If it wasn't for the sandwich signs, I would think that Google maps led us to the wrong place. So glad we found this gem in Pioneer Square. We had a large group of 8 for Saturday brunch and they were very accommodating. I base any breakfast place with the Chicken Fried Steak (or Biscuits and Gravy). The Chicken Fried Steak was thick with meat with a light breading. It was smothered in some fantastic gravy. The price is what surprised me.. With two eggs and hash browns $10.95 !!! WHAT !!
I think they have been there 25 years, so they know what they are doing !!
I'll keep coming back to this hidden place in Pioneer Square.

It was just great! On my list of all the things I wanted to do in America was eating out in a typical American diner. How convenient that it was just around the corner. Nice food and really nice atmosphere.

I was a regular at Planet Java for many years. Owners, Patty and Curtis are such great people! Menu has all the classics. I changed jobs and didn't get in for my regular breakfast in a year or so, but sure enough I went in and Patty STILL knew my regular order!! UNREAL! I wont stay away that long again!

It's consistent, the staff is great, and, lordy, those homemade cinnamon rolls are worth breaking my keto fast for. There are previous few full service breakfast places in Pioneer Square, and Plane Java represents well. The decor is 50s funky with lots of collectables, the prices are reasonable, and you can be in and out in less than 30, or stay for the morning. Sunday mornings are a bustle, but I've never waited to be seated.

Very nice and prompt wait staff, food and coffee was a solid average, with a knockdown for having artificial creamer on the table (never a sign of a place that takes coffee too serious, despite the restaurant name). However waitress was happy to provide real cream.

A great place for breakfast. Good dinner food with some missteps. Chorizo was old, bacon was overcooked, little sausage in the gravy for biscuits and gravy. But a big part of the draw is the eclectic location with strange clocks everywhere. Good fun once in a while.

I love, love, LOVE this restaurant. It is absolutely fantastically delightful. The food is divine and the staff is so very attentive and friendly. I would visit this restaurant every day of my life if I could... The coffee was yummy and the pancakes were sweet as can be. 10/10 would recommend.

My girlfriend and I loved our brunch here! The country fried steak with biscuit on the side was exceptional. The pancakes, eggs and sausage links were very good too. The staff was super kind and made it feel like we were regulars.

The very definition of a unique Original Classic Diner, ...the decor probably hasn't changed in many years, if ever! Old fashioned, stick-to-your-ribs diner food like bacon, eggs, homemade hash browns, biscuits and gravy, scramblers, pancakes, burgers and fries...mmmmm!!! Friendly staff, reasonable prices, a little tricky to find, but don't give up, a WONDERFUL find...enjoy!

A cute little diner around the corner from the main drag in Seattle. Very warm, inviting atmosphere. The food was bountiful and delicious! Definitely good food for the price, considering it s downtown.

I liked the aesthetics of the place a lot. The staff were alright. The bathroom was a bit dark, but the food is the main thing right? I originally took a video so heres a screen shot of the food. I got their signature burger, which is just a cheddar bacon burger. The patty is bigger than your average take out place and I would say just as big if not bigger than any of the burger joints around U District (and I've tried them all in the last 2 years as a UW student). They say they press the patties daily and I can believe it. The fries... I was sceptical about the fries because I have eaten in a lot of diners and a lot of the old ones on the east coast, where im from, have these same type and they are ALL flavorless and salt won't even stick to them, BUTTTTTT these fries were actually seasoned and none of the little ones were rock hard. They were actually pretty good. I would eat here again and try other things, and make sure the fries were my side again.

After stumping upon one of there signs on the corner a coworker and I gave the place a try for lunch. The food was very good to excellent, the decor fit the place and the staff was very friendly.

Looks like next time the family is in town it will be on the shortlist for places to grab breakfast or lunch.

A classic, american-style, diner with no-nonsense food and lots of clocks on the wall. Service is fast and friendly, the price is a little higher than most diners, but understandable given the location. The fact that every clock in the restaurant seems to tell a different time may cause an irrational sense of irritation.

I've come to this diner at least 10 times in the past year by myself, with family, friends etc... Everyone loves it! The food is great and well priced - $30 with tip for two LARGE breakfast orders and coffee. Hard to beat that price in downtown Seattle. I'd leave 6 stars if I could...

Food was okay, but the servers were reluctant at best. I asked for coffee after waiting for quite awhile, and the response was an angry wait a minute with a finger, (index not the other one) But after 10 more minutes of waiting I gave up and we left.

We loved it. They were very quick to reserve a space for our party of 11, we had fast friendly service, good food and all for a very resonable price. We will be back again when we visit Seattle. Make sure you check out the bathrooms, I was told they were very entertaining.

Standard diner fare. It s ok, but nothing to get excited about. Will solve your hunger. Prices were reasonable yet side prices don t make sense. You can add up side items to make a dish and they can come out slightly cheaper than the whole entree.
Also - hands down the worse biscuits and gravy I have every had. I am from the south so am picky. Just was milky/pasty, not flavorful at all. Bland, even there was a little bit of sausage in them.

Great speed on bringing food to us. The special for the day was very delicious and well cooked. The waiters were friendly. God bless them and God bless you reading this. I do recommend this place.

This is the most convenient spot for Sunday brunch - simple and good. During Seahawks season the wait is a little longer but they don't forget to refill your coffee. We had a little credit card mishap but it was settled in a friendly way once a paper bank statement was shown.
