Feedback on modernization of the Sidel mixer-saturator - 30 000 at the enterprise of JSC "Deneb"
The Sidel mixer was upgraded with a capacity of 30,000 liters per hour. At the bottling line we produce beverages such as cola, tarragon, lemonade and other drinks on sugar and sweeteners.

Before modernization, it was necessary to cool the water to obtain the necessary saturation and saturation quality, and at the same time there were difficulties with bottling, as some drinks were foaming. Modernization allowed us to saturate highly carbonated drinks with carbon dioxide, for example, "cola" at a temperature of +17 0 and pressure of CO2 in the buffer capacity of the mixer 3.9 bar. Upgraded saturator Krones, 45,000 liters per hour. After modernization, it was possible to significantly increase the temperature of aeration, working without cooling at 20 degrees. The carbonator was made to fit the dimensions, so the changeover took place quickly without a long line stop. We were looking for opportunities to save CO2 consumption for a long time, until they accidentally learned about the author's development of the Subcarb system from the Russian company Politech-Plus. This system uses a more efficient method of carbonization of the drink, in comparison with the classic injection method. The new carbonation method provides a more stable CO2 bond with the beverage, which reduces gas losses and foaming during decompression. After discussing the implementation prospects and calculating the expected economic effect, the carbonizers of two CSD Sidel lines were modernized by replacing the standard CO2 injectors with Subcarb carbonation systems.
As a result of more than six months of operation of both lines, we obtained and even exceeded the expected savings effect. The actual total consumption of CO2 decreased by 11.7% (i.e., a decrease in consumption by more than 1 g of CO2 per liter of manufactured products), in comparison with consumption before modernization. In our case, the high savings result is associated with the specifics of the design of our carbonizers, the change of which was also made on the recommendation of the Politech-Plus specialists, in parallel with the main project, which allowed us to obtain additional CO2 savings by reducing CO2 losses, as well as reducing the negative impact of these losses to the environment.

Polytech-Plus has installed a carbonation system for drinks on two high-speed Krones lines.
1. We solved the problem with the content of CO2 in carbonated drinks (there were complaints from the market that we didn t hold CO2 in drinks, that is, after you open the bottle, after 15-30 minutes you felt like you were just drinking a sweet drink), and so After installation, the problem was solved, which is very pleasing.
2. Savings on chillers (electric power), we used to use chiller installations for filling the drink, we currently just or don t turn on the chiller - we work at 20 degrees, or if it s really hot, we turn on the chiller for partial load, the result suits us .
3. CO2 savings - somewhere around 30% we are seeing savings at this time.
Thus, products manufactured with the Polytech + installation are uniquely more stable with respect to the preservation of gas in the product, and as a result, are more resistant to high temperature.
Using Polytech + it is possible to produce bottling at a higher temperature.

We upgraded Sidel CSD filling line with the capacity of 25000 bph with Politech-Plus beverage carbonation technology in our plant in Gabala, Azerbaijan. On this high-capacity line, we bottle PepsiCo drinks with standard Brix and carbonation level. We managed to achieve an ambient temperature of filling of +18oC at most of the formats at full speed of the line without foaming, except for 1-liter format at which the temperature is +15oC. Before the upgrade we had been working at +6-8oC, so to prevent foaming on the filler at the decompression phase. We turned off one chiller and are now saving on CO2 as well. The side benefit of the upgrade project is better stability of the carbonated drink and the improved level of the drink in the bottles, which is very important for us.
The upgrade took place on the filling line in operation with a normal production plan, as we made an upgrade in the middle of the season to secure considerable savings. The software engineer of Politech connected to our machine remotely and introduced necessary program changes to the Siemens controller in a couple of hours. I consider Politech+ to be a reliable and professional partner and I am open to giving the recommendations upon prior request.
