You should ask if the patio is available.

I didn't expect that the pizza would be so good. Nothing to say about the Salad.
4star review is because of the price

I was here for an early dinner (the time slot in which most people have happy hour). I only had 30 minutes for dinner before volunteer training. I asked Kelly (if I remember the server's name correctly) if the Pollo alla Birra took a long time to prepare since I had a limited amount of time. He told me that it would take 10 minutes. Awesome!

In 10 minutes, I had a plate of subtly seasoned (the taste of lemon was dominant for those who like hints of lemon). The broccoli had a garlic seasoning which was good. I loved the asiago mashed potatoes. It's not often a restaurant puts asiago in their mashed potatoes but it's an excellent idea.

In terms of service, I didn't have to wait for the bill or the takeout box (the portions are generous). The coffee I ordered towards the end of the meal were put in a to go coffee cup. 2 questions: Was my server psychic? This type of upscale restaurant has to go coffee cups?!

Needless to say, this has been one of the most magical, seamless restaurant experiences I've ever had and I dine out a lot. The next time I'm in town, I'm coming back to try other dishes!

One word: rude. Tried to make a reservation, but the lady at the front said it's fine if we don't because they are not busy. This is during Mother's day. We just want to make sure so we tell her to write our name. However, when we arrived there at our time, she skipped us and gave the table away. We called the manager and neither of them apologized. Worst service ever! If you want a classy meal, eat somewhere else where you have to overpay for good service as opposed to terrible service. Saddest Mother's Day because well, they were rude and didn't apologize. One word makes a difference: sorry. They need to learn that word.

Food is overall great, pepperoni pizza a little more on cheesier and greasier side than I'd like. However, it may be silly to say, but the ice water with lemon slices is so refreshing and crisp tasting. Service is good, and while I know it's located in a mall, can get loud due to crying babies both inside and outside the restaurant.

The salad we ordered was great, the pizza was cold when they served us, one of the guys split wine on me and only say sorry. It is a very busy place, so you should have patience, it takes time for them to get your order.

The outside seating is very cool - reminds me of Little Italy and getting awesome italian food while sitting along the street. Their cocktails are solid and consistent (oh and delicious!). Had the salami pizza and it is clear they have an official pizza oven here - the dough was perfect! My companion had the spaghetti bolognese and it was top notch - texture and flavor were amazing. This was my first time here and I am definitely coming back (soon!)

The price of their food is for a fine dinning and the taste does not live up to it. The authentic Italian taste is not there. It's all aesthetics. Their pizza taste like shakey's pizza. Olive garden is better in taste, experience and price. One of the review says their rude and I will agree on that. They want you in and out fast even though you ordered a lot and you're with a huge group.

We've been coming here for many years. Thet prepare their pasta daily so if you're not used to fresh pasta, be aware. Their carpacio is delicious, the have great quality meat, and their coffee is very good. Give their creme bruele a try and order things like linguini with grilled shrimp off menu. Enjoy!

Great little Italian spot in south coast plaza. Great for people watching. Amazing carpaccio. They have a seafood Mac and cheese that s super creamy, rich and mouthed watering. It s a little pricey, but a good spot. The manager is Italian and super friendly and welcoming.

The place is extremely clean, the food is good the service is normally extremely good if not a little slow but Friday night when they are packed water refills are nonexistent and the staff are clearly very busy and rushed which shows. With that said I will be returning and would recommend anyone to go.

Poor service and very expensive for a cafe. Yes, the food is good, but for an upscale cafe that charges a mandatory 18% gratuity, the service is terrible. I don't mind paying a nice gratuity if it's warranted, but it took 30 minutes to get our order. And my Diet Coke over 10 minutes to arrive at my table. I had to ask twice. I won't go back. Doesn't matter how good the food is. I refuse to leave a mandatory gratuity for poor service.

When my significant other wanted to come here for ...

When my significant other wanted to come here for his birthday lunch, it was an unexpected delight. I love Italian food and people very much, having spent eight years with an Italian family before. My significant other's father goes to Italy every year and loves to spend time in Como. Few restaurants in the United States that we've been to have felt Italian, and this was one of them.

When you come here, nearly entire shopping center scene disappears from your senses. The interior cleverly uses a more honeyed wood color from floor-to-ceiling, creating a more cocooned, relaxed setting. The ingredients used here are fresh and fabulous. It is essentially what food should be but in the United States a lot of things are overly processed and our agricultural industrial complex farming makes for produce lacking in flavor.

I was pleasantly surprised by the tomato sauce tasting just like what I had remembered of a freshly made tomato sauce according to a Nonna's recipe. I hadn't tasted this in almost a decade.

We had spaghetti con polpette and pizza with prosciutto and arugula. The crust, pasta, and bread all had great texture and taste. I loved the bitter bite of the arugula. Imported cheeses were delectable. The meat in the polpette was fresh, the polpette were dense and generous in portion. Pasta was undoubtedly al dente. I love, love, love tomatoes, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar had a beautiful, ripe fruity taste.

The European Union bans an artificial growth hormone that is used a lot in American dairy (rBST, synthesized from a strain of e coli) which some people have adverse reactions to. These reactions can be in creases of inflammation in the body, adrenal and thyroid problems, cystic acne related to hormonal problems, and migraines. My significant other and I have these health issues when we eat dairy with rBST but we had none of these reactions to the foods that we ate at this restaurant.

Speaking of Nonna's, I was curious about a photo of a chocolate cake and a flourless chocolate cake described as a torta della nonna dessert menu. A torta della nonna is a lemony custard tart, isn't it?

We had a white chocolate, berry, pistachio, and cream cake that was utterly delectable. One of the best things we've ever eaten.

The people who work here are very attentive and congenial. We appreciate their warmth and hospitality very much. We'd love to keep coming back.

And, their selection of music is primo.
