater was broke. There was no rooms to give us so we had to deal with it. Couldnt use our mini fridge because it had a strong rotten fish order that easily stunk up the whole room if it was opened. The only chair in the room had a nasty large sticky brown stain on the back. To literally have no heat, when it was freezing and pay $140 unbelievable.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable complete with a sleep number bed. There was an indoor heated pool, fitness room, plus a lounge and restaurant. Room service was available although I did not use it. There were conference rooms on the premises as well. This was a great place to stay at a great price. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in Grand Rapids.

I wouldn t recommend staying in this hotel. Me and my girlfriend stayed last night and our shower barely worked, the faucet was falling off the sink and we got double charged. When I called to complain they refused to do anything. Definitely will not be staying again.

Seemed like a pretty wild crowd there. We asked for a roll away bed but they forgot. Eventually we were able to get that squared away though. Overall it's fine for a clean place to rest for a night.
The staff were friendly, the food and service impressive, and they have free WIFI. We didn't use the pool/spa but a lot of others did. They have a bar/lounge (The Landing) and the live band (Glass House) was super. We Will go again.

Absolutely horrible. They're remodeling and still open, however, the workers are rude and we're blocking elevators, setting off fire alarms. Beds are super hard, there was no phone on the room, no TV remote. Would never recommend this place to family or friends coming in again.
Extremely friendly staff and a really nicely remodeled hotel. Can tell it could still use a few upgrades(paint peeling in bathtub) but overall the updated hotel was great. Yard games set up like giant chess were a neat addition. Also Very easy highway access. I would highly recommend.
Is good hotel. Perfectly clean. Not too pricey. Staff is nice. Room is big. AC is quiet. Blinds work. Pool, exercise room open until 11pm! Art in rooms is b&w photos of GR, very slick. View from room is lovely. Patio is fab. Has complimentary shuttle service every 30 minutes. Is near bike path. Is near Mike's Wings.

the 40-year-old virgin at the front desk kicked us out because he doesn't know how to run a credit card machine. He tried charging our card three times and for some reason it wasn't on file. Told us to go get the card and then I guess we needed to get our ID so we had to go back and forth to our room three times That's when we told him that it was kind of crazy that they were having us to do this because of their unprofessionalism and then he kicked us out. All that pent up aggression...
Great location with lots of food and breweries within 5 minutes. Rooms were nice, cable TV was a little fuzzy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cool views of the river.
The room was nice and clean. The bathroom was a bit small for me but it was clean and stacked with clean towels. Bed was comfortable. I wish they had better cable channels. Only that was dirty was microwave. Other than that the experience was pleasant especially for a last minute decision.
The location was great! Not right in the heart of downtown so it wasnt too busy around the area. Rooms were gorgeous. The whole hotel is beautiful since remodel. The restaurant within had very poor service. Not timely what so ever. We ran into a few issues with the hotel and the employees were very unprofessional and rude. Not the best customer service but the hotel is great.
The owner of this hotel is trash. He's running this place into the ground.

Puchased through Expedia, they gave us the wrong room, staff was helpful and sorted things out for us. Decent room, heating and cooling work well. Internet does not work. Cuts in and out constantly so there is no way you can bring anything for streaming, so the TV is pretty worthless. Unless you like news. Bed also has plastic around it so it gets quite warm in the night. Bathroom is very small and tight, cannot open the door if on the toilet because they barely fit by each other. Also, have to have door open to bathroom during shower because there is no ventilation: so don't share this room with someone if you aren't comfortable with that. Overall ok, but I won't think of it as a first choice in the future.
It's a three star hotel for sure. There's nothing especially great about the rooms, nor is there anything bad. My room faced the highway and I could hear the traffic all night. The toilet would sound like it was cycling water every fifteen minutes, so I closed the bathroom door to muffle the noise. The complementary coffee in the lobby was a nice touch, as was the free shuttle. Free parking is the biggest plus to this place. Location leaves a little too be desired since it's two miles north of the Devos center, and there's nothing really next to the hotel. To sum it all up, you get what you pay for here. OH, the shower head is high enough for a taller person to shower comfortable, big plus!
Clean room, great bed, nice decor. A couple glitches were the room darkening shade not going down, no glass plate in microwave & no apparent exhaust fan in the bathroom. I understand the property was recently renovated, but not sure about the bathroom fan situation.
Everything was excellent! The staff was polite, the shuttle service was efficient, and the breakfast was outstanding!
