I stayed at Prestonfield House on a Valentines Day dinner, bed and breakfast deal. It was a perfect romantic stay, from the moment we were greeted as we left our taxi at the front doors by a kilted concierge through to the receptionist who made it super easy for us to enjoy a late checkout.

Dinner at Rhubarb was definitely the highlight; three courses of exquisite food that surprised and delighted us at each turn. The little extras (mini starter taster, petit fours with coffee) made it even more lovely - especially when we were encouraged to take our post-dinner coffee into the drawing room where a fire was lit and soft music was playing. Breakfast (in bed!) the next morning was similarly fantastic. I would definitely love to return at some point soon.

Had a great overnight stay for our first Wedding Anniversary. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were big, very clean and spacious. We had afternoon tea and dinner and breakfast while we were staying and couldn't fault any part of it. Recommended!!

Our favourite place to stop whilst visiting Edinburgh. Private dining is a must, the food is impeccable. But what really makes this place astounding is the staff. They're all very warm, welcoming, friendly and work very hard to make your stay perfect. I can't express how fabulous this place is!!!

We had afternoon tea beautiful surroundings and service

The surroundings were lovely here and the food was nice (afternoon tea) but a few issues lost a star here - there was a misunderstanding with the booking, not enough seats for the number of people in the group, slow service at times, and the tea wasn't very nice (over and under brewed). A shame really, given the staff were very friendly and the surroundings so nice.

Charming hotel in beautiful grounds with extremely helpful staff.

Prestonfield holds a special place in our heart but that rose tint has never been foiled by a visit. Absolutely excellent.

Fantastic show which was an education in the History of Scotland both in the songs and dance. The food was excellent and the wine flowed all evening..We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Beautiful place, kind service and delicous food in a very distinguished ambiente!

The ambience was stellar. Made me feel like a princely character from an old old movie. Expensive - yes, but not terribly expensive compared to other fine dining places. We enjoyed our food and wine, the staff was very polite.

The Rhubarb restaurant is a lovely experience every time. Somewhat pricey but worth every penny for special occasions.

I am luck y enough to have fabulous friends that treated me to afternoon Tea on Sat for my Birthday.

I dont think i have ever been in a hotel that is 5 star and felt so comfortable and special all at the same time. Afternoon Tea was delicious and the staff who served us were extremely polite and attentive. The Hotel is beautiful and the gardens are equally as nice. I was even in shock at how nice the bathrooms are! The best place i have been for afternoon tea and the nicest hotels.

I hope to be back very soon.

One of my favouite hotels in Edinburgh. It's not over the top like the Balmoral, it's just a cute small hotel. Staff are very friendly and professional. Love the full Scottish breakfast!

Prestonfield house is a beautiful opulent hotel but with a country house feel. The grounds are stunning and the service impeccable. Great as a wedding venue or for a special meal

I recently attended a sportsmen dinner at this Hotel and from the moment we arrived the service and attention to detail was first class.

Great party night. Venue, food, drink, entertainment, atmosphere all superb.

This was quite a remarkable dining experience. We loved the decor and various pieces of art that adorned the very high walls. The entree and deserts were the standouts, the main wasn't quite as inspired. A bit of a mix up with the bill but it was promptly fixed. All in all we had a lovely night

I was only attending an event! However I must say.. this is a great place.. I'm not sure if you'd call it a Castle or a Country House Hotel? But what ever it is.. it's one of my favourites.

1LET had a Celebration Dinner at Prestonfield House, we arranged it at short notice and could not have had a better experience. From first phone call, every email and the staff on the night the service was excellent. The food was delicious and the rooms felt luxurious and perfect for a private dining experience. We would thoroughly recommend this for a special occasion.

Great venue for over 300 people. Excellent food and good overall service. Bar was a bit pricey.

Anyone who has been allowed to sleep, eat and celebrate in this lovingly furnished house will repeat it again and again

Brought my mum here for high tea and she loved everything about the place! Excellent serves and enough treats to fill you up. Will definitely be going back for dinner.

Beautiful location, a wonderful classic ambiance and super friendly and helpful staff. The Prestonfield House is one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh and definitely worth a visit. Do not be shocked by the high prices, but for those who want to go for a totally chic evening this is an absolute must. You enjoy above average tasty dishes in the dining room, after which you can enjoy a delicious coffee or tea in the lounge on the 1st floor. An unforgettable experience although the food can be much better and you expect something more from this location. The rest was perfect!

Located just outside Edinburgh, plenty of parking. Food was ok.

I attended the Presotonfield for a works dinner. The venue was lovely and the pudding was great but the first two courses of the meal weren't quite up to expectations.
