Just had some donuts; they were just incredibly delicious.
Nice place for a coffee and bit to eat. Nothing spectacular but atrium style courtyard setting gives a pleasant ambiance. Coffee was average (milk was frothy and ordered double and got single) and food served in cardboard with baking paper. Rustic furniture with stools and picnic benches. Not cheap at $24 for two coffees a jam croissant a filled croissant and a bagel.
We liked the look of this place and the place was clean and tidy. The food was interesting, diverse and well presented. The prices are good and the meals were tasty. the presentation of the food on it's plate and the latte coffee was good and added to our experience. We will come back for the taste of the food and good seating.
Public Catering is awesome. Coffee? Brilliant! Pastries? Far too good! Staff? All wonderful.
If they weren't so good it would save me some money.
The food here is so good and the coffee is nice too.
Disappointed.
Went in for a Coffee and a small bite to eat with my family and was told there was going to be a 15 minute wait for Coffee.... Well, no one was even on the machine trying to get through the orders.
We decided we weren't going to wait and as we left my mother told me this has happened to her before and she feels like it's always a 'No' kind of place.
I'm not going to give them another chance.
Great food and atmosphere....extremely slow at making coffee.
I have enjoyed my experience at The Public Catering Company the place is posh and the people are happy and smiling. The food is creative and fun and the pie crust that is my husband's favourite is perfect. I personally love their choice of donuts. I paid prices I am delighted with. The location of this one of a kind restaurant is convenient and central.
It s a place with delicious almond croissants and flat whites.
Open space is cool!
Really great food, only cabinet food available not cooked to order so its easy to have good quality food prepped and cooked in advance. Coffee nothing to write home about.
Beautiful food and coffee. Especially loved the lamington donut. Was hoping to get a cream donut which they are famous for, but unfortunately they had sold out .
Beautiful baked goodies, we tried their donut, creme brulee and croissant which were full of flavour and not too sweet, just right.
Great atmosphere, awesome coffee and amazing donuts!
Public has great food and a nice atmosphere alongside the shared courtyard, it really feels quite magical.
Unfortunately every time I ve been there the customer service at the counter has been quite unfriendly, despite my best efforts. I ve also witnessed this to those in front of me in line and friends/family have said the same thing. It s not an isolated experience. The waitress staff are lovely but the counter service I ve found unpleasant.
It s one reason why I don t go more often. The place itself is awesome!
Great service, very friendly staff and great coffee and food!
Best sourdough in New Plymouth! Excellent Berliners.
Loved the food, pulled pork bagel is brilliant. The coffee is good which is a rarity for Taranaki.
Everything about Public Catering Company should be brilliant. The space is fabulous... the design elements are gorgeous and the food is generally very good. BUT... I have been kept waiting sooo long for coffee and /or food. The last time I went for a takeaway drink, it was suggested that I should go over the road to Monica's Eatery instead of wait!! I've had the wrong order brought to me twice, but mostly it's the waiting. Sorry PCC... I have persisted because I love your place, but where's the drive and energy to get the service and timing right?
If you only go to one place in New Plymouth you should come here. The food and shakes are freakin amazing
Great sophisticated cafe with amazing food and atmosphere!
A nice place for a Sunday morning coffee.
We had very tasty almond croissants and maple doughnut.
The tables were a bit dirty with bird poop on them, small detail.
We enjoyed good friendly service, a very tasty Bacon and egg croissant and good coffee for breakfast this morning here. I do recommend their classic doughnut and there is a great selection of other yummy looking doughnuts and cabinet food as well. Visit this "bakery" as the friendly owner calls it, you won't be disappointed
Fantastic hidden gem in New Plymouth! Excellent seating areas well designed, trendy space.
The HUGE selection of donuts had hubby and son both stumped for what they would choose! They also have extensive savoury options for people like me.
Such good strong coffee hubby went back for a second one. The little donut on the side of our coffee was very cool.
Delicious! Food was yum (boys loved the chilli beef pies), good coffee.
Hidden jem. Had Creme Brule donut, and a sherbert lime shake. Perfection, highly recommended
