Visited in October 2019. It was fun to be able to experience various Polynesian ethnicities such as fire, hula and fire dance. My husband was selected from the audience and beat the drums with the Japanese national team. After that, regardless of nationality, you will be able to visit other places in the park! It was a very good atmosphere.
My guide Kenichirou was very polite and fun. He also followed me when buying rings at the store. I am sorry that I had to say goodbye before the last show and I couldn't thank them. I don't know if it will arrive even if I write it here, but it was my first memory of this trip to Hawaii. Thank you!

Incredible stop for a Hawaii location. They take a topic that can be pretty dry and make it fun. I really enjoyed visiting all of the islands and talking to the performers. If you are on this island, make sure to stop by. Also, don't skip the evening show.

We did a guided tour which was a bit hectic. We couldn't take a break to eat, and the guides seemed like they needed to know where you were at all times. I would recommend doing it at your own pace. The prime rib buffet dinner was an excellent break from standard buffet fare. We also stayed to see the Breath of Life show. It was more of an interesting story than luau, but the fire knife show was spectacular!

I visited the Polynesian Cultural Center with a band group from Minnesota and I loved it. I watched the canoe pageant and visited the different island tribes and the staff were fun, funny, informative and energetic, despite the heat. We also attended the luao and again, the staff were funny and energetic. The food/buffet was also amazing. My group also saw the "Ha: Breath of Life" show and I (personally) thought it was amazing. It encorperated all the different island tribes that are highlighted throughout the center. It also featured some great acts like tens of fire sword twirlers. It was an amazing show and visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center is an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity, and I cannot wait to go back, hopefully with my own family.

Using Ambassador Prime Package
Ambassador is better if you have children and elderly companions.
If you're new, you don't have to.
It was delicious than five sherbets. Eat twice
More than six mythical religious culture stories of tribes

This was one of the highlights of our trip. We did the ambassador package and our tour guide was amazing! She is one of the kindest people I've probably ever met, she was very knowledgeable, and she was open to sharing information about herself and her connection to the Polynesian culture. Our "potato Ohana" definitely added to our overall experience. Each village's show was entertaining, funny, and informative. Finally, the evening show was fantastic, especially the fire dance.

Spent the best part of a day exploring all that the Cultural Center has to offer. If you have not done this yet - I definately recommend you plan to do so next time you are in Honolulu. We hired a car, drove ourselves to the centre and had a truly awesome and rewarding experience. Absolutely loved it.

Couldn't give a five because the heat & humidity during the HA show was unbearable! I couldn't wait for the show to end for that reason. Ceiling fans would be a wise investment, also subtitles on the screens would be helpful.

Amazing visit to the PCC on the Big Island. Take the Amabassador level luau package to have a tour with a dozen people or less. We learned a lot more with the friendly guide than we could've by wandering on our own.

Wonderful visit and so much more fun than our family of adults and teenagers was expecting. Everything was so carefully and thoughtfully done. Every person we came into contact with was genuinely kind and eager to help. We did the luau and the night show; we loved them both. It is worth every penny, you will love it!

What a great day. Enjoyed all the islands and our boys loved the hands on experience. The luau was good but food was disappointing. This was the only down fall off the day. Luckily the pork was good enough to make up for terrible buffet. Would have been 5 stars if food was good. Fire show was amazing and highlight of the day and night.

This place is great for tourist. I'm not usually into going to these places but my dad wanted to go and I ended up having a good time with everyone. We purchased the package that gave us a bus tour, PCC tour guide, dinner & show, and a night show. The bus tour was nice but it felt so rushed. I suggest going on your own if you are comfortable driving around. I would've liked to have stopped at some of the places we had to skip due to time constraints. Not the driver's fault however. Once we got to PCC we were greeted with all smiles and great customer service the entire time. The one thing I loved was most of the money goes towards the workers who are college students part of a program. The tour guide was nice but I felt like the tour itself was way too long got there around 130 and finished the tour around 5pm. We were told basically go back to everything and take pictures later after the tour. By the time the tour ended, everyone was exhausted and tired. I personally didn't want to walk all around again. Besides we an hour before dinner so we wanted to relax and get in line for the dinner since it was already backed up. I wouldn't recommend the guided tour but I can imagine it keeps things organized for them. The shows throughout the day were great - I wasn't expecting much but they were so fun/funny. I also appreciated the activities and learning about the Polynesian islands. The Luau dinner was okay, I appreciated that they had vegan-friendly options for my daughter and I. The show during the dinner was nice too. Now the night show was my favorite part! They did a great job with the storyline and the casts is amazing. Loved the fire dancers! So cool. Don't expect to take pics or videos at the night show as cameras and phones are prohibited. But I was glad, it made everyone focus on the show not on recording on their phones. I'd go back just for the day shows and the night shows.

Great service, the Tour Guides even took to remembering all our names (Out of the 30 people in our tour group !!) I learned a lot, like ukuleles are actually translated to Jumping fleas, and many different cultural dances. They had really talented dancers, singers, performers, and musicians. I can't help but admire it. They even had Tram rides for people who might not be able to walk.
Even though it costed more than $150 dollars, it was definitely worth every penny.
One of my favorite parts was when we went on a canoe ride. The tour guide (Evan) was amazing. He made great jokes, like, "Don't stand up during this ride, or you'll become a Fire Hazard. . .Because we will get fired if you fall out." And "And if you can't pronounce that foreign greetings word, then you can always say, 'hi-'" Overall he was a great guy that made the trip way more fun.
And the food was amazing!
And the scenery was beautiful!
The music was awesome!
The performances were educational. ((Now I know how to cook a pua'a (pig) Hawaiian style))
And pretty much everything about this place was great! ((Just make sure you lay the sunscreen on thick, because you're outside for a large portion of the time. (And also make sure that you alert the Tourguides at the beginning about any food allergies, and they'll take care of it.)))

PCC website didn't indicate this was a religious organization or anything about why it exists. Don't get me wrong, I love the family values. We have been to Salt Lake City and enjoyed the LDC experience. But why do they have to be sneaky about it? Be up front about who you are and why.

We got the transportation package. PCC said I would ride in luxury. This was NOT the case and it was a horrible mini bus that creaked and growned. PCC didn't indicate you would stop at Dole, or other out of the way spots which we already saw. Why didn't you tell us that on your website? On the way home we had added passengers and a full bus. It was late, I was tired, and cramped, and had to sit at the back of bus and was squished all the way home.

Also, we took a canoe ride and the young men handling the boats were very immature. Didn't appreciate not feeling all that safe getting into the boat.

That said, the canoe show was absolutely wonderful, the last show of the evening was spectacular. The luau seemed like a training ground for Ha. I would have liked a beer. I drink perhaps a beer a month, if even that. But on a hot day, it sometimes is nice. Again, you weren't truthful on who you are and of course no alcoholic beverages.

(Update: I can see this was edited before it was published. The name of the religious organiztion was removed.)

The show at night is polished and well presented. The food at the Island buffet is well done with some nice options, not fine dining, but tasty and warm. The staff is almost too friendly.. The village shows are informative and fun.

"Must See" while on Oahu. This is The Place for learning and experiencing Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders culture/heritage. Plan to spend all day visiting various "villages" and participating in the exhibits and shows. Make sure to visit the Samoa village, it is wonderfully entertaining and fun.
the Luau and show are wonderful, the best we experienced: Waikaloa Marriott on the Big Island, Sheraton on Kauai.

This is a must-see if you go to Oahu! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The villages were so informative and entertaining. The canoe show was amazing! Our guide, MicMic was awesome. The luau was great and then ending with the Ha Breath of Life show, was the very thick icing on the cake! Loved it all! Could have stayed longer. We didn't get to do everything in one day.

I came here with a Korean tour group, so my experience would obviously be different from people who came here on their own. This place is a huge tourist attraction for a reason and I would recommend coming here. However, I would recommend doing the dinner/evening show rather than the lunch/tour that our group did. If you book online over 10 days in advance from your visit, you can save 15%.

There are four dining options here: New Island Luau, Ali'I Luau, Prime Rib Dining Buffet, and Island Buffet Dining. Our group participated in the Island Buffet Dining. We were seated in their large dining area, which seats around 1K people. The description online says they serve "savory Hawaiian, Asian and mainland entrees, buffet style" with "desserts galore." LIES. The food was terribly mediocre and there was just four dessert offerings, none of which looked appetising. So I'm not a fan of the food here... but it was included in our entrance fee, so we all ate until we were full.

After lunch our group went on an approximately 2 hour long tour with a Korean guide. I had asked if I could go on the English one but it was full so they said my only option was to wander around on my own :/ Korean tour it is then! We rode on a canoe down past all seven villages (which represent the seven Polynesian islands) and then walked by, stopping a few times to either participate in an activity or see a show. We stopped in Hawaii to learn a song on the ukulele and also learn a hula dance. Then we stopped in Tonga to see their presentation on Tongan ta nafa (drumming). Three members of the audience even got to participate, which was fun to watch. The tour ended with everyone going to the IMAX theatre and watching their 14-minute video on Hawaii in 4D. That's right--the chairs will move/lean forward to make it feel like you really are going through the air and seeing different areas of the islands. It was a pretty cool video to watch.

We didn't get to see their evening show since we left afterwards, but I've heard really good things about it and would recommend seeing it if you are coming here. It's called "Ha: Breath of Life" and takes place from 7:30-9PM daily. The PCC also offers other activities during the day: Maori Poi, Canoe Race, Tahitian Spear Throw, Samoan Cooking, and Fire Making. And it's great to be able to explore the seven Polynesian islands in one place: Hawaii, Marquesas, Fiji, Tahiti, Tonga, Aotearoa (New Zealand), and Samoa. Each village has their own presentation and activities as well. I kind of wish we had come here independent of the tour group so we could have fully explored this place, but my mum and I still had a good time nonetheless. But with my not being able to understand most of what our tour guide was saying and the food being so mediocre I can't give them more than three stars...

About Polynesian Cultural Center

Polynesian Cultural Center: A Journey Through the Heart of Polynesia

The Polynesian Cultural Center is a world-renowned attraction located on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Voted as the #1 Oahu attraction, it brings to life the spirit of Polynesia through its six authentic Polynesian villages, luau, and evening show. The center is a non-profit organization that aims to preserve and promote the culture, arts, and traditions of Polynesia.

The center covers an area of 42 acres and features six different villages representing different islands in Polynesia - Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Tahiti, Aotearoa (New Zealand), and Hawaii. Each village has its own unique architecture style and cultural practices that are showcased through interactive exhibits such as canoe rides or traditional games.

One of the highlights of visiting the center is experiencing their award-winning Ali'i Luau. This traditional Hawaiian feast features an all-you-can-eat buffet with dishes like kalua pig (roasted pig), poi (taro paste), lomi salmon (salmon salad), haupia (coconut pudding) among others. The luau also includes live music performances by local artists who showcase their talents through hula dancing or playing instruments like ukulele or guitar.

After dinner at Ali'i Luau comes Ha: Breath Of Life - a spectacular evening show that tells a story about Mana - a young boy's journey to find his place in life while discovering his heritage along the way. The show features over 100 performers who dance hula or perform fire knife dances while wearing colorful costumes that represent different cultures from across Polynesia.

Apart from these main attractions at PCC there are many other activities you can enjoy during your visit such as learning how to make leis or coconut husking demonstrations which give visitors an insight into daily life in these islands.

The center also offers educational programs for students who want to learn more about Pacific Island cultures including workshops on music & dance lessons taught by professional instructors from each village.

In addition to being an amazing tourist destination for visitors from around the world PCC also serves as an important cultural institution for locals living on Oahu island where they can learn more about their own heritage while sharing it with others too!

If you're planning a trip to Hawaii then be sure not miss out on this incredible experience at PCC!
