Very good shoreline and beach for hiking, specially at low tide. Just some time parking not enough.
Love PPH for lunch, dinner, walking the dog and kiddos. Such a special place....magical really. If you love seafood and surfing this is the PERFECT place to stop coastside. Start at Jeff Clark's Maverick's surf shop. Always find a ton of gifts and personal beachy, surf related items there. Super cool spot, thoughtfully curated. Then have lunch at Ketch & Joanne's, eat outside then get an ice cream and walk around the pier. Princeton Landing Seafood is the final stop when yiu want to take the freshest right off the boat seafood home. Can't go wrong cruising around PPH. Just go. Anytime of year.

I have always enjoyed Halfmoon Bay. We were there to get live Dungeness crabs. Unfortunately we arrived too late. We did obtain four local red crabs which although they are smaller are equally delicious.
Its a great little harbor right in half Moon Bay, with a solid fishing history and the supporting community. I love coming here to fish commercially.
Regardless if weather, I love Princeton. It s an easy access adventure for the whole family, dogs too. Great place to catch a sunset or enjoy a break from the inland heat. Walk on a beach, rent a kayak, great restaurant options, or buy something fresh off the dock to take home. One of the last places I know of where you can hear a fog horn.

Interesting with a lot of boats - some sell fresh caught fish.
Great atmosphere, working fishing port. Local fishermen sell their daily catch from docked boats - can't get much fresher than that. Seals are regular visitors as well. Barbara's Fish Trap, further down the road, serves a very tasty clam chowder. Highly recommended.

Pillar Point Harbor is an excellent place to visit while in the vicinity of Half Moon Bay, CA! There's a broad selection of restaurants to pick from. All of the places I've eaten at have an extensive seafood menu and the food is consistently wonderfully tasty! The harbor also has a very large fishing pier that's open to the public! This is a must visit location for tourists and locals alike!

Most day's you can find a buy of fresh fish or crab right off the boat's..
This is the spot to go to when it s crab season. Sure it might cost a little more than the supermarkets, but the freshness alone is worth it. The crabs are always tastier from the source and you can walk around the area to absorb the scenery.
Enjoy the facilities, staff, location. Can't brag enough about the personnel.
Great weekend drive in the Bay Area! Get there early to avoid the traffic coming in!

Beautiful scenery. A few great restaurants. The merchant boats are organized and usually have a few different species for sale.
Always a beautiful place to visit. Nostalgic Beach area with nice shops and cafes.
I like watching the boats here and seeing what's going on. However it's gotten crowded on weekends. Buy fish from the boats and take them over to the fish market side entrance and pay a few dollars to have them cleaned and filleted. I'm glad this place exists.
Nice place to stop and look at small boats. You can let your dog sniff around too. Usually plenty of free parking. Several good fish & chip places.
Great working harbor, has a local car show 1st Thursday of the month.
It's a beautiful Harbor. It has a couple lovely Restaurants and a nice pier you can walk on. I had calamary and fish-and-chips and you can't get anything more fresh right from the water to the table. I highly recommend that you go to pillar point Harbor.
Peaceful and quiet. Nice place for a walk or fishing or water sports. Buying seafood fresh off the boat is popular on Saturday.
Now that all three ramps are open it's easy to launch with no congestion.

A great harbour experience!!! Fresh catches of the day can be purchased from the local fisherman, a great pier to wander and check out the boats. For boaters the docks are a little run down, and there are some pretty rough boats, but it has its charm. The anchorage is amazing and best of all free, once you get used to the fog horn.

Rv's, kyaking, various restaurants, bike path and a beautiful beach clean and cook fish is permitted here.

CLEAN SAFE ENVIRONMENT. I LOVE to come here with my family to go crabbing off the Pier and eat fresh fish n chips at the beach. The reason I call it clean and safe is because there's always someone from fish and game patrolling and cleaning up. I appreciate how kind and helpful they are. Really beautiful place to be.
