Great for local upscale lunch. Community responsive in thier neighborhood.
They have a Tavern Menu which is like a bar menu with more affordable/ easy to share options.
time and money well spent. Good food, good ambience, friendly staff.
If you're not a local it's a good place to feel like a definite outsider
Food is great.
However, the service today was awful.
We were a party of 13 adults and two kids. Every adult had already finished their starters before anybody thought of bringing the kids food in- it finally arrived an hour and a half after we had ordered. We then waited another hour for our main dish, no one ever came around to ask if we needed drinks or to apologize for the delay.
The whole place was hot AF because the Air conditioner didn t work, kids getting slightly cranky at this point. For three hours no one stopped by to let us order drinks or to fill up our water glasses even though we specifically asked for more water several times.
In the end we spent three hours and a half at the place for a simple brunch that should have lasted no longer than 1.5 hours. Now, given that it was Easter and the place was pretty full (which it usually is on any given day), I understand that service might take a bit longer, but to be honest- there was not much service to it.
When our desserts finally arrived, after three hours in a roasting hot room, most of our empty plates and glasses had been standing there for nearly an hour.
So, honestly, the food is awesome! And on former occasions we really enjoyed the place, but today we left pretty disappointed and I for myself doubt I ll be back.
Have been here a few times and always sat at the bar. Not a huge draft selection but adequate. Pretty good menu and definitely good food. Warm ambiance. The most pleasant / funny bartenders I've seen in Boston.
Great food and service! Brunch menu had lots of fun things to try for people that like either breakfast food or more savory lunch food.
This restaurant is amazing! The decor is upscale but not cold--very home-y. The food is a bit on the pricey side, but it's also really good.I had the grilled flatbread Margarita, and it was the best grilled flatbread I've had in my entire life. The tomatoes were thinly sliced, juicy, and fresh. There were tiny bits of sea salt on the tomatoes that really brought the flavor out. And there was just enough pesto to accent the dish but not to overwhelm it.The banana cream pie is light but filling and just the right balance of sweet and bland. Also comes with brulee'd banana slices on the side.I definitely recommend this place and will go back!
Edit: Came here for brunch once, it was horrible. Bad service, mediocre food.
Edit 2: Came back again for dinner with friends. They had our table all set up in the back so we wouldn't disturb others, and they wouldn't disturb us. Service was top-notch (wait staff friendly and helpful, not oversolicitous). We were a party of more than 8, but they didn't mandate a gratuity (we still tipped well). The food was amazing! No one was disappointed by appetizer, entree, or dessert. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner.
Nice late night spot. Prices are on the high side, but you're paying for the location near Copley Square / Back Bay.
Had an amazing work dinner here. Beer and cocktail selection was superb, and the food was even better
Fun bar and great place for some drinks after work or on a date
Wow, the food is out of this world, love the service, and the decor.
This is an amazing restaurant! Not only is the food good, but the staff is friendly! I STRONGLY recommend anybody come eat here!
I have had the French dip sandwich, it's quite tasty. Had a chicken cobb sandwich that was a head of iceberg lettuce and almost no chicken. But it still tasted good
Bit pricey for the quality of the meals. All the food options are very heavy in butter and oil. There is limited healthy options, but the wine list was great.
Went for Mother s Day brunch. Waitress disappeared for long periods of time. Appetizers delivered at 1.5 hours from arrival, meal at 2 hours. Too much dressing on the salad. Entrees were worse than mediocre. Desserts were excellent. Poor last year too. Prior to that was great.
Fun happy hour spot with a nice bar and plenty of restaurant space. Good private space as well.
Good pork sandwich. This is a nice business lunch spot for a sit down. Place is decent for dinner too but wouldn't have high expectations. Good sized portions evens out mediocre service in my opinion.
Great place for brunch on a weekend. Not crowded at all. Great service.
Wow everything was spot on, I'm going to have to return very soon.
We held our wedding reception here. The staff were really responsive and courteous. They helped arranging everything well on time. It was a small group of 35 people. They were accommodating to different dietary options. The food tasted AMAZING. Everyone loved it. And the tiramisu cake was really good. I would definitely recommend Post for dinner and events too. Very professional. I'm well pleased with their service.
I am not one to really give negative reviews, but on this one where do I start. Arrived with 10 people. Took 20 min for someone to come up to us and offer drinks. Then due to business expenses, there was an attitude to split the checks up, which now a days its just expected a lot of the time. The waitress seemed like she was 80 years old and was super slow to move and the food was extremely slow to come out. The food was decent but the service was really bad. This place could be a hit or miss. For us it was definitely a miss
I love Post 390! Whether you're enjoying their excellent brunch, a casually elegant dinner, it enjoying a private event, this "Urban tavern" is classy, comfortable, and a real get in the heart of the city.
This large space can usually accommodate walk-ins. The menu is large and varied. The atmosphere is great both expansive and cozy at the same time, with gorgeous Urban views of the John Hancock tower. Great service too! I never get tired of Post 390.
Tried the Korean fried chicken. Fresh and tasty, not too spicy. Also had the cheese board and mixed green salad to share. Great meal. I'd recommend.
Pricey, but really good. French onion soup is outta control
I came here with a large group (10 ish people) and the service was very slow. I'll be forgiving since we were a large group but we hardly ever saw our waiter. Others in our group were very pleased with their meals but I was not. I had the pork shoulder which was presented well but more than 80% of it was fat. I couldn't eat most of what was on my plate. The flavor of the dish was good though. Great atmosphere and the place was clean. The menu looked very good.
Bartender ignored me. Came in told hostess I would sit at the bar, seated myself . The bartender glanced my way, but did not acknowledge me, to be fair his view would have been partially obstructed by a pole. 10 min after I arrived, a couple came in sat to my right, bartender knew the guy came right over spoke to them and took their order, looked past me to check on the couple on my left, and walked away. Bartender came back with the order for 1st couple, and then he took my order. If I was not waiting for someone I would not have stayed, this is why I left a 0.37 tip
Cozy, good food, and great service. I really like the grilled octopus here. Banana pie was to die for. Coffee and desserts are awesome! Their salads are fresh, fun... somehow you finish the whole salad kind of salad. Try to sit by the fire place!
Relaxing atmosphere and decent food. Friendly service too! Great for big groups.
Great place. Was quiet when we visited. Service was friendly and courteous and the breakfast on offer excellent with high quality raw materials
This is the first restaurant review I've written, because I've never before felt compelled to let people know how memorably bad a meal and restaurant experience could be. I'll describe our meal from the end to the beginning, because dessert was as bad as the beginning. We had 3 different desserts - all of them tasteless. Such a disappointment! It's hard to imagine how banana cream pie could be tasteless, but it was. The fish (halibut) was overcooked, dry, salty and tasteless. The pasta was incredibly salty. I've never sent a dish back before, but the amount of salt made the pasta inedible. The caesar salad was bland. To make matters worse, we were treated poorly when we first came in. Although I had called ahead to ask for menu accommodations for my son, and was told there would not be any problem because a broad menu would be available, when we arrived we were told we had to eat in the noisy downstairs tavern, rather than the nice, quiet dining room, because what he wanted was not on the prix fixe menu. I suppose I should have known that an expensive New Year's Eve prix fixe meal could be less than stellar, but this beginning of 2020 will be memorable because of the tasteless meal and the poor experience we had. To top it off, it was the most expensive meal we've ever had - and we eat out often at gourmet restaurants.
Unfriendly staff, underwhelming and overpriced food. $50 steak was dry and flavorles. Odd atmosphere. We won't go back.
food was great enviorment was amazing mostly seafood but the steak is great
Interesting menu and delicious food. The options seem limited, but the food was great. Great service as well.
Pastry basket and smoked salmon bagel were delicious.
Pretty good selection of spirits to choose from and my server was very lively. I will definitely be returning here for their seafood tower.
Food is always ready to comfort you. Chefs always produce an enticing meal.
Our dinner party was large (22) but frequent staff misteps made it a less than stellar evening. My whole fish was missing 1/4 of the fish (stuck on grill? Birth deformity?) food forgotten, food placed in front of the wrong person and then server disappeared, leaving us to play who s dinner is this anyway? Overall the food was good, service was off, food timing was around 80% served at the same time per course. Not once did someone ask how the food was. Disappointed but largely well cooked and presented, when it arrived, in whole pieces, if at a all.
My daughter has a food allergy and they were very attentive to her needs, but dropped the ball with the rest of my family's order. For example, the seafood tower was supposed to have a variety of oysters, but when we received it, the server did not know which ones were on the tower. Then our primary server showed up and told us it was all the same kind if oyster. I ordered some sides and never received them as well.
absolutely amazing food and service to match. I will definitely come here again next time I'm in town.
Great lunch eat with work friends. Their service is quick and food is great portions. Will have to try it out for dinner soon.
Very disappointing ... food was bland, decor was the best part.
I went there for an anniversary dinner and my fiance loved her dish but I was less than impressed by mine. This is definitely a business dinner, Monday to Thursday night type of place. I'd recommend walking the extra few blocks and go to a restaurant in the South End.
I went there for lunch last Thursday and enjoyed the three course for $25 special. I had the fontina salad for my appetizer, the salmon with brussel sprouts as my entree (AMAZING), and cookies for dessert! I also enjoyed a latte with my meal- it was the perfect addition to my meal and lovely view by the fire place. Would love to return!
A bit pricey but the drinks are good and so is the food.
nice looking place with a lot of windows and a nice looking bar area, we ate at the bar and service was very pleasant, drinks were good and a tad expensive, beet salad we split and was excellent, squash benedict (brunch) very good as was the special which was a prime rib omelet...been here a few times and always good and as i recall a great burger which i noted is now 20$??? but it was good!!
It's a good place to have seafood. However, I had a bad experience with their service. My waiter was serving a big party in the private room as well as my table. It took a long time to order and have my food served here. I wouldn't not go back. They have some great options of wine bottles. However, it's not worth the subpar level of service. I was offered some complimentary dessert for the poor service (from missing the side dishes orders and messing up the oysters) but I did not take it. I felt it was inappropriate to receive this item. I do appreciate it that they do have cab franc and their special was a whole sea bass.
Among the most pretentious menus you'll ever peruse, the descriptions turned out to be both verbose and inaccurate. The food was fair (prices were not) and the the service was poor. They stay busy largely due to location but if have a choice you can certainly do better than this.
The food was delicious, especially the creme Brule. Pricey (but it was a company dinner). We tried a variety of appetizers and it was just magnificent. The steak dinner wasn't as great as everything else, but it was still good.
We had a fantastic evening with a large group tonight at Post. A tailored menu with something to choose for every diet. Delicious Pinot noir and Riesling to drink. The team did an amazing job with their great service, they were quick and attentive, and very friendly.
The larger room upstairs with fireplace was perfect to have enough privacy for ourself without disturbing the other guests in the restaurant. But we still felt we attended the restaurant as regular guests.
*great food and wine
*great ambiance and seating
*great service by a dedicated team, friendly and with high quality
*group-friendly
I would go back, without a doubt! (y)
Great bar and restaurant. I went there to my first date with my wife 6 years ago.
Overpriced Mediocrity. Nothing was terrible, but nothing was worth it.
Popular place during lunchtime for the working people in the area. Food comes out pretty quickly and tastes good overall.
Great food, ambiance & menu selection. Service is good but inconsistant. Definitely worth coming to.
Came for Sunday Brunch. Good, interesting menu including a variety of Benedict choices, including a really good sausage and biscuit Benedict. Prices tend to be medium to high. Service is good, and very attentive. Nice atmosphere with two-floor seating.
Great fish, excellent Argentinean wine and the atmosphere is very sophisticated. Service could be better. I was in Boston some months ago for work and during that week I tried this place, it's not cheap but it worths.
Scallops were fantastic, our group all loved their dishes. Plan to return next time in Boston.
Cool place, excellent whiskey & charcuterie choices. Knowledgeable bartenders. Interesting interior space.
Good quality, interesting food. You can order from the tavern menu or the restaurant menu if you're at the bar, though the latter is pricey (and food isn't super hot by the time it arrives from upstairs). If you go during the afterwork chaos it's hard to get served at the far end of the bar. But it's a nice place and decent by Boston standards.
Everything about this restaurant was/is amazing. Love the owners dedication to the farm to table concept and his sourcing of local ingredients. The staff produce not just a dinner, but an experience never to be forgotten.
Nice place for lunch, particularly nice atmosphere in winter for dinner.
Nice stop in Back Bay. Good wine selection and fireplace make for a good place to stop on a cold day!
Our waitor was super fast and efficient! We ordered the spinach artichoke bacon flat bread and it was to die for. Seriously reccomend this pace.
Great for lunch. Upstairs seating with a view of the street. Not noisy. Flatbread sandwich was good. Quick service.
Great place for brunch, beautiful setting and delicious food.
Very good restaurant ... great service. There are rooms reserved for small meetings.
