One of the best research medical institution in India. State of the art super speciality hospital and world renowned for various treatments. Is heavily crowded as it's a Government hospital but the treatment is very good.
I am not sure how many will read and take my this post seriously but still I would like to share my bitter experience with most renowned Hospital #PGIChandigarh and Nobel profession of #Medical , which by the way is no more than just a money game now a days.
On Tuesday i.e 26th Aug. 2014 my dad (who stays in Jalandhar) went to #PGIChandigarh (Advanced eye center) for eye check up, as he was running late, so he left hospital without buying the medicine prescribed by Dr. from PGI, keeping in mind that he will purchase same from Jalandhar but after having 2 days complete search, he called me up to look for these medicines in Chandigarh as he couldn't get those in Jalandhar. I along with my cousin and a friend started a hunt and explored almost every chemist and medical store in Chandigarh and Mohali for the prescribed medicine but failed to succeed.
Luckily one #Chemist (who was friend) disclosed that it was a CODE written on prescription instead of medicines name (This code was not the medicine code but was a setting between the chemist and the doctor for commission) and we had to approach to same PGI Chandigarh OPD medical store if we need to buy these, the fact was not acceptable but when we approached to that OPD medical store, we were stunned to see that it was true. The first girl, we had to approach on counter was decoding all prescriptions and writing actual names of medicines before forwarding the same to store helpers.
Finally I got the medicine but this whole episode really disturbed us to the core. Is this what we call Medical is a Nobel Profession ???? Dr.s are Life Savers ????. What if it would have been some life saver medicine????? It might cost someone LIFE. We have to raise voice against such inhuman practice being run openly in such a reputed institute like #PGIChandigarh. Though I am exploring how I can contribute in benefit of society by initiating something against this practice, I would also need your suggestions, plz share your views and suggestions.

Good facilities when compare to other PGI in the region, but not better than GMCH 32 CHD
Terrible is the word. Its emergency ward is a place where you would find it difficult to distinguish between the ward boys and the doctors, they all act aloof and are not approachable. They treat patient with contempt and utter disrespect. Unless you don t have a better option don t bother going there. You would waste your time, the patient would suffer and you would feel helpless and humiliated each time you would come in contact with the hospital staff.

another view is that some doctors cheat and fraud with patients they suggest to you to for tests and medicines from their agents . and these agents play with you for money . plz be careful.
Its a very huge hospital with all kinds of doctors and patients. Its huge but still its packed with people everywhere. The crowd here is very cosmopolitan. you ll see very poor patients as well as wealthy. Mostly its visited by people from j&k punjab himachal orrisa assam bihar up etc. So overall you can gauge the level of heathcare provided by govt of india from this place. we need hundreds of these hospitals but govt made only one.

The founders of the institute are Tulsi Das, Santokh Singh Anand, P N Chuttani, B N Aikat, Sant Ram Dhall and Bala Krishna.

Worst experience ever, for a small disease doctors will ask at least 10 tests and will make sure that you should come to PGI for 4 months, they pretend so busy that do not give proper time, all are like earning money and doing nothing. Finally fed up. Do not go there. It is getting worst day by day.

ms dilon had done my acl surgery. But my leg still pain after 2 year. Facilities are poor and you had to wait for hours to check up. OPD need to improve a lot. Doctor never check you again.Doctor changes every time.
Its King of Hospitals. No private run shopkeeper hospitals come anyway near PGIMER. Only one thing is stopping people to get treatment here is volume of patients. Doctors and Nursing officers at PGIMER are GOD'S ANGELS. They are experts in their fields. Private Shopkeeper Doctors are no way near them.... what ever any body says. When shopkeepers fail they always refer patients to this premier Hospital, so its best to refer PGIMER well in advance... I think u got what i mean to say...
