Petland, Inc Review

My poor puppy! I bought him 4 weeks ago and brought him to their recommended vet and was informed he needed antibiotics for cough an vomiting, told wait 10 days then come back for a checkup. Well the antibiotics didn't work. The next vet that was in the day I took him back for a follow up informed me that my pup might have pneumonia but wanted to try a 2nd stronger antibiotic. I called them 4 days later telling them he wasn't improving. I was informed to wait the remaining days (medication would be finished this monday 10/21 and his 3rd follow up visit was on the following Saturday). Well his condition worsened and I brought him in on Monday 10/21. He had lost more weight and continued to vomit everything refused water and food. The vet informed me they were going to take x-rays. After the x-rays and without having a professional review them they decided to give him a shot for a 3rd antibiotic. I was called the next day and was informed that the antibiotic given should not have been given without a confirmation of the xray and that the antibiotics given were not going to do anything and a culture was needed but because of the antibiotic given we would need to wait 2 weeks to be able to get a culture. I told them my puppy is refusing to eat and vomits his water. The vet said there was nothing they could do. I ended up rushing my puppy to the emergency vet hospital and explained everything. They were baffled why they hadn't done intravenous fluids or even recommended bringing him to the emergency vet. My puppy was immediately put into an oxygen tank and started on fluids. He now has a 3 day stay at the hospital to try to help his pneumonia. I now have incurred emergency vet Bill's because their recommended veterinarian couldn't help my puppy. I will be calling and forwarding my emergency vet Bill's to petland. My puppy ended up having to be euthanized, he was only 19 weeks old.

I had an appointment to purchase a puppy from the pet land in Henderson NV. As I was driving to the appt they called to say they sold the puppy. I went there and asked them why they made an appointment if they were going to sell the puppy. The sales manager and the general manager approached and were nasty as hell. Both power hungry and said they don t answer to anyone. I saw an ad for the Las Vegas Petland and shared my experience on FB and she explained that they were independent. Then some nasty person jumped in and said thanks for the evaluation. Glad we didn t waste out time. What kind of customer service is that? I want to find who owns the Henderson NV petland. Thank you

Petland is just a widespread puppy mill! DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PETS FROM ANY PETLAND LOCATION! They are poorly cared for, often sick, and the staff is instructed to lie to customers about the condition of the animals they sell. PLEASE ADOPT AND DO NOT SHOP, PUT PETLAND OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!

Horrible service, rude associate, tried to rob us for ($5000) for italian greyhound. Bought 3 in the past several years, the most was $2300. Caged had way too many puppies. Whole operation looked chaotic. Feel terrible for puppies.

I tried calling ahead before going into the the pet shop, I was rudely left on hold the whole time while we were on are way there. Got to the mall, walk into the petland while still on hold. I asked one of the associates, which was a young man, what was the usual wait time when calling them? The associate (the young man) said nomore then 2 or 3 minutes, well, I was on hold for 30 minutes and still was on hold while talking to the only associate that help me and my son. The supervisor nor the manager did not assist, in that matters, Very poor customer service, and to top it off the Bullmastiff we wanted to buy was $2,700.00, I wouldn't never spend that type of money with a company that treat their customers like that...

Very upset will be contacting corporate in the morning, looked online which said closes at 8 pm also called the store to double check which an associate told me 8pm, I drove all the way across town (45mins) got there at7:20pm and the doors were locked an associate came out and told me they were closed and was very rude when I assured her it was only 7:20pm. This was very inconvenient and I will no longer be using this store unless things are made right. And I encourage other people to do the same.

I am currently trying to get ahold the owner of the vineyard Petland because he or she keeps dodging me . I was sold a pet with a hereditary disease and he needed many checks up with the vet and even two trips to the emergency room. The managers and owner does not care about my family s pain and suffering as we had to watch our little Maltese die from a liver disease that was hereditary. We watched him have seizures go blind. Watch out for pet land they are selling pets that have hereditary diseases. Even in their policy it shows that the pet has a 3 year warranty ( which I have all the paperwork for). The people are friendly and I go here regularly and have never seen a problem with the animals nor have I ever had a problem out of any of the animals I've gotten from them so I don't know what everyone else is talking about but everyone has their own experience differently I would recommend going to petland myself and the financing is NOT a rip off

Should be banned from selling puppies and should just sell products

They wanted $6000 for a border collie! Yes 6K! The puppies are kept in horrible conditions and small cages some are isolated from others. I don t See how all of them find good loving homes on the asinine pricing and from my understanding a lot of the puppies come with health issues. Investigating these puppies are also mill puppies.

They treat their Zebra Finches like dirt. here are so many birds in the cage that some are stressed and plucking their own feathers out to the point that they are bleeding.

Thank goodness I rescued my puppy ! She would have died if I wouldn't have gotten her. So many issues! She is 3 weeks younger than told and sick !

I would give Petland stores zero stars if I could. I got a ferret from the Knoxville store and told the girl that I needed a female ferret. She told me that I had 30 days to take it back. She sold me a male ferret. I called and they refused to take the ferret back and refund me my money because it had been 9 days and you were only allowed 7. I asked to speak with the manager and the manager said, "I don't know what you're talking about, nobody from our store would say that. So, no we will not take the ferret back." She had a few other "choice words". I simply told her that people can misspeak and that both me and my dad and a few other people had heard her say it was 30 days. The girl that waited on me was named Emily and was a younger girl. Please do not give Petland your business and be cheated like I was. I wasted my hard earned money and my time at this store and I have never been treated so badly in my life. There is no excuse for people to treat their customers so badly.

Buying a puppy from Petland forces the mom to produce more inventory. The mom is living in horrible conditions. Adopt from a rescue or shelter.

The tried to sell me a Labrador Retriever(Puppy #23607) which according to Tony the salesman was AKC registered. I put a deposit for the dog but they told me that the puppy could not go home with me yet because the vet had to give it it final approval as that was part of the regular process to make sure all puppies are healthy. The next day I came to find out that the puppy had Kennel Cough and was on antibiotics and thus the reason we could not bring her home yet. This already raised a red flag because they never mentioned anything about no cough the previous day. After I looked at all the paperwork while my kids and wife played with the puppy on the 2nd day I noticed that the breeder's info was there so I decided to call and the lady picked up the phone fine and identified herself but as soon as I mentioned I wanted to get some information about the pups parents she pretended to not be able to hear me and hung up the phone, never to pick up again. Then I decided to search for the Alleged AKC registry number on the AKC site and it was then I learned the dogs are actually registered with America's Pet Registry(APRI) which is a known puppy mill registry organization. I called APRI and of course they denied any possibility of obtaining information about the bloodline. I honestly should have known something was wrong when the sales team was easily persuaded into lowering the puppies selling price from $3050 to $2500 the previous day without me making much of an effort.
After having realized all these lies from Petland Kennesaw I called to let them know that I no longer wanted the puppy and they denied the possibility of me being able to get a refund for my deposit, Yes it is true the paper I signed says deposits are non-refundable but one is not to assume that they are deceiving you in order to sell you a dog. I will be communicating with their corporate office about this issue. The associate's response to my concerns over the phone simply where "Oh wow, I'm so sorry" when I asked to speak with a manager I was told they were not in the store at the time.

Shame on Petland and shame on the people who work there for playing bait and switch on customers.

Later that same day I found a local Labrador breeder with available puppies for $1700.00 and with actual AKC registration. So folks, don't be fooled by the stores, go to the breeders.

They sold us a sick bearded dragon came in the next day I got told that they would exchange it for me so I came back with the bearded dragon the next day for them to tell me there was nothing they could do because i didn t buy the $200 tank and that it was our fault that it was sick but the bearded dragon was acting like that before we got home with it the manager was super rude and when we was leaving he started talking to another manager saying that we shouldn t own a bearded dragon! I ll never buy an animal from that location again

I was saddened to see them lying without blankets or pads how cruel at miller lane store Dayton Ohio but at least they have a chance for Life how cruel we are at times within humanity.

I bought a Quaker about 6 months ago and the bird became immediately attached to my special needs son. 5 days ago, my son went in to check on her and he noticed something was not right. He brought her out to me and we both watched as she settled down in the crook of his arm and died. The previous day she was all normal then the next day dead. When I called the store, the manager said he could look up the problems with Quaker parrots and call me back, I guess he thought I was not smart enough to do that myself. He did offer to give me $100 off my next bird---JERK

I went in looking at a dog. Was told by one staff member that my monthly payments would be $24 for the dog. I went ahead and filled out an application for credit and left the store to do other shopping. When I came back in for the puppy I asked several times what my payment would be because I was suspicious that the payment would really only be $24. I was not told this information or the total price of the dog until I was handed the receipt to sign with the total price being $4800! I asked right there at the register if it was too late to change my mind and was told that I would only receive half the money credited back to the petland credit card. At this point I felt like I had no choice, pay $4800 for a dog, or 2400 for nothing so I continued to sign. Even though I had asked to cancel before papers were signed and was told I would not be eligible for a full refund and obviously didn t take possession of the dog and definitely did not leave the store with the dog I was only eligible for half refund. After requesting to speak to a manager and not being allowed to do so bc there was no manager in the building I left the dog there and walked out with that short trip to petland costing me over $2000. I have never been so appalled at the ethics of this whole situation. I am a responsible adult and have never experienced anything like this before. So far cooperate is investigating but I will never step foot in another petland.

DO NOT GET THE FINANCING ITS RIP OFF!!! And they will not cancel it after 48 hours

I had an issue with one of the stores and owner of that store. I called corporate to see if they could handle the situation and I cannot get a hold of anyone and I have left many voicemails. How can a company treat a customer that way. I will never be returning.

Went in with my mother and she was approached by a employee who boldly told her in a fully packed store with around 15-20 people that she needed to leave because they had a picture of her stealing in a prior visit. My mother was very embarrassed of being accused of stealing so we got the police involved. They wouldn't show the photo to either us or the police.
Wont be returning anytime soon
