My opinion is: This hospital is awful. Their staff is completely rude & unprofessional. They are currently holding my son in mental health ward & refuse to acknowledge our POA to be his legal advocate. He was brought there involuntarily, now they say he is voluntary (after medication). They have now brought lawyers into the mix making us pay thousands of dollars to advocate for our son. This is apparently how hospitals get away from listening to POA holders. They want to do things themselves.
Save your money & heartache. Go somewhere who cares about eveyone involved in the process.
Horrible hospital, my grandma was in this hospital for stroke rehab, the first night they just tried to make her walk on her own to the bathroom, and she ended up spraining her ankle, they wouldn't even give her ice or a hot pack to bring down the swelling, they said it needed to be prescribed, the hospital she transferred from was helping, this hospital has made her problems worse, they refused to bring up the side bars even though she's a high fall risk, and said its restraining a pt. Staff was super rude and doesnt seem very helpful, never ever going to this hospital again.
Brought 86 year mother in ER. She was treated with dignity. Staff nurse doctor professional . So grateful to God for everyone here. ER was prompt and receptive and pleasant. My experience in this time the ER and then Inpatient was great, I feel the staff was very attentive and compassionate.
Just ridiculous. Keep getting told there are no rooms. Basically zero updates with the exception of 'there are no rooms'. Have had EKG, blood test but no results or even a clue about what is going on. Have little kids that I need to get help watching if my wife is admitted but no body will give you an update......except 'They have no rooms'.
The valet parking is the only reason I have the one star.
Waiting for hours even though my doctor felt it was urgent to come here, she even called ahead of time still be waiting for 4 hours. This is ridiculous, I pay for insurance yet it seems like ppl on government insurance get served first.
This place doesn't even deserve 1 star! They are so slow!! After spending an hour or so in triage, they stick my mother in a small room filled with people that are coughing all over while waiting for a room in the ER (She just had a major surgery 2 days ago and cannot risk an infection or to get sick. Don't get me wrong, I know its a hospital, But common sense ppl). Then we spend 5 hours or so in the ER!! They admit her and give her a room that we waited another 2 hours for! Once we arrived on her floor, They knew NOTHING of her condition! She is deaf but can hear if her implants are in (they had no idea), Its been almost 2 hours without her meds (Which they say they know nothing about, but these same meds were given in the ER & ER said they put it all in the computer). The room had no water for her, nor was she brought any water!! Oh and did I mention her meds are still NOT here?? SMH people, Get it together St. Joe's!!! This place sucks!!
My home was invaded at 4 am and I was assualted and beaten. I was transferred to st joes via ambulance. I was crying and shaken up. The nurse went to close the door and I asked her not to because I was scared and she said I was disrupting their patients. I said do you know what just happened to me? I just got beaten and attacked. She said you can cry by yourself and proceeded to attempt to shut the door. I got up and asked for my belongings and went to silver cross. How can a nurse be so cruel and have no compassion like this to someone who was just traumitized and victimized? Why is she even a nurse? Then they tried to have not 1 but 3 security guards surround me after I was just assaulted and attacked because I stood up for myself to this abusive nurse! I will never recommend this hospital to anyone.
I would of never thought me going to the emergency room was going to be so difficult for a nurse. I went to the hospital last night because i had a fever of 104 and I couldn t keep anything down. I was there monday for the same symptoms and more. When we first walked in we walked up to the lady at the desk she took my ID and insurance card she didn t say much but she was friendly. We sat down for a couple minutes and then i was called to get my vitals checked. The nurse MOLLY was EXTREMELY IGNORANT! everytime she asked me a question she rolled her eyes and whispered something to the other nurse like honey you dont think i cant hear you? Once i got into a room my nurse came in her name was Stephanie. She was AMAZING! I dont have enough room on this page to tell you how great she was. Even tho i was in alot of pain she made me smile and laugh. She checked on me multiple times and asked me if i needed anytjing. She seemed like she really cared. She answered every single one of my questions she was just absolutely amazing. I know if i ever have to go back she will be the nurse i will be looking for. But to MOLLY honey if you dont like your job and u cant treat people with some respect then you need to find a new career. People go into the hospital because they are sick and need help they dont need attitude and sass because you dont like your job. & yes I complained to multiple people about this molly.
Seriously worse staff.. careless unorganized and extremely slow.
I came in via Ambulance following a car accident and was not treated with propee care. They cared more about entering insurance and collecting urine than to examine for underlying traumas to bones and ear.
So I'm am here yet again with my sister who needs to see a doctor it is 12am and we hand been here since 530pm and she hasn't even seen the doctor , oh did I add the hospital is completly empty/ nobody here. On top of that my sister has sit here and listen to the conversations between nurses and them speaking about the doctor being confused about some Things so she is scared and nervous. Like I just don't understand what the problem. Oh just end a family just walking with their daughter who just OD and the nurse is treating this family horrible and then she calls security and the same security officer that was here with my visit came out and awful. I'm literally standing here watching this. I hate that this is the nearest hospital for my family. Take my advice and try to go somewhere else
Went to the ER yesterday at 5, was never given a room, never given the pain medicine that was ordered, never saw a doctor, had to get my test results from the front desk. Had to sit in the waiting room until 9 pm, that s when I went to the front desk to sign out. Offered my pain medication but I refused since I was leaving and driving my self home. I will never go back to this hospital, the ultrasound tech was rude and very rough knowing I was in horrible pain.
Worst hospital ever been to! They're always running behind! My moms surgery was supposed to start at 11:30 and they took her to holding at 12! We've already been here since before 10! A simple procedure and we waited three hours just to take her into the operating room! These doctors need to stop over booking themselves and giving the quality care these patients deserve!
Awesome staff with the best doctors. This hospital has saved my life twice. Thank the lord for this place .
Worst ever I'm a caregiver here we my client n I have to tell them all the time to change the patient n change her dressing the nurses r lazy not doing they job my client has cuts n wounds on her private parts n they nit doing anything about not when I complaint to the doctor that my client is in pain now nobody is taking care of her he got me fired the doctors name is Dr Gandhi not he's nothing of professional network the staff on floor 4 unprofessional also need he knew the patient was sick he sent her home n she cough pneumonia n next day I had to call 911 n now she keeps getting it back cuz he didn't catch it on time so cuz I care for my client n complaint to him he's getting rid off me so he can screw up even more u guys don't have a good feed back cuz u let u r staff run loose how they feel like it
I noticed the comments about rude ER personnel and just want to say God Bless them all in this hospital. I dont really care how they treat me, I just know they are experts with the folks that are in pain and sick and require their immediate attention. I cannot thank them enough for doing what they do. God Bless you all and keep on doing what you do best!!!
I've been at St. Joseph Medical Center several times. I'm always very impressed with the level/quality of care. Everybody I come into contact with seems highly qualified, 'up to speed' on the requirements of their job, and anxious to 'get it right'. Everyone is busy, of course, but still seem willing to take the few extra minutes it takes to help, to explain, or do whatever it takes to make things better. It's a 'high pressure' environment: nobody wants to make a mistake. All these folks have family members who get sick, too; they have all the same problems we all do. Anyway, I think they do a Hell of a good job.
Every time I ve needed to be taken to an emergency room, I dread hearing that I m being taken to St. Joe s. I have yet to have one good experience with their staff. All of my nurses and doctors have been rude, overly righteous and inconsiderate to my needs. If you can go to any other hospital, I recommend you do it.
This place is a nightmare, nurse calls me to come in to sign paternity paper admitting I'm the father of my daughter born there found out later that she lied and we're adoption papers and she was adopted out too late to sue the hell back in them just my luck so I missed out on Justice and a of course the most important thing in life.
2 hours in ER waiting room just to get triaged. Staff standing around, looking confused, unprofessional and disorganized.
Update:. 8 hours in ER before getting a room. Told room was available, just needed cleaning, 3 hours later, finally got a room. No staff checking in, never saw a Dr. We were told food was ordered, but wasn't, so got a box lunch. Once in room, discovered ER reported a med given, which never was. The "care" we received in ER was unprofessional and not safe.
I must give kudos to RN Barbara on the 8th floor observation unit. She provided prompt and professional care. Thank you, Barbara. I was able to rest knowing my Dad was being well cared for.
I am absolutely disgusted with the treatment I received at this emergency room. I have a history of Pulmonary Embolisms (blood clot in the lung) due to a blood mutation. I also have fluid built up around my heart due to peripartum cardiomyopathy (heart failure in pregnancy) that was left over from my last pregnancy. With all this said I am as well on blood thinners. So my child kicked me very hard in my chest that caused me severe chest pain. I was told by my doctors to come in to this emergency room because with all my medical history I could have an internal bleed from the most minor injury. It s embarrassing enough to have to come in for something so silly but I had to be sure nothing else was going on. While in the triage area which has about 11 rooms, I was in room 5 behind the curtain. There were two nurses discussing me RIGHT OUTSIDE my room. This was the conversation:
Nurse 1: room 5 is here for chest pain from a kick to the chest
Nurse 2: WHAT?! What was she kicked by a horse?!
Nurse 1: no it was by her young son
Nurse 2: oh my god are you kidding me?! Wasting more resources
I was absolutely disgusted by what I heard! I did not choose to have the health issues I do and it was so embarrassing and hurtful to hear people who I am SUPPOSED TO TRUST, MOCKING ME without even KNOWING what the history was. I understand nurses have a difficult job, and they work hard to make us feel comfortable and safe however, these nurses did the complete opposite! This hospital needs some SERIOUS sensitivity training and ASAP! Having your staff talking insults about PATIENTS where EVERYONE can hear is highly inappropriate. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone.
Stay away! Worst hospital ever. Considerably worse since Amita took ownership.
Horrible place for a patient, errors, mistakes , miscommunication , lots of unnecessary testing to the patients including for blood samples . I had such a bad experience there with my mom , I talk as a medical professional who knows what speaking when talks. I had to take my mom out for other hospital , where I had such an opposite experience, much better . This Presence St Joseph in Joliet ..it is such a bad news , good luck to you .
Up until the nurse strike i had very little complaints, if any. but now...It took a temp nurse 1 hr to get my father water and he is constantly loosing oxygen and it takes me calling the hospital for a nurse to go see him.
I hate Silver Cross. I have gone to their ER and gave birth there. A bunch of monkeys with medical degrees that have sticks up their back ends.
I came to Saint Joes with my 3 year old in an emergency and they were so incredibly friendly, acted quickly, and didn't want to do anything unnecessary. Dr. Jallwa Odeh was wonderful. My son was happy and smiling at the end. We were out in 2 hours. I am seriously impressed. I've never had such a pleasant ER visit in my life. I will definitely be coming here again. If you come to an ER without a real emergency, of course the wait will be insane. They're taking care of people like my son that actually have an emergency situation.
I was in so much pain that i went to the emergency room. The service was terrible and the nurses were careless.
Was seen here previously and while no one wants to be at a Hospital cause they are sick I will say the staff were courteous and I was seen relatively fast given I have quite a serious medical issue, Staff was able to comprehend when I conveyed what it was that was bothering me and address that by means of medical test. I'm happy with how I was seen today. Quality medical care.
I recently canceled my planned knee surgery here in favor of Silver Cross. Since Amita took over, this has been a terrible place to go. The food is terrible with no possibility of any selection, they can't seem to process an insurance preapproval at all. I had my required imaging for my surgery canceled twice because they couldn't figure out how to do it , whereas Future Diagnostics managed it in a few hours. Pain control in the ER is a joke as well, as recent experience has shown. Stay away from here!!!
I went to St. Joe's as an emergency. After surgery I spent 3 days and 2 nights in the hospital. The staff from start to finish was quick and professional. The nurses and assistants were especially skillful and kind. I am so glad we have such a first-class hospital here in Joliet. My only complaint is the hospital food was awful.
St Joseph hospital joliet, is the worst hospital ever.... I had to come in for blood work because my job sent me here after getting my biometric screening my sugar was very high and that was very unusual for me.... I came to the back right away they took my blood and I literally waited 8hr + for my results saying they were waiting for a bed in the ER room....and the Dr will read my results.... 8 hours is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long to get results, and the nurse informed me they had them at about 3 hrs of me waiting and seriously i still waiting 5+ hoit's to give me my results..... Ridiculous and Unexceptable.... This has really pissed me off and can't believe how unfriendly the staff is at this hospital no kind of bed side manner.... I'm going to tell anyone I know not to come here cause you will DIE waiting for anything here.... Your hospital is the WORST HOSPITAL I have ever been too!!!!
I needed to get my tonsils removed and get the abscess growing in my tonsils drained. They tested me for covid-recieved a false postive- and it went down hill. I asked and asked for a retest which was denied each time. Went elsewhere and low amd behold. Not positive. And that day, I waited for 9 hours to at least get the abscess taken care of because they refused to take out my tonsils because they wouldn't do a retest. I was told in the or to come back in 10 days or to walk out I should have walked out because I have a thing back home in indiana in 10 days. That, and I will not go back and wait another 9 hours to not get it done again. I have needed my tonsils out since I was 10 and this was not the first time I had an abscess in the throat. I almost died the last time I had this and they didn't seem to care when I was waiting 9 hours for something. I will never return because that is so unprofessional, especially when I was told to walk out. I also found it extremely unprofessional that I do not have a POA but they doctors still called my fiance, not my husband or my father my fiance, to keep him updated while simultaneously going 5 hours without informing me, the patient, of what was going on. Nice work St Joseph staff.
These people who work at St. Joe's for the most part are heroes ! I dont get why the low ratings are here ? I am not a fan of being sick nor am I a fan of going to the ER (unfortunately my health is not the best at this time and I just wish I could get better). I had an ER visit recently and unfortunately.....not fun at all. My nurse, doctor and team were considerate they wanted to help me and the nurse was nice to me. Give the people who work at St. Joseph's medical center the 5 stars that they deserve they are in health care for us ! They work hard ! I do believe a lot them care when you go in sick and injured ! Be nice and be appreciative to them too !!! (I wish I never had to go to the ER, and perhaps one day that can be my reality) but ! They get my 5 Stars I know they are caring people.
Filthy Emergency Room, poor and unskilled staff with extremely poor professional manners. It was appalling in my opinion. Glad we walked out!
Mechanical issues and lack of controls of personal equipment
Rude, ignorant, and they do not know how to do their jobs. If you are on your death bed they might bat an eyelash. If not, prepare to sit and listen to these foolish ass Triage staff babble about bullshit and make clerical errors while you wait and wonder if it was even worth a trip to the hospital
Waited 6 hours in the ER to see a Dr. on a Wednesday night. By around 3am, I was the only one there because everybody had left. The waiting area is yucky and there's literally NO PATIENT privacy. There were people standing all around me while I spoke with the nurse about my issues. Will never ever ever go to this hospital again!
Had same day surgery from my Dr thru every nurse was treated with the utmost kindness and compassion.. Had a wonderful experience
My overall experience:
I asked for a simple water cup after my grandpa as he was admitted to the emergency room. I was rudely questioned about doing this simple action. We waited for a bed to be prepared for at least an hour and a half. As we walked into the room, there was a very harsh scent due to the garbage which was not emptied even after we asked multiple times. The overall service was very weak and the staff was not the most positive or helpful. Overall, do not recommend this hospital and their service to anyone.
I was there in May of 2020 for three days
This hospital is under staffed. The nurses and other supporting staff cannot keep up with the volume of patients. I spent 9 hours in Er waiting room before getting to a room in the ER. I will never go to this hospital again. After getting a room the room was filthy.
I cut my finger real bad, this one radiologic tech named Casey was awesome, she did my xrays and cared for me so good, 10/10 will cut finger again to visit lovely Casey
Thought I was in Juarez Mexico. The check-in staff was great. The nurse that seen me was great. The waiting room in the ER was very crowded. Must have been short on doctors or rooms. I waited for almost five and a half hours in excruciating pain. They saw patients that had cold or the flu in front of me. Was there for an hour and a half and they drew blood and waited for a doctor. Couldn't wait anymore after 5 and 1/2 hours. Then I went to a real Hospital. Anita Bolingbrook took care of me within an hour and a half. I Know Places can get busy but this places is a JOKE
Horrible. The stay the er. I went here for a car accident n stayed for a while n couldn't walk n they never came when I had to pee or bathe. The er is slow it gets 0 stars
My brother in law is there and developed bedsores, nurses don't respond to call light and if the do they are rude.. complaints are pointless because they don't care.
I should have read the reviews and avoided this place. I was in pain and I am still in pain due to my foot injury.
Everyone was friendly; however, it did seem as if they were not very organized. They did not know where the patient with foot pain was located. I could hear them asking each other and walking around. Turns out there were two of us. I raised my voice and informed them that the person with foot pain was right here. Then they take the other person first. Lol Okay... This occurred in the actual emergency room treatment area. Fast forward, my discharge instructions were (in summary) do not wear adidas or Nike sandals while using the crutches and I m going to treat it as a fracture and we re putting your foot in a cast. Um... I do not own adidas or Nike sandals. Not sure where that came from. The person doing the cast thought she had to push and squeeze on my injury while putting the cast on. Um.... no. Terrible medical treatment. I will never return if I can help it.
There is a time when you get professional and unprofessional ppl. I came in today and they only took my vitals. They didn't give me a warming blanket, i asked the nurse to slide table over with my thungs on it & she only gave me my belongings when i politely asked for the table as well. Also i feel like they are quick to diagnose you with something just to get you discharged. Which leaves you confused & worried of something bad is gonna happen which will cause you to come back for the same thing they left unresolved
Quick in and out. Staff really know their job and are very professional.
The staff is very rude. If you have a choice to go somewhere else, don t hesitate. This place is a joke.
Not sure which is worse the wait time or the horrible staff. I will never come here again it is by far the worst hospital. Save yourself the frustration and just go to Edwards
I ve received wonderful care at st Joseph s hospital here in Joliet!
This place has the most rude and insensitive nurses/staff that I have ever seen in my life!!! My sister is in ICU and getting questions answered or anything is like having teeth pulled. They are Sooo inconsiderate!!! I've never met staff this horrible in my life. My only comfort is knowing my sister will be going home with God soon and we can get out the worst hospital in Illinois!!!! Please don't take your loved ones here!!!
I never been sick before until of recent. I went to the E.R. Because I couldn t sleep because of chest pain and stomach pain. They ran some test and doctor just prescribed ambien and told me I was fine. They didn t even attempt to get down to the bottom of the problem. Today I got a bill for $5,600.
We've been here numerous times over the past few years. The people were pleasant, and we got what we needed quickly, and with little down time. Further, the food was quite good. (Seriously!)
Worst hospital ever . The staff is rude and the emergency room is a joke . This place sucks . I wouldnt go here unless it was the last place available.
My sister is in intensive care and they were wonderful and on the fourth floor on the other side the nurses explained everything and the doctors took care of her so well
I would not even give this place a star. Worst ER staff. My wife recently was in the ER having a heart attack and did not get treated for 6 hours.
Brought 92 year mother in at 8pm by ambulance. She was treated with dignity. Night staff nurse so compassionate. Phlebotomist were all pleasant especially 5am talking about getting her first CUP later this morning. So grateful to God for everyone here. ER was prompt and receptive and pleasant. Grateful!!
Horrible service. Will go to silver cross from now on. After waiting the dr did not even examine me. Told me there was. Othing they could do. I was admitted for 5 days a few days later by my dr because they did not even examine me. They did not wven take my blood pressure. What kind of ER does not examine there patients.
This hospital has horrible emergency service. Each time we have came to this hospital we have waited several hours. They are very unorganized, unprofessional, and uncaring. I would never recomend this location to anyone!
This is the worst place ever!!!! 4 1/2 hours for them to tell me my daughter she has a UTI. Their excuse was it was the day after a holiday, then they should put more people on the schedule. On top of the wait time the staff was rude!!!! We More
They helped my uncle get back on his feet after a bad fall. The surgeon was great in fixing the broken bone and then the social worker was so nice and she got him transferred to Villa Franciscan next door for rehab!
Absolutely terrible! ER and lab nurses were all very nice, but after several hours in the waiting room, not a single patient was taken to see a doctor. I don't even think there was a doctor on duty in the ER during my visit. I felt so bad for the other people there who were clearly in worse shape than myself. I actually left the ER without seeing a doctor which is completely unacceptable. As a place that is supposed to help people, this hospital completely fails on every level. I'm never going back to this place, ever, and I highly recommend you do the same. Silver cross or Morris will get my dollars from now on.
I ve been here a good month or so and while the nurses I ve had have been nice and understanding there are somethings I can t get with, like this new no outside food policy well I don t know what to do because l seriously can not eat the food on from the cafeteria. I don t know who to talk to to resolve the issue but I m not gonna last long string cheese and ensure.
Waiting room for 2.5 hrs, 1.5 hrs in triage without a single act of treatment, consultation, pushed the nurse button and someone turned it off remotely without addressing us, 4 hours of pain without any type of aid...never coming back.
If you can go anywhere else go there. Unprofessional Dr's. Very long waiting times always! You never seem to know what's going on until right before you walk out the door.
I work at a nearby hotel and one of our guests was brought there by ambulance. He was treated and released, but had nothing with him (no phone, money or shoes) he asked if they could call a cab for him or anything and they said they were not responsible for transportation. Instead they printed him a map (hotel is about a mile from the hospital) and told him to walk. He told them he had no shoes and the nurse gave him a pair of those hospital socks and sent him on his way. It was raining and cold and this man did not know his way around the area. He got turned around and was trying to get drivers passing by to help him. Finally an off duty Lyft driver picked him up and brought him back to the hotel. This is not the best area and it was night time. Shame on you St. Joe's! All you had to do was call the hotel and we would have come to get him. Despicable...
I consider them very much improved since 2015. Need emergency care on the 20th of January on a saturday afternoon and to tell you the truth they have significantly improved. I will indeed stick with Presence St. Joseph Medical Center now. I am publicly done with Silver Cross.
Waited 7 hours before taking to a bed in the ER then another 2 just to see the Dr for 5 minutes would not recommend going here ever again. I had to call and talk to E R management before we even got in to bed in Emergency Room seriously disappointed
My husband s procedure was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. last Friday. He was finally taken in at 2 p.m. No reason was given when we asked what the problem was.
The doctor came out after and said he had new heart blockages but didn t say where or how to proceed next. My husband was released 5 hours later and we still hadn t talked to the doctor.
We are back this morning for a scheduled heart ablation that we were told he needed to be here at 6:30 for and now it s 8:30, two hours late and no one knows why or when my poor dehydrated and hungry husband will be cared for.
The communication skills at St. Joe s truly sucks! If we need further care after this we ll use a different hospital and Medical group.
DO NOT GO THERE. They are rude, and uncaring. Waited almost 3 hours in ER to be admitted. I will never, never go there. I will drive by, on my way to Silver Cross.
The care I received at this hospital was excellent. The aides were kind and helpful. I wish I could have seen the doctor more but other than that i am pleased. I think you get what you give sometimes.
You wait wait and wait just to wait some more this place is a joke i recommend anyone to go to Silver Cross then here
I had stayed over night and my experience was terrible. My first two nurses and CNAs were fantastic and made me feel comfortable and taken care of. My last nurse on the other hand, was very dismissive of my symptoms and rude. She had no people skills and seemed displeased that I was there. She would constantly say that I looked fine and that she d seen more sick people than I. (I was admitted by my PCP not through the ER) As I was getting ready to get discharged, I asked what my diagnostic was and she then told me what it was. But then proceeded to call me crabby like her husband and walked out of the room. I might of been a little agitated at the time only for the sole reason of me constantly asking about my results and being constantly ignored. Figured she d have an answer while I was signing my discharge papers. That s just one of the few things that made me uncomfortable.
I m not one to complain. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt but even my family noticed this particular nurses behavior towards me.
My grandma was in Morris hospital first, then a rehab place then had to go back to the hospital. Thank god it was st Joe's! The staff & doctors are amazing. The rooms are great! I am finally happy she got the care she needed & she's doing better!
Nurses re very mean and hostile to patients and visitor
I was a inpatient at this hospital after having a fusion on my back the nurses assistants were lazy it took them over an hr to help me to the bathroom. The nurses were very very ignorant to me and my family. This place will be a last resort for me!!!!
In the ER waiting room for 4 hours. A person across from me has been bleeding and still has not been seen after 2 hours. Hope he doesn't bleed to death.
My brother is getting top notch care in the Covid unit. Special Blessings to the entire staff on the 8th floor.
Everyone has their opinion but for me they are very nice doctors nd nurses the wait was not long for them to triage me and put me in a room and also the doctors were very nice helpful nd showed they cared. Thank you to all the nurses and doctor for being so kind and so fast.
If there was a zero star that is what I would give the ER department. Still here after 6 hours, still waiting to get a ct scan after two trips to get the same ultrasound and our third time in the "pre ER" room, waiting for the real ER room. I can't believe this!!! Every person here has been taken in and gotten tests then we all get put back to the original waiting room! One lady just left after 5 hours! This is the second time I wait in ER at St Joseph's for more than 6 hours, maybe this is just your normal waiting time? I could have driven to Chicago, gotten better service and been back home by now! You really need to work on this!! Complaining to staff at any level here doesn't work either!
in e.r after auto accident from 6:30pm until 2 am. only 2drs on shift. staff were professional but obviously harried due to understaffing. will go to ANY Other URGENT CARE CENTER simply to save myself time in future.
St. Joseph stands alone as the most poorly run medical center I have ever witnessed first hand. Nice building, nice people, ZERO working patient records systems, ZERO communication between staff, patient and family, ZERO sense of urgency. If my siblings and I were not in the room with our mother the entire time, she may not have made it. More than once they missed routine procedures for a heart patient, putting her in crisis on the third day of her stay. 30-40 minutes for assistance with the bathroom was STANDARD. We landed here through a 911 call, not of our own choosing. After 5 lost days trying to stabilize the patient, we were finally able to transfer our mother to EDWARD HOSPITAL in Naperville. A well-run, professional facility.
Rude staff. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone, they re very disorganized and unprofessional.
Presence Saint Joseph has always been there for me in my time of need. I like the staff at this facility.
The only good thing i can say is that they did help get closet to me getting cured.
I went in the ER for nausea pains etc. Very bad pains. And it took way to long to get a room. And i got moved 3 or 4 times. One of them back into a waiting room. A couple of doctors and nurses were ok but otheres werent so good. One of them gave a lot of aditude even.
My main issue is that i waited many hours to finally get a room. That should NOT happen in an emergency room. I was in so much pain and had to stay in pain. (I shouldnt be able to fall asleep in the waiting room..which i did)
This place was wonderful. People here were very helpful, and nice .The imagining Service Dept. Was quick. Very Well Managed.
I would have to say the only way you can get help you need to be taken in by a ambulance, that s your only chance, because I went into the ER with massive pain in my shoulder blade and the girl took my pulse and she did it wrong because my arm was turning purple. So they took ex rays and told me to sit in the waiting room and wait. As I m waiting in pain and burning up with a fever and vomiting they didn t do anything for me. One of the staff members was so busy with her Facebook page and the others were just sitting there laughing and having a great time. So bottom line they don t care at all but at the end of it all they want there money or else. So I couldn t take it and left. So if your reading this hospital person don t bother responding because you say the same thing to all your complaints word from word. And don t bother sending a bill because you did no services for me at all, would you go to a restaurant and order and never get food and you still have to pay?? Think about it and think about the people that need medical help and your staff treats them like there no one. Thank you for your no service treatment!!!
My brother had 2 seizures while in their care and they had the nerve to say it's because his wisdom tooth was growing in and he wasn't use to the pain kept him for 2 weeks in antibiotics then said he can't stay it's just wisdom tooth pain.no brain scans just blood tests a specialist was on vacation so we had to wait another week..he was down syndrome strong as a pillar. His 3rd seizure We took his to Edward's hospital in an hour they told use he had 3 lesions in his brain rushed his to Edward's in Naperville performed surgery. He died. They said it was to late if it was dectected sooner he could have lived.
Horrible ! Understaffed. Not good with making patients feel comfortable. Long waiting time to see the doctor at the emergency . BROUGHT IN MY DAD WITH BROKEN RIB FORM LYMPHOMA CANCER . AND STILL HAD TO WAIT OVER AND HOUR FOR THE DOCTOR TO SEE HIM. WHEN WE NEEDED SOME IMMEDIATE PAIN RELIEF. DON'T COME HERE. ! EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT ON PLAINFIELD IS ALOT BETTER.
