Terrible terrible waitstaff, never been treated so poorly at any restaurant. Will not come back nor recommend.

This little hole in the wall has a fun and funky atmosphere. They don t totally nail the retro decor, but there are some fun elements. Made for a fun game of I-Spy with the kiddo while we waited for our food-which wasn t long. Credit where credit is due.
They did not have a kids menu which was very disappointing. No parent likes paying $10 for a plate their kid won t finish. So my daughter and I decided to split the Meat Plate and added 1 pancake. Hash browns were really good, eggs cooked perfectly and the pancake was fluffy. We didn t like the margarine used on the pancake and toast instead of real butter. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy which was the real reason we are only awarding 2 stars. A good gravy isn t hard to make....this gravy looked like it was pre-bought and had very little flavor...such a bummer!
All in all, just not worth stopping by. We wished we had just stuck with Elmer s where we knew for sure we d have a flavorful meal.
great breakfast good food nice looking place just warm and inviting. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Seattle
Positives: Waitstaff was very nice, ambience is as classic diner as it gets, food came out suspiciously quickly, coffee was drinkable, bacon was tasty if not undercooked...
Negatives: Most of my meal was inedible. You know how pancake batter has that chloriney bleachy smell until it's cooked? My pancakes tasted exactly like that smell. Had to spit it out. The texture was so rubbery, I couldn't get a knife or fork through them... Scrambled eggs tasted like balls of margarine. Cold cheddar cheese was thrown on top. Hashbrowns also tasted like nothing but margarine. Chicken fried steak had no flavor (at least it wasn't margarine). Dining area smelled like pee.
You're better off going to IHOP.
Great food, but don't go during peak hours. They can't handle the volume
Our regular little diner. I'm a little wary to share broadly because we always get a seat without wait, and the service is lovely. Classic diner fare, no frills, and they will accomodate your requests. The staff remember what you get if you go a few times, and are happy to see you.
This was a amazing..a great little diner with wonderful food.
One server with a full restaurant. Was clearly overwhelmed- we waited twice as long as we should have to get our orders taken. Server also assumed the four of us were on one check and it took forever to flag down another person to tell the server we we're paying individually. When we paid the orders were mixed up and we were charged incorrectly. What a mess! Thankfully the food was delicious, though not sure it was worth the hassle.
Its a really good old style breakfast place food is good at least for me.
Friendly staff, retro vibe. My New breakfast place.
Crowded but also a cosy familiar location. The service is very fast and customer oriented. I had brekkie with fried egg and blueberry pancakes. The portion was definitely enough for a European with a small tummy. btw. tasted delicious and was fresh and hot. Regular coffee is a little bit watery.
Service is fine, food is fine, the most mediocre place you can find. Cool bathroom though.
This is one of the coolest fingers I have been to and has awesome food
Good food, friendly service, and super fun atmosphere - a blast from the past!
Breakfast served all day long is great. Order the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, stacked! You'll get hash browns on the bottom, steak on top of that, then eggs on top of that. All smothered in country gravy.
Delicious food. Fair price for the area. Plates around 9 dollar average. Perfect portions for me and my partner. Cute atmosphere and fast and friendly service. We will definitley be stopping by again!
Parking on a Sunday was also pretty easy to find.
Found it! Planet Java Diner!!! Mmmm. Best diner in the PNW! Great vibe and food.
Joe's Special is just that. Scrambled with ground beef, onions, spinach, and parmesan cheese with the side of hash browns that are uniquely thin cut,but cooked to pefection with a crisp, not burnt crust on both sides and tender, nit mushy center! Hint of butter. Add a little zip if you need, but otherwise heavenly and is!
Great to be back!

Mom and pop diner where the entire family makes up the staff. Been around for 24 years. Must be doing something right. Really tasty food, good coffee, attentive service, and a forgiving menu that allows for any substitutions you could want. Charming decor, but could be refreshed a little.
Good food the service was fantastic. Definitely will eat there again when visiting Seattle.
Usual diner decor with usual diner food. Price is reasonable and service is good. Food was delivered quickly.
Good food, good prices, good service. I'm not much on some of their lunch options but great breakfast in pioneer square.
Hasn't changed much since we started coming here almost 20 years ago. Good service, diner food and lots of atmosphere
Cool retro 50ish feel at this place, really enjoyed their brunch. The staff were friendly and attentive. Another one of those places that makes Seattle special.
Quick service, great food, simple menu, and inexpensive! A classic traditional diner.
Cute 50's style diner with cool clocks decor and good food. Great breakfast spot and place to take out of town guests.
I love this place. Charming, off-the-beaten-path 50s diner that serves cheap American comfort food. The waitresses are really nice, and if you're a regular, they'll remember you and what you like. Usually busy, but lunch is quick and always satisfies. I'm a big fan of their club sandwiches and burgers. Many locals' favorite hidden gem.
Cute, fun, reasonably priced for the neighborhood, and surprisingly efficient service on a busy game day.
Clasic diner food, and low diner prices. Nothing exciting, but a good place to grab a quick bite.
Great food, good prices, good service, in a funky retro atmosphere.
Clean diner. Adequate food. It isn't bad, it just isn't anything special. Nice servers.
The staff is really friendly and Lisa is a blast..thanks ambience is amazing. Loved it.
This wonderful little nook open Mon-Fri 0700-1400 hours and Sat, Sun 0900-1400 hours is one of the best excuses to visit Pioneer Square in Seattle. Its run by the most wonderful attentive staff who have an eye for knick knacks and the true diner look. The hashbrowns are the best I've had in the city, the bacon as well as biscuits & gravy I've been told by my guests I take to the place is top notch. Patty will make sure you are taken care of in such a way you can't help but reward her hard work and care. I will always be a loyal customer.
Great hidden gem. Breakfast all day, sassy staff, get the Mac&Cheese bites with beef gravy!
Planet Java Diner has the best breakfast in downtown Seattle.
Great spot for breakfast. Big portions, good prices, good coffee.
Family owned and really affordable! Love the location too. A place you can become a local at, a true regular and the staff will know you by name.
Staff always is fast and attentive for how busy they always are. The longest time we have had to wait is 10 min.
While the eggs Benedict may not have been on the menu at the time, they were happy to oblige. And I was very happy with my meal.
The food was good but the service was only OK hence the rating. The atmosphere is very diner like and the bathrooms covered with graffitti which I found a turn-off.
Definitely missing this restaurant right now. Great omelettes!
Super cool vibe, coca cola memorabilia and vintage decor cool red booths and chairs with a classic diner bar seating area. so nice and comfy loved the chili cheese fries!!!
Oatmeal always on point great place for our morning meetings!!
Planet Java was full of kitschy, diner quirks like a sharp waitstaff and neon Coca-Cola signs. The breakfast was pretty solid too. Can't beat it all for the price in a big city!
Nice dinner atmosphere, fleet service, delicious food. A good selection of dishes. Price / performance perfectly fine
Love this place. Great service, and really good food.
Out of curiosity, our family and I went there for a VERY late breakfast for the first time. We'd never been before. We didn't know it was almost closing time for them but our hostess Ashley was super pleasant and accomodating. She let us know they would be closing very soon but that we were welcome to come in, grab a seat, and have a meal. Service was fast; food was hot and delicious. I ordered my hash browns extra crispy and they came to me exactly as I expected. My daughter's chicken was perfectly seasoned and moist. The only drawback was my own doing, I should have asked for "extra" gravy on my country fried steak. Thank you for the 5-star service. If you haven't been, the nostalgia alone of the diner is worth the visit, and the food is the absolute bonus!
Super friendly staff, quick service, delicious food, great coffee at Planet Java Diner.
I love this place. Patty, Ashley and Curtis are amazing. Found this place a few years ago and haven't stopped coming. My husband and I even moved across the city and still come in extra early for some great food!
Totally cute and retro little diner! Delicious breakfast and fast service.
We were seated but there was a funny smell and the place is really dated, not just retro. We did not stay to be served.
Cozy and friendly diner. The food is great and the service is just as good. You feel comfortable and cared for.
One of my favorite places in Seattle. Fantastic service, food and atmosphere.
Simple but delicious, traditional American food at a reasonable price.
Excellent diner food, fast and kind service, cool kitchy decor. Breakfast until 2pm!!
HANGOVER BRUNCH! Fun stylized diner with typical breakfast/lunch fixins.
It's a classic diner in Pioneer Square. Menu is what you would expect. It's clean, service is great, good is tasty, prices are cheap for Seattle. Cool place.
My eggs were a bit oily BUT I am rating it 5 stars because the price was the cheapest we found in the area, they really took care of us after we said we had certain food allergies. And THE SERVICE IS GREAT. I liked the way this place is decorated, reminded me of something you see in the movies.
The service staff was very nice and friendly. The hash browns we're just what they ought to be, crisp and tasty. But the coffee was just okay, and the biscuits and gravy was just disgusting. Disappointing and gross. No flavor and paste like.
Always tasty food, good service, lots of fun kitsch.
