Delicious food and very friendly staff!! No air conditioning when we went sweat was pouring off of us, went for my birthday didnt receive any kind of dessert.

Went here twice already with friends and this place is great! The drinks and food are delicious and I love how they have lots of vegan options here! The music is also awesome too. Great place to hang out with friends :)

Though I was seated and served quickly by a decent waiter, the food is well below par.
Burnt nachos with hardly any cheese or toppings were served first (they were out of the original appetizer we wanted), followed by tasteless french fries and lunch meat on toasted bread which they call a Turkey club. Not the best dinner in the world.

Music here can be odd (given the name they play loud rap music when you would be expecting calming music) definitely a place for university students name was misleading but the food was alright and not the greatest service nothing to write home about

100% average. But when things are 5.95 what can you expect. Cheaper then Mcdonalds,and better! Great place for lunch

Been here once before and didnt write a review but both times were amazing. Our waitress was kind and funny, attentive and fast. Food was very cheap (6$ a meal) on Saturdays and sundays. I got the salmon dish and it was very good. Highly recommend on weekends. Our table also got the wings (mediocre), tacos (good), personal pizzas (very good) and some other beers.

Bought two drinks for $10, went back to the bar and the same drinks were $12 10 minutes later.
If the pub would like to explain, I'll change my review.

It's a good place for lunch. The food is good and the prices are good. $7 for a giant beer on Wednesdays. I've never gone except at lunch so can't comment on how the evenings are, except to say that I've always found live music to be too loud and sound bad.

Wasn't too impressed with the cocktails, but the food was good and there's a lot of variety.

band was so loud it gave everyone at the table a headache, there was lettuce in my fries. our second plate of fries was almost double the amount our first plate was. wouldn't go back again if a band was there. would've stayed longer tonight (thursday) if the music wasn't so loud. couldn't even have a conversation, that's ridiculous. complained to the waiter who apologized many times, we understood it's not her fault. she said the band playing refused to turn down their music, well your restaurant lost out on 50+$ because we left early.

Prices are unbeatable but service is poor and food is average.

The food here is great and also inexpensive. All food items on the menu are $5.95 which makes it very affordable for students to grab food and a drink at this pub. Despite the price the food is good quality standard pub fare in well sized portions.

Even the bartender are drunk here. my first Budweiser cost $5, next one was $7

Beer selection is great. Food is cheap.. but nothing great.

Stopped in for dinner, took us 30 minutes to get a drink. Beer was flat, waited another 15 minutes for slightly less flat beer. We ordered a starter of deep fried pickles, they never came but we were charged for it....nicely done. No cutlery/napkins were provided at the table, I just grabbed some from the stand I stesd of waiting for 15 mins to get some. The beer arrived after our food came out, approx 45 mins from when we arrived. Needless to say, we wont be returning. Considering the reviews, I was extremely disappointed. The food was mediocre considering the cost, the beer was garbage and the service was even worse. If you're looking to get drunk, go here. If you're looking anything else, avoid this place. We didn't want to wait after we had paid our bill to dispute the overcharge because for $6 it wasn't worth our time to wait around. The only time we received any acknowledgement of the wait time was when we were paying our bill....pathetic.

It's ok. Nice staff but beer is over priced considering only 16oz glasses. Ethel 's just down the street much better deals for your dollar.

Staff are great and friendly, food is good quality for a really good price, and they have a pub trivia league on Wednesdays that is a lot of fun!

$5.95 for all food items is great value. Portions are not skimpy and I have tried several items from the menu, all of which were enjoyable. Service can be a little slow some times, but the food and value do not disappoint!

My go-to place for drinks and cheap food with friends. Nothing on the menu has blown me away, but for these prices you can't really ask for too much. Service is always fantastic. Definitely a place worth visiting.

A very crowded pub during night times, but pretty empty during the happy hour which is a good thing if you want to go with friends and coworkers.

Terrible service I get it's a university place probably later at night when the kids are back. how do they do it when full. Ridiculous nobody here at 8 pm on a Friday and can't get a pint !! Had to ask 3 times and server seemed put out to serve it. Atrocious!! Oh great I can edit this? Perfect I have been waiting for another pint now for half an hour nobody has even looked at me the bar is completely empty yet 2 young guys that are the servers friends have had free beer and burgers. The hilltop that was full when I came is still full of dirty dishes. I don't know how to post pics but would love too I have them.

Beth is an awesome server. Logan and Devin are the coolest bartenders and you gotta love Sammy of course, killing it behind the bar. Great place with good vibes. Would recommend!

waited for server for over 30 minutes. Finally went up to order from another server. Server told me I couldn't order and had to wait for our own server. Even though, she completely disappeared. Won't come back, because I wasn't able to even order more drinks.

I'm a little too old for the night crowd. I would say if you're between the ages of 19 - 24 this is the place for you for a night out either Friday or Thursday. Make sure you get there early with your friends maybe grab a small bite to eat before the crowd starts growing and the beers start flowing! As a working adult and many years out of college, I do enjoy coming here during the day time for lunch with friends. The menu has a good selection of proper pub grub that is affordable, especially for all the students balling on a budget!

Good place for cheap drinks , and cheap food. Their menu is very small after 6pm. The food is very basic. They seem to be under staffed in the server department. I had to chase her down for my bill and cancel my third drink as it took to long. Good prices all around with moderate service.

Food is cheap but pretty lackluster. This place is fine during the day but pretty bad at night, it's trying to be a bar and a club at the same time. The music is too loud to talk and the dance floor is too small to dance

Came in from out of town, during a trivia night, and bar service was slow as they were all tending to relatively full tables. Friendly, basic food staples, and reasonably priced.

My girlfriend and I got here just before 5pm and only 1 table was seated. There were 2 male waiters working. One was Nate who, was always on his phone texting, even while taking orders at tables. The other was Nallan. My girlfriend ordered a tequila sunrise and it came without a straw. I asked for a straw and we waited over 20 minutes before asking Nate for one. He came by a while later and tossed the straw on the table with out evening stopping. We ordered 2 apps that took 40 mins to come out. We ordered 2 more when we got them and we waited over an hour to get those apps. In 2 hours of being seated we got 2 apps 2 drinks and a straw. Tables have come and gone in the time we have waited for deep fried pickles and taccos to come out. When the pickles came they were soggy and cold. Nallan kept asking if we got our food... I would hope he knew what food we did or didn't get....

I heard the best things about Pub on King, so we decided to check it out. We had Sabrina for our server and she was awesome! Super friendly and professional. She is very knowledgeable about the food and drink menu. She highly recommended the Pan Seared Salmon $5.95 and it was AMAZING! What an awesome deal. The place was clean and had ample parking. We will definitely be back!

I'm not used to eating alone at a restaurant but I felt very comfortable at this large pub style restaurant. The nice girl who served me was kind with me and my small talk. The fish and chips I ordered were excellent and very inexpensive, every on the menu was 5.95 and there was lots to chose from. I strongly recommend that you try The Pub On King.

The wings, sweet potatoe fries, gluten free pizza, wine and beer specials were great, especially for $5.95 for the food items. All day, everyday. The ambiance was also very nice.

Looked like a British pub and the Guinness was good, but being lunchtime it was really a restaurant. The food was OK, cheap for sure, and the clientelle was almost all students. I had a bit of a problem with the female wait staff wearing very short, green kilts for a uniform; I'd have thought in the twenty-first century we'd be past that sort of thing. Still, it's a good place to go in downtown Waterloo if beer and cheap food are what you're after.

Menu is affordable, if you don't buy drinks and it is very loud. Definitely good for the younger crowd.

Wings are a bit dry, poutine was pretty good, and large portion. Service is slow. But really can't complain about the price. The place basically turns into a club at night though FYI. Kitchen closes earlier than the bar.

It s really hard to complain about this place. It s cheap menu stands out in uptown and the quality of food doesn t suffer for it. You re not going to get the type of food or beers as beertown, Abe erb, Famosa, etc. But for what it is, the service, food and cleanliness is always on par. Also a pound of wings for $2 on Sundays? Pub on king is a gem when you are on a budget or looking for a chill night.

This Pub is designed for University students and if your in 40s the staff looks at you funny when you order something to eat. Why only make a Pub or a restaurant to eat for University students and for all people of all ages?????

Trivia Wednesday is fun! Keeps me coming back. Good prices, too. Only complaint is that every week by 9:30 or 10 they let some idiots smoke immediately outside the door, and hold the door open long enough that it's as strong as if someone is smoking at the table beside me.

Dead bar, nothing happening on Sunday. They actually kick you out earlier than the bar closes just so they can go out ot a bar and drink. Professionalism and no customer service.
