In the place of the stronghold in the 14th century, Barmin III built today's Pomeranian Dukes' Castle. The duke's stronghold was built on the headland of the escarpment on the Oder. The castle was the seat of the Griffins, the dynasty of Pomeranian dukes. The current form is the result of post-war reconstruction. Not really my atmosphere, but nevertheless I think that the stronghold is worth visiting. During a visit to Szczecin, it is a must-see on the agenda.

The castle from the mid-fourteenth century is a real rarity for travelers. It is true that it is often difficult to get there by car, because the parking lots are a tragedy. But everything is downhill already. Guides and a nice arrangement of rooms. Everything accurately described and explained. A place worth recommending.

An interesting place German historical castle until 1945. Polish today and meeting of cultures. An excellent and relaxed atmosphere. A city, very close to Berlin, to visit and enjoy. The treatment of the population abroad is very friendly. Change euros to zloties before everything. Good prices.

The building was very pretty, but the urban architect turned out to be totally ignorant, allowing it to be completely covered with residential buildings. The scene in the courtyard is disgusted and diminishes its beauty.

Fantastic place, after renovation it is one of the most interesting buildings in Szczecin. It is worth taking a look at exhibitions that are systematically organized, the opera at the castle also has its own flavor, and anyone who wants to see non-commercial cinema and bypass the crowds and the rustle of papers will find them in the cinema at the castle. Place Surrounded by a lot of atmospheric pubs and good restaurants where after a good screening you can also satisfy your hunger.

This could be an extra place, but unfortunately one of the largest castles in Poland is almost empty. Little is happening here. The crypt, exhibition, concert is really too little and people will not attract. The castle should live life also with stalls, painters, artists. You need cafes, souvenir stands and all this tourist infrastructure.

MUZEUM Zamek Książąt Pomorskich, also known as the Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes, is a stunning Renaissance castle located on Zamkowe Hill in Szczecin, Poland. The castle is situated near the Oder River and was once the historical residence of the Gryfita family. Today, it serves as a museum that showcases various exhibitions and collections that highlight the rich history and culture of Szczecin.
The castle was built in 1346 by Duke Barnim III as a fortress to protect against invaders. Over time, it underwent several renovations and expansions under different rulers until it became what we see today - an impressive structure with beautiful architecture that reflects its rich history.
One of the most notable features of MUZEUM Zamek Książąt Pomorskich is its grand courtyard which boasts an impressive fountain at its center. The courtyard is surrounded by beautiful arcades adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures that add to its charm.
Inside the castle are numerous exhibition halls where visitors can explore various collections showcasing art, history, culture, science, and technology. One such exhibition hall is dedicated to showcasing medieval art from Pomerania while another highlights contemporary art from local artists.
The museum also houses an extensive collection of weapons dating back to medieval times along with other artifacts such as coins, ceramics, glassware among others. Visitors can learn about how these items were used during different periods in history through interactive displays and exhibits.
Apart from exhibitions inside MUZEUM Zamek Książąt Pomorskich itself there are also guided tours available for visitors who want to learn more about this magnificent structure's past or explore nearby attractions like St James Cathedral or National Museum Szczecin which are just a short walk away.
In addition to being a popular tourist destination for those interested in Polish history or architecture enthusiasts alike MUZEUM Zamek Książąt Pomorskich has become increasingly popular among students studying subjects like Art History or Archaeology due to its extensive collection of artifacts spanning centuries worth exploring!
