We were looking for opportunities to save CO2 cons...

We were looking for opportunities to save CO2 consumption for a long time, until they accidentally learned about the author's development of the Subcarb system from the Russian company Politech-Plus. This system uses a more efficient method of carbonization of the drink, in comparison with the classic injection method. The new carbonation method provides a more stable CO2 bond with the beverage, which reduces gas losses and foaming during decompression. After discussing the implementation prospects and calculating the expected economic effect, the carbonizers of two CSD Sidel lines were modernized by replacing the standard CO2 injectors with Subcarb carbonation systems.
As a result of more than six months of operation of both lines, we obtained and even exceeded the expected savings effect. The actual total consumption of CO2 decreased by 11.7% (i.e., a decrease in consumption by more than 1 g of CO2 per liter of manufactured products), in comparison with consumption before modernization. In our case, the high savings result is associated with the specifics of the design of our carbonizers, the change of which was also made on the recommendation of the Politech-Plus specialists, in parallel with the main project, which allowed us to obtain additional CO2 savings by reducing CO2 losses, as well as reducing the negative impact of these losses to the environment.
