Wij hebben in Javea een Podenco geadopteerd en wat een samenwerking met de shelter Apasa ...als buitenlanders hadden wij nooit gedacht... Voor de hondenliefhebbers ik verwijs jullie naar deze asiel in Javea ( schrijf je in op Podencoworld op facebook voor meer informatie) ter plek vraag naar Mike, een vrijwilliger Engelse man die zijn ziel en leven aan de dieren geeft.
Kwa papieren het gaat zo soepel om te adopteren...de shelter regeld echt alles, ook de benodige vaccins enz..je moet wel voor transport naar NL, dierenarts enz betalen ...400 euro per dier uitrekenen en terecht ze verdienen niets op een hond die geadopteerd wordt . We have good experiences with this foundation. The volunteers are passionate about the cause, are also easily accessible for additional questions after the adoption and also keep a finger on the pulse. We are very happy with our two senior Podenco ladies!

Totally unreal policy. At the beginning it was said that the dog could be home alone for a maximum of 5-6 hours (This was still to be done as a cohabiting couple of which 1 is studying and 1 is working full time). But in the end the dog may seem to be home alone for a maximum of 4 hours. This is almost impossible in today's society. This means that there are enough dogs that need a home, even too many, and only people who do not work because of an illness / disability, are unemployed or are on board who can adopt dogs.

I understand you don't want the dog to be sent back because it is disturbing the neighbors or demolishing your house for boredom, but in the case of a young couple with a house full of toys, a playmate and full evenings after those 6 hours being alone this is very unjustified. we went through the entire adoption procedure, approved the questionnaire both online and by telephone, and had a super house visit where everything was excellent, while we are waiting for the contract to be able to embrace our missing puzzle piece with the message that it is all impossible. Because the board fills out for us that we would bring her back because she was going to demolish or bark out of boredom, while having a dog with the same problems as the dog we wanted to adopt. We think it is very unfortunate that these people do not look at each situation separately, but that everything is generalized. We and our family are now going through deep sorrow as we already have all the things including special pieces (she no longer has teeth) and a necklace with a name for her in the house. They do not believe that a dog of 2.5 years can learn, even though the dog is obedient.

They do not look at what you can mean for a dog, but at that one point where you might fall short. we had lovingly given her a forever home full of love, family and attention, but at the last minute they still let you down nicely. All in all a terrible experience, unrealistic policy for today's society and unfriendly employees on the phone who refuse to look at your personal situation. I really do not recommend anyone to work with these people, the dogs certainly deserve it, but unfortunately the welfare of the dog is not paramount here. they would rather let them rot in Spain.

Podencoworld is a very good and reliable foundation. It was a bit different than usual this year, because of Corona. We had to drive to Tilburg and then wait for the dogs to arrive in a bus from Spain (normally she goes by plane from the Netherlands to Spain). If you ask a question by mail, they will answer within 1 day! Volunteers work in the shelters they work with and put the dogs on their website. Podencoworld is committed to making it run as fast as possible, and they do it with heart and soul too! Thanks also to the drivers who drove all the way from Spain here! Definitely recommended if you are looking for a shelter dog!
