Fantastic service from start to finish. Although my home needed a little extra plumbing to get the job done they were fair with the pricing and did the work correctly the first time. As a technical engineer who spent 3 years in remediation and filtration, water-softeners and their installation are not the black-boxes that they are to many. The aspect of Peterson that most struck me is that they were both (accurately) knowledgeable about the product they sell, responsive without being aggressive, and very professional with the installation, while still being overall cheaper than me buying the parts and doing it myself. They compare very favorably with their competition in the twin cities metro area. Take the sales pitches from the major companies with a BIG grain of salt (Culligan, Kinetico, or EcoWater) Don't take my word for it: do your own research. Then decide to go with a Fleck system from Peterson.
I have worked with Peterson Salt several times and can recommend them to anyone looking for softener services. We recently purchased a system with them and had issues with it functioning correctly (bad unit from the factory) and working with them to get it resolved was a breeze. They were very responsive and arrived when they said they would, more importantly they listened to our concerns and worked with us to resolve the issue. Would not hesitate to call them in the future for repair and service.

Everyone I deal with, whether in person or on the phone, is friendly, courteous and respectful -- and their prices for both salt delivery and service/repair are very good. PLUS they have a choice of sizes of bags of salt - so we now get the smaller 25 lb bags, just perfect for those of us who aren't spring chickens anymore!!!
When we moved into our house many years ago we bought a new softener from a different company (large well-known name starts with "C") and had them deliver salt, but their service was awful and their prices were so high! We started hauling our own salt (not fun -- 40 lbs is a lot!) for a few years, but when we needed repair a few years ago we wanted to find a smaller, local company, and thankfully, we found Peterson Salt! We have been happy ever since. I really like the way they do business!
I found this company online when searching for a local Fleck dealer, and I stopped in on Friday afternoon hoping to pick up a screw and bracket needed to complete a weekend project (an online company sent the wrong part) for a friend who lives hours away out of town. They went out of their way to find the small part for me, and had a tech meet me back at their shop at a predetermined time to pick up the part. I've liked Fleck water softening systems for years, and now have a local dealer I can trust and recommend for them.
AJ did a great job and answered all the questions I had. I will recommend Peterson and AJ to the people who are looking for water softener purchase and RO system installation.

I called Peterson Salt & Water to inquire about a new softener system. We had an existing system in the home that was less than a year old, but it was causing problems with salt in the water and I assumed we wouldn't be able to find a company to service an existing system due to the need for specific parts, warranty concerns, etc. I spoke with Tom and he had us on schedule within the same week. He didn't try to up-sell at all - simply stated they could likely fix the existing system, given its newer age. AJ came out to look at everything, and provided excellent education and customer service. Everyone involved was prompt, professional, and we're now enjoying soft water again. I'm not even sure what to say. After confirming my delivery, it never showed up. About a week later I emailed asking what happened and got no response. I sent one more email a few weeks after that and this is the response I got. So I had a delivery scheduled, they said their truck broke down but didn't notify me as such (that the delivery would be delayed), and then didn't bother to deliver on a different day? And they couldn't include even a minor apology? I've never written a bad review for anyone, but this is messed up. Frankly quite bizarre. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.
Very helpful staff and great prices. There's no reason to shop around when they provide such good products and service. Culligan and Kinetico will charge you more than 2x what Peterson charges but you get a superior product with Peterson.
Installation of reverse osmosis filtered drinking water system and counter top faucet. Customer service was excellent giving answers to questions. Installer was very professional and nice and explained everything we needed to know.

When my Culligan softener sprung a leak and they said it would be a week and a half before they could send someone to even look at it (for a $150 charge) to determine whether it could even be repaired, I called Peterson and they came out within 48 hours to replace the entire thing with a new Fleck.

Peterson installed a water softener at my house recently. Their prices are very reasonable and they also had the most helpful staff of any of the companies I contacted. I accepted their bid on a Wednesday and they were able to schedule the job for Saturday morning of that same week! I would recommend them to a friend.

Peterson was very helpful in giving us advice on our water softener when we moved into a new house and knew nothing about them. They made sure our softener was working properly and tested our water for us, and have been our go-to place for buying salt. At the point that we're ready to make the leap for a better and more efficient softener, Peterson is who we'll go to.
Additionally, when we needed snow removal in the winter, their lawn service did a great job at a fantastic price.

I called around and spoke with five different water treatment companies.
I wanted a new unit that would last. The disposable units at the Big Box stores last 4-5 years. Tom answered all of my questions and concerns and they sell high quality units that are built to last. That is exactly what we were looking for in a new water softener. Their installer AJ came out today and installed the new unit, hauled away the old unit and showed me how to operate it. AJ was very professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about his products.
