Went to return some shoe glue that did not work. A staff member there had suggested it to me, but when I got on the trail the stuff failed within a mile.
What made it worse, is the manager there insinuated that I didn't even get it from quest, which he chose to do in front of tons of other customers which was pretty embarrassing.

Good selection of outdoor gear, even though a lot of the stuff is not very affordable for me. Still though, despite the prices, there were some items which I could afford and everything there is of good quality.
I love everything about this store. Favorite outdoor store, favorite local store, favorite people. Great selection and great knowledge across the board.
Staff, Products, Selection are all awesome! Louisville's local outdoor flagship. It's good to support responsible community conscientious stores, dudes. Be a good dude. Shop at Quest.
Im not from Louisville and this was my first time in this store. I was so disappointed that I got in to late because they were closing early for the holiday. The staff was extremely friendly and they had an amazing product assortment. The prices were also in line with any other outdoors store ive shopped. Thank you quest
Quest Outdoors is an awesome place for outdoor gear! They have a wide variety of hiking shoes: Salewa, Salomon, Merrell, and much more. The associates were all kind and willing to help. When my father-in-law were there, we had tons of More
Incredible experience here! Coffee shop in the store with a super friendly barista. Great selection of outdoor stuff. The guys at the register (Mike) were helpful and hospitable. Definitely worth the stop in. Everyone was friendly.
Visited the Shelbyville location today to purchase a gift. Walked into the store took several minutes to locate a salesperson. Was directed by this person where the merchandise was, found another salesperson to help me. Although, there were no other customers around he was not interested in helping and answering my questions. He showed me the labels and left me. On the way to pay I picked up several other small items to purchase. At the cash register the guy was preoccupied talking to another worker going as far as calling me "sir". Is this home town service from a local store? I go out of my way to support local stores, but I don't know if this customer service was worth keeping it local. There are many other choices...
I have had two poor experiences with the customer service at Quest. I will not be shopping there in the future. Several of my friends have had the same experience, unfortunately.
Quest has everything you need if you're going camping or hunting or trying to stay warm in the winter. The parking lot is a bit busy, but it's nice to have an outdoor store locally
Quality products from people who enjoy the outdoors just as much as you do! Friendly, helpful staff introduce the latest and greatest equipment to enhance your outdoor fun! Don't be surprised when your need to have list triples for your return visit.
Friendly staff, excellent stock. Pricey.. but I will say, the expensive coat I purchased has lasted over 15 years! Ya' get what ya pay for. 15% military discount beats amazon prices.
Didn't have any items in my size and I was informed that you're online has been nonexistent due to running behind two months or longer. The rep was extremely awesome.
This is my favorite outdoor store for camping, hiking and climbing stuff. And it's a small, local biz! They offer quality products, expert advice, and fair prices. They also have a coffee shop downstairs which never hurts :)
A locally owned business with friendly service. They offer mid to high end level outdoor gear. Everything I've bought from there has always lasted, so the quality is worth the price. They have a great selection of active wear - for on & off the hiking trail.
Quest has EVERYTHING for the outdoors. From gear, to nice looking clothing, Quest has it all. Four of us purchased boots at Quest, prior to walking 250 miles last year, on the Camino De Santiago, in Portugal and Spain. None of us experienced any blisters, which normally are a common problem on the Camino.
Can be quite a bit more expensive than buying online, but sometimes buying local is worth it. Their clearance section is always worth a look. Plus, they have a nice coffee shop downstairs.
The worst part about trying to come here is dealing with Shelbyville Road traffic and then finding parking.
We are so fortunate to have this store near us. I pop on from time to time to pick up msr fuel. They have a large selection of gear. I really enjoy the events like Sherpa night and anniversary festivities.
My favorite outdoor shop in the area! Quest Outdoors is my top choice for buying any kind of gear when I go backpacking, caving, rock climbing, and kayaking. They also have a wide range of everyday apparel as well. Wish I could purchase everything in this store!
Staff is always very helpful. They sell top quality stuff. Unfortunately, the prices are very high as well. Be prepared to dish out some dough. The good news is that those items should last you a life time. If you are serious about outdoor gear, this is your place. Don't forget to try their coffee. It's awesome as well.
Very pleased each time making a purchase, here. Within the last month I bought a Thule car box for the roof of our SUV. The managers and staff were incredibly helpful when we picked it out and lent suggestions and their opinion on the model and size. They understood what we were looking for and were patient while we took a little time to decide on which to invest in. They promptly helped us to install it on our roof, gave some helpful hints for use, and we were on our way. Very happy with the end result and took the car box with us for a road trip of 20+ hours of driving. Definitely a level of customer service you do not receive buying from Amazon or other big box stores. Thanks, guys!
Below is my original review. Mr. King the owner did contact me very quickly and fixed any issue I had. He only required me to come into the store to exchange or return. Scott sent word of apology. I left converted to a very happy customer. While there, Bobby talked me right into more of the Smart Wool socks. He was also apologetic and very knowledgeable about their products. I will be back to Quest Outdoors..... SOON. A much more personal experience then any of the larger chain outdoor stores Mr. King is a "Stand-up" business owner. Thanks. /////////
(1 star) My first experience and last with Quest Outdoors was at the St. Mathews location. I purchased after dealing with a great sales person a $150.00 pair of Treksta water proof hiking shoes.
The shoe Failed to be water proof as promised. Upon returning to the store, Scott a "manager" chose to make me a very unhappy customer. He let me know that to complete the return the shoe needed to be in like new condition. Scott how could a hiking boot that failed to be waterproof while on my foot be in like new condition? To make matters worse he was aggressive and rude in delivering the news to me, a customer in his mind I would imagine is always wrong. I rate my experience a One because of Scott the only bad employee I came in contact with out of 4 and taking in consideration their evidently very flawed return policy. Would Bass Pro or Cabela's treat me like this? Never have!!
I love going into Quest and seeing friendly and familiar faces! I recently went in and purchased a pair of Blundstone boots and I love them. If you need any outdoor gear there is no place else to go!
