Great stop on a family vacation, fresh fish right off the boat.
This is a full blown harbor with fishing boats and yachts. Located in beautiful half moon bay. There is an awesome trail to walk along the waterfront. If you're in the area also check out the half moon brewery which has great micro brews. Parking is pay. Dogs are allowed on leash only.
Absolutely love going here.. stop for a bite at ketch of Joannes or Barbs then off to the Mavericks.. Ketch of Joanne's is dog friendly if you eat out side . Clean restrooms by the pier and at the pier you can buy fresh fish right off the boat .
An eager seal awaiting some fish from the fishermen!
Great restaurants and place to buy fresh caught fish
Great place to drop your boat. It s what is expected for a ramp. There are six open places to drop your boat.
The line can be long or not.
Watch out at low tide.
Come on down on a nice day and tour the fisherman's pier, see the crab boats and yachts in the harbor. Plenty of wildlife as this is all part of Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary: sea lions, seals, littoral creatures and birds, etc. Frequent whale sightings! Several places to eat nearby, plus Maverick's Surf Shop and HMB kayak rental. If you're bringing your boat, call the harbormaster for slip availability - easy marina to access, just watch the shoals before the breakwater. Marine fuel and pumpout (remember this is a marine sanctuary!) available. Markets within walking distance; check out the new Spangler's.
Lots of great food, and catch of the day right off the docked boats.
Such a beautiful place to visit I've always just passed by it going to Half Moon Bay this time I took the time to enjoy
Harbor for recreational and commercial boats (mostly fishing). It can be fun to walk the piers and buy from the fishermen right from the dock!
Best place to buy live crab from those fishing boat
I must say I was very disappointed tonight. My family and i have had a long standing tradition of night fishing in this harbor for more than 30 years. Our mom recently passed away and we went out there to honor her memory as she used to camp out there and it was her favorite place. The harbor master was always cool about us fishing and hanging out on the pier all night. Well tonight there was a rookie harbor master who actually came out and told us we have to pack up and leave. It wasn't even 10 at night. If memory serves me right, it is a public pier and does not close. Pillar Point is a very special place in our hearts and we were so sad to be told to cut our celebration of the life of our mom, grandma, comadre and friend. Times sure are changing......
Love going here to pick up fresh seafood to make Cioppino and 2 last weekend we went onto the docks to grab freshly caught crabs. Great working with the hardworking fishermen. Its a tough life catching crabs in such a shortened season. Support your local fishermen.
A great place to sight see, eat/drink or jump on a charter boat and catch some rock cod or salmon.
Fresh fish direct from catchers boats, beautiful small-town harbour
A .ice place to experience the ocean life, sea food etc. Plenty of parking. Enough space for larger rv. The place is very crowded on weekends. There seems to be rv parking long term in some of the spots in the back
Love Love Love this place
Food family friends
My Auntie birthday we had luch there. I loved it good food and I love the ocean. JUST BEAUTIFUL. HALFMOON BAY.GREAT PLACES TO VIST.
Found parking easily, easy access to crab boats, good prices, bring cash.
Beautiful place to walk and enjoy the ocean breeze and harbor eats!
Beautiful surroundings, great restaurants. Best seen on a motorcycle.
Great spot for everything example Sea Food Restaurant, Sports Fishing Trips, Kayak Renting , fishing pier access, beach access hiking and biking .
Been coming here for years. All kinds of places to walk to for food. Great bike path. The docks are a good place to walk. If you bring an ice chest, you can buy fish and crab right off the boat. Brew pub and other fun stuff close by.
A great place for all. Scenery, nice beach for kids, pet friendly.
Good quiet fishing spot with bathrooms and food nearby. Easy to stay here all day!
Went to Jeff Clark's this morning. Got me a bright red Maverick's tee shirt and a decal for one of my tool boxes. I'll show you L8R. Too kewl.
Quint and homely. Smells of fish and crab like an authentic harbor :)
Great place to walk , explore and teach your family about marine life, conservation and just simply enjoy a day making memories
Wonderful little place to get freshly caught fish. The resurants around the area have great food as well
Very interesting and well laid out. Seems pretty organized. Would love to see a museum area for old shipping items and perhaps even some urban legends or stories old/new regarding fishing, industry or the people.
Accessible enjoyable people are friendly great place to visit and shop for fresh fish or seafood
Awesome place. You may need to pay for parking if officers are available there. Worth it
If you want the freshest crabs, Pillar Point Harbor is the place to go.
A cool place to spend a few hours if you like boats and/or seafood
The fish is fresh when you go to the docks and purchases it right off the boats
Awesome location, great food, great drinks. Favorite harbor.
Great harbor.... Easy to get slips..... And good food near by..
The scenery is beautiful and the crab sandwich with great
A great place to visit and explore while touring the coast.
Beautiful view. Interesting light house. It will be good when it has been renovated and you can walk thru it.
A nice harbor that has a lot of fisherman offering fresh crab and cod. Most everyone was giving an $8 per pound price on crab but if you really look or talk a good game you can get a little better price.
Dungeoness crabs sold here fresh off the fishing boats. Doesn't get fresher than this. Pair the crabs with the coastal hike nearby to work off the inevitable calories.
Beautiful place and theres a great seafood resturaunt. The pier/dock gets crowded at times. The harbor is always full with boats. Sometimes you might be lucky enough to see schools of mackerel and anchovies in the harbor.
Kyaking, or just sight seeing at the pier, local bars, clam chowder at one of the local restaurants, just a lot of fun for family and friends (did I mention great beers on tap).
People are nice, and the area has great restaurants, hotels, and a nice harbor.
Some restaurants need a deep cleaning inside.......just sayin'.....
This harbor is obviously scenic and beautiful but offers opportunities to join the people there whether you're buying the freshest fish right off the boats and chatting with the people who catch it or having a terrific meal from restaurants where the fishermen eat.
The harbor is a great place to kayak and paddle board. The beach is clean and the water is fairly calm. Fish either jetty for a variety of rockfish and surf perch, use squid, shrimp and anchovies for bait. This is one of my favorite places to kick back and relax. Aloha = )
I like cycling there are. There are beautiful and good trail for kids too
Picked up fresh live Crab, Blue Rock Fish and Orange Rock Fish straight from the boats. Sat at the little restaurant on the corner and had some ceviche with fresh chips and clam chowder. Turned out to be such a nice day!
What a beautiful place with great local reasturants!
