As parents of two Hidden Valley campers we absolutely adore this camp. Our children -- who are very different from each other -- thrive here and we see the benefits all year long. The camp is such a wonderful mix of relaxed, creative, adventuresome and safe. They clearly put so much thought into everything from the activities they offer to the way they train and support their counselors. We love the international flavor of it too. If only we grown ups could be campers!
I have been a camper at HVC for 2 years now, (about to be my 3rd) and I very much enjoyed HVC myself, and I love all the activities!
Great time at a wedding here. Location is beautiful and food was great. Camp accommodations are no-frills, no-heat rustic but fun.
I worked here for two summers in the 90s. I learned a lot about people, about myself, and about the wonder of children. It's the hardest and most rewarding work I've ever done.
The most amazing summer camp you could ever send your kids to. Has a range of activities from aquatics to horseback riding to the arts. I wish I could have gone as a kid!
My daughter has a much bigger, better life, more joy, true friendships because of Hidden Valley Camp. It is the most important part of her year!
I worked at this camp several years ago. It s in a secluded area and the positives are: good location overall and some good activities for kids. There s also a nice lake. The kids are great as any summer camp would be. These kids mostly come from cities and urban areas so they have little to no experience in the woods unless they are a repeat camper. Taking them on a hike or a bike ride, they get really tired and complain a lot. However, working with kids can be really rewarding. I worked here as a camp counselor after I graduated from college and before I went to grad school in the summer. The couple that owns this camp are really strange and weird. The guy Peter is very bad tempered and moody. Like several organizations in New England that are in rural areas, the owners make up their own rules and pretty much do whatever they want - little dictators in their own fiefdom who are ready to throw out anyone for just asking questions. They don t pay hardly anything but just offer meals and basic housing (bunk beds). They also bring in a lot of people from Europe, Australia and NZ as cheap labor in exchange for a visa and permission to come here. It would be good if there was some regulation in this industry both from labor perspective to just how they run things. There were so many areas that were broken and run down. They charge the parents of the kids a lot so that really should not be happening.
A truly special place. Lifetime memories made here.
I am extremely disappointed in this camp and their refund decisions regarding cancellation because of covid. They cancelled camp and kept thousands of dollars. We will not go back.
Hidden Valley Camp is a wonderful place that allows campers and staff to be themselves in a safe and creative environment. The camp owners instill great values and morals throughout the entire camp culture. It is truly a unique place that has a tremendous setting coupled with eclectic programming and a caring staff!
This camp has changed my life so much, I have met so many great and amazing people that I have kept in touch with over the years. I have learned how to do so many new things, this place is really something special
