Kitsch 50s style diner with great food and friendly staff.
Kitsch 50s style diner with great food and friendly staff.
A good early morning diner. It's going to be more pricey than your typical diner but that's because it's in downtown Seattle. Friendly staff and good food.
Food was good but nothing to write home about. But considering the price, it's a great place in the neighboroud to grab a breakfast. Plus the service was super nice !!
This place does it for me. The bill was good for how much you get. Food is like a restaurant in Louisville I loved.
So far I've only been here for breakfast, but everytime it's been a great experience!
Staff are on top of it and super friendly. Food comes out quickly and hot, not to mention it tastes amazing! This spot is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
Cute 50's style diner with cool clocks decor and good food. Great breakfast spot and place to take out of town guests.
Very good food nice family restaurant to stop and get a bite to eat have to look the address up though because you can't see it from the main streets
Really was hoping for some soup with a sandwich but they didnt have soup. Its okay the service and food was awesome.
Been here several times now. Great place to eat and bring friends to if they are looking for a fun place to eat.
Food was great server was 5 stars and hostes was good but a female busser was rude
Very traditional diner, excellent food and prices, great atmosphere.
If it wasn't for the sandwich signs, I would think that Google maps led us to the wrong place. So glad we found this gem in Pioneer Square. We had a large group of 8 for Saturday brunch and they were very accommodating. I base any breakfast place with the Chicken Fried Steak (or Biscuits and Gravy). The Chicken Fried Steak was thick with meat with a light breading. It was smothered in some fantastic gravy. The price is what surprised me.. With two eggs and hash browns $10.95 !!! WHAT !!
I think they have been there 25 years, so they know what they are doing !!
I'll keep coming back to this hidden place in Pioneer Square.
It was just great! On my list of all the things I wanted to do in America was eating out in a typical American diner. How convenient that it was just around the corner. Nice food and really nice atmosphere.
I was a regular at Planet Java for many years. Owners, Patty and Curtis are such great people! Menu has all the classics. I changed jobs and didn't get in for my regular breakfast in a year or so, but sure enough I went in and Patty STILL knew my regular order!! UNREAL! I wont stay away that long again!
You have to travel past Pluto to reach here. So you may need to warp 67.3744 light-years at most on fuel
Decent diner food downtown. Love their wraps but their fries arent the best.
It's consistent, the staff is great, and, lordy, those homemade cinnamon rolls are worth breaking my keto fast for. There are previous few full service breakfast places in Pioneer Square, and Plane Java represents well. The decor is 50s funky with lots of collectables, the prices are reasonable, and you can be in and out in less than 30, or stay for the morning. Sunday mornings are a bustle, but I've never waited to be seated.
Very nice and prompt wait staff, food and coffee was a solid average, with a knockdown for having artificial creamer on the table (never a sign of a place that takes coffee too serious, despite the restaurant name). However waitress was happy to provide real cream.
A great place for breakfast. Good dinner food with some missteps. Chorizo was old, bacon was overcooked, little sausage in the gravy for biscuits and gravy. But a big part of the draw is the eclectic location with strange clocks everywhere. Good fun once in a while.
Great little diner. Easy to miss down a side road. Our best breakfast in Seattle. Worth seeking out.
They have great diner food, but the service is quite slow. The atmosphere is fun and they have lots of interesting decorations. Friendly staff too!
Great, fast service. Food was fresh, fabulous and staff was incredibly friendly.
The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly! Would definitely eat there again.
Great food good price chicken fried steak and eggs coffee under $15
Awesome service, big breakfasts, decent prices, open on sundays.
I'd give this place 5 stars but out of principal this perfect dive diner gets 4.
I love, love, LOVE this restaurant. It is absolutely fantastically delightful. The food is divine and the staff is so very attentive and friendly. I would visit this restaurant every day of my life if I could... The coffee was yummy and the pancakes were sweet as can be. 10/10 would recommend.
Great staff, comfy food, reasonable price, cozy decor.
This place is incredible. Great menu. Great staff. Go check it out!
We were seated but there was a funny smell and the place is really dated, not just retro. We did not stay to be served.
My girlfriend and I loved our brunch here! The country fried steak with biscuit on the side was exceptional. The pancakes, eggs and sausage links were very good too. The staff was super kind and made it feel like we were regulars.
The very definition of a unique Original Classic Diner, ...the decor probably hasn't changed in many years, if ever! Old fashioned, stick-to-your-ribs diner food like bacon, eggs, homemade hash browns, biscuits and gravy, scramblers, pancakes, burgers and fries...mmmmm!!! Friendly staff, reasonable prices, a little tricky to find, but don't give up, a WONDERFUL find...enjoy!
Really happy with this super clean diner. Family owned and operated, great food, good coffee, excellent service!
Classic diner. For some reason it seems many of the lunch patrons have gross body odor like unwashed clothes. Lots of developer dudes
Love the quick service. Prices are decent and coffee is awesome.
Short walk to pioneer square from downtown. Food was good, really fast! Coffee was ok. Local artist works all around as well as various clocks. Cute diner feel.
Consistently good food for breakfast and lunch. The chicken fried steak is great, and they have tots available as a potato substitution all day. Efficient service and fun decor.
Great cozy , yet family friendly.Great food & portions.
We were first lost then we heard about this place it was amazing service is awsome there super nice and the milkshakes are awsome and the food is amazing
A fun little diner that brings you back to the 60s and 70s. The Nostalgia along with the great food really makes you feel warm. Tons of options with no limit to your imagination.
A cute little diner around the corner from the main drag in Seattle. Very warm, inviting atmosphere. The food was bountiful and delicious! Definitely good food for the price, considering it s downtown.
I liked the aesthetics of the place a lot. The staff were alright. The bathroom was a bit dark, but the food is the main thing right? I originally took a video so heres a screen shot of the food. I got their signature burger, which is just a cheddar bacon burger. The patty is bigger than your average take out place and I would say just as big if not bigger than any of the burger joints around U District (and I've tried them all in the last 2 years as a UW student). They say they press the patties daily and I can believe it. The fries... I was sceptical about the fries because I have eaten in a lot of diners and a lot of the old ones on the east coast, where im from, have these same type and they are ALL flavorless and salt won't even stick to them, BUTTTTTT these fries were actually seasoned and none of the little ones were rock hard. They were actually pretty good. I would eat here again and try other things, and make sure the fries were my side again.
After stumping upon one of there signs on the corner a coworker and I gave the place a try for lunch. The food was very good to excellent, the decor fit the place and the staff was very friendly.
Looks like next time the family is in town it will be on the shortlist for places to grab breakfast or lunch.
Breakfast all day long? Thank you very much :). Service can be slow at times when it gets busy. Still worth it.
I love this place, great food at reasonable prices.
Yum! Good ol diner food at its best! It's a hidden gem.
A classic, american-style, diner with no-nonsense food and lots of clocks on the wall. Service is fast and friendly, the price is a little higher than most diners, but understandable given the location. The fact that every clock in the restaurant seems to tell a different time may cause an irrational sense of irritation.
I've come to this diner at least 10 times in the past year by myself, with family, friends etc... Everyone loves it! The food is great and well priced - $30 with tip for two LARGE breakfast orders and coffee. Hard to beat that price in downtown Seattle. I'd leave 6 stars if I could...
Great place to eat not a dig fancy place just good food and good people like a dinner nack home stop in and see for yourself
Always hit Planet Java for breakfast when I'm in Seattle
Food was okay, but the servers were reluctant at best. I asked for coffee after waiting for quite awhile, and the response was an angry wait a minute with a finger, (index not the other one) But after 10 more minutes of waiting I gave up and we left.
We loved it. They were very quick to reserve a space for our party of 11, we had fast friendly service, good food and all for a very resonable price. We will be back again when we visit Seattle. Make sure you check out the bathrooms, I was told they were very entertaining.
Great food. Very Funky! The place fills up quickly for breakfast so either get there as they open or expect a short wait for a table. WORTH IT! YUMMMMM!
Love how it looked inside... the old time fashion look. And it had really good food. Check it out if in Seattle!
Back to the fifties diner. Excellent menu , good service ,friendly staff. The prices were reasonable. Try it you will like it .
Absolutely loved this joint for breakfast while visiting Seattle. Friendly staff. Casual dive diner vibe with tasty food and large portions.
It was my go to breakfast joint when in Seattle. Good casual atmosphere and great hash. Two thumbs up.
phenomenal food, service and owners. definitely my new favorite spot in town.
A favorite place for breakfast. Great hashbrowns and biscuits.
We found this hidden gem by accident and so glad we did! Best chicken fried steak EVER. We loved the food and the service was awesome
Just your average, awesome Diner breakfast with excellent service.
Awesome atmosphere and pretty good prices. Good food as well
Standard diner fare. It s ok, but nothing to get excited about. Will solve your hunger. Prices were reasonable yet side prices don t make sense. You can add up side items to make a dish and they can come out slightly cheaper than the whole entree.
Also - hands down the worse biscuits and gravy I have every had. I am from the south so am picky. Just was milky/pasty, not flavorful at all. Bland, even there was a little bit of sausage in them.
Please don't come here as a tourist without an eye to local history. Diner food just like at home, but not. You are in Seattle, close to Pioneer Square.
Really cool place with good food and exactly the atmosphere you d expect from a Seattle diner.
Meh. My co-workers like going here, but I'm not wowed by any means. It's just a diner.
Simple food, reasonably priced, easy place to slide in and grab a bite.
Great speed on bringing food to us. The special for the day was very delicious and well cooked. The waiters were friendly. God bless them and God bless you reading this. I do recommend this place.
Great food and even better staff....Sounders match staple!
Great diner in the heart of Pioneer Square. Still family run!
This is the most convenient spot for Sunday brunch - simple and good. During Seahawks season the wait is a little longer but they don't forget to refill your coffee. We had a little credit card mishap but it was settled in a friendly way once a paper bank statement was shown.
