Putnam Veterinary Clinic Reviews

Our family of Labradors, including several pups from litters over the years, as well as pets from many of our friends and family all go to Putnam. We have been clients for more than 13 years and consider the staff family. We had tried other local practices prior to finding Dr. Emerson, but never experienced the level of personal care they provide to our pets; they are incredibly thorough, their sense of urgency, coordination of care when necessary, and follow-up in our opinion are the gold standard in Veterinary care. From the front desk staff who greet us always with smiles, to the Vet and Surgical Techs - many who have known our dogs since puppyhood, to the surgeons Dr. Emerson and Dr. Illingworth, every member of this very committed team are the absolute best you can ask for when your pet is in need of medical care.

I want to thank all the staff they were so understanding and compassionate with the loss of our pet. We didn t fell rushed in making a decision and again the understanding was heart felt

We've been taking our cat to Putnam Vet for a number of years and would recommend them highly. The staff is friendly, gentle to the animals, and knowledgeable.

Been going to Putnam for well over 10 years. The staff is great and Dr.Emerson and Dr. Illingsworth are exceptional. I wouldn t trust my fur-babies healthcare to anyone else.

Dr Emerson has been our vet for over 30 years! She initially did house calls (honestly!) before she opened up Putnam Veterinary Clinic. We have been very happy with the quality of care from the Putnam Staff as well as their compassion and honesty. We highly recommend them!

Excellent across the board. Dr Emerson is extremely knowledgeable and the techs are wonderful. Kind compassionate care and it's obvious they love birds. Would highly recommend Putnam to bird owners.

The staff at Putnam veterinarian are amazing. They treat my boys like they are one Of their own. I've never seen a vet and her staff so kind and caring . They will give you the 1 on 1 time that you need.

Not sure about why Zach J had an issue with Putnam Vet Clinic - But I've been coming here for a couple years after getting a new Labrador Retriever and we moved all our pets 1 cat, 2 dogs, and a ferret from a Danvers Vet Clinic, and the difference in service, followup and appointment was obviously better. The Staff here is excellent and helpful. We recently had to put our 16yr old dog down and they were beyond compassionate.
They are highly recommended! 5 Stars.

I called for the first time this morning to see if I could set up an appointment with my gecko. Not only did they get me an appointment on the same day, the staff were also extremely compassionate and very helpful. Could not recommend enough to anyone in the area!

Dr. Emerson and her staff have been our veterinarians for over 25 years! Very friendly and caring.

We have used Putnam (Wendy Emerson) for more than 20 years. I trust her judgement and feel comfortable with her decisions about my pets.

I have been going to Putnam Vet for over 5 years. The staff are knowledgeable, caring, and responsive. All my pets receive stellar attention and care. They are sensitive in handling tough decisions and most importantly, they are skilled at interacting with skittish animals.

There are many very good vets in the area, but for me, what separates them out from the rest is the fact that they are equally skilled in treating all types of animals, including exotic animals such as ferrets and birds.

All staff are exceedingly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend them for avian care; my two pet birds have been very well cared for at Putnam s!

We came to Putnam Vet Clinic under the worst possible circumstances, being on vacation and having our beloved pet fall ill. Our boxer had been diagnosed with a heart condition about 6 months prior and we knew that we had limited time with him, so we took him on vacation with us. Bear fell ill while we were traveling and we found the nearest vet clinic, which happened to be Putnam. Even though we were not established clients and they could not do anything to save our boy upon our arrival, they were incredible. In our time of grief, they were patient and supportive, allowing us to say goodbye in our own time and putting us in contact with a pet crematorium. Upon arriving home from our vacation, without our beloved pet, we found a beautiful sympathy card with his paw prints enclosed. If the staff at Putnam treated strangers so lovingly, I can't imagine anyone in the area taking their beloved pet to any other veterinary practice. 5 stars all the way.

Awful handing of small animals. Took my rat there to get stitches and not only did they over charge, they were extremely ignorant toward the handle/care of rats. Claiming Rats are good social creatures, and picking up my rat by his tail and holding him like that for several minutes.

The staff here are the kindest, most knowledgeable, most understanding and most thoughtful of any veterinarian's office I've ever been to.

Excellent veterinarian clinic. Handled the passing away of my two 20 year old cats with grace, and have cared for my 5 year old Maltese for 4 years. Very happy!

The only veterinary clinic that can work with my double yellow napa Amazon parrot. They know how to handle him properly and are very professional. They handle all sorts of pets.

Great Staff, very nice people. Although they are not completely open about pricing when put a pet down.

I take my 4 Guinea Pigs to see Dr. Fabien and sadly she has left. I was still going to go there and see another vet. I make sure to take them at least every other year for annuals. I called and schedule a nail trim for this coming Friday 8/3/18 with no problems. Today, however, is a new day and someone from their office called to say unless Gus gets a physical of 74 they wouldn t cut his nails. I spend between 100-200 when I go there and now I m being refused service because he was just seen in March. Although it was a physical Dr Fabien was kind enough to not charge since she did other things that came close to 200. This shows they care about money and not the animal, I ll be finding somewhere else and I recommend you do too!

Awesome staff! They do a great job with my girls (rats) highly knowledgeable and very respectful of any species. I leave being treated the same way I would if I were to have a puppy with me. They love all animals and treat them with dignity and respect and give them the best care. I ve had a tumor removal for one of my girls there, and they are excellent with pre and post opt instructions, and contact. I ve had one of my other girls go to be evaluated for a PT. She did have one unfortunately, and they gave me all options of care included doing palliative care at home (I did) and gave me the best medication recommendations for that. When I ran out of pain medicine Dr Illlingworth was there to contact immediately and filled another prescription for my girl. Very grateful for them and thankful for their awesome care! Highly recommend them for any exotic!

We have two dogs that have been going here for a little under two years, we recently switched to a more reputable veterinary clinic and they showed us that the Putnam vet blood work uncovered anaplasma in one of our dogs and they never told us about it. They said we turned down heart worm screening, but neither of us remember even being asked. The actually veterinarians are good here, but the clerical work is terrible to have so many oversights.

They are very knowledgeable and Ollie is very nervous when it comes to going to the vets and they make it as painless as possible for him.

Putnam came recommended to us from our old vet before we moved. We've always had a good experience there. The staff is always wonderful, and the facility is always clean and tidy. They offer free coffee and tea in the waiting room, and stress reducing towels and bandanas for the furry ones. Can't really ask anything more from your vet. We love it here.
