Haven't been here in 12 years when the original owner was running the show. The place was amazing then. I realize that it wasn't a gourmet restaurant but for a fast food joint, it was 5 stars. A single burger patty back then was bigger than the tiny double patty you get now and had plenty more flavour. Ended up with undercooked fries and yellow lettuce (things happen). Not a bad place to go to now but it's showed me that the new owners don't have any pride in the quality and value of the original Peter's Drive-In. 3 stars for ok food and a good milkshake. R.I.P. Peters Drive In is worth a visit just for the experience. The food is okay but they tend to mess up the orders. I m unsure of what they consider a single cheeseburger, since mine came with two burgers and my husband who ordered a double cheeseburger for an extra $2, also got two burgers but they forgot his cheese. Milkshakes are good, but very thick so be sure to grab a spoon.

Only having 1 Peter's in Calgary is a good thing, It makes it a treat when you go! Love the milkshakes, my ride or die is Choco, with coconut & marshmallow. Burgers are awesome, love that it's a messy eat!

I have heard great things about this burger joint but on Saturday I went there and there weren t any Mask Wearing City By Law Signs . They had long lineups of customers who were not distancing and not wearing masks. This was very frightening sight as Peter s Drive In is not taking COVID-19 seriously.

I'm all over their milkshakes, as someone who isn't a big fan of them it's saying a lot. The food is pretty good but kinda standard to fast food. The atmosphere there at night is bizzare, but not unpleasant, hard to explain you would have to go there yourself.

Best drive in burger joint around! Been around as long as any one I've asked can remember. Good soul food and the milkshakes are the best in all of Calgary. You can even blend and customize flavors, choices endless!

Went for milkshakes after not having been here for a year or so (only thing worth getting since the burgers and fries have been disgusting for years now) and they were revolting and runny. Dunno if it was an off day for them or what, but we won't be back.

I had a regular burger and onion rings with a mango and pineapple and coconut milkshake; all of it was fantastic! The. Shake was, bar none, the best I've had.
Peters' Drive-In is most definitely be on my "must visit again" list.

I wish peters could go back to how it was a few years ago. Last time I came here the food just wasn't the same as it was when I was younger (early to mid 2000s), from what I'm aware of the guy who owned it sold it, and in my opinion it's gone down hill since. The portion sizing is HUGE!!! Great value for money, word of advice if this is your first visit, a large fries here is WAY bigger than a McDonald's large fries, order with caution. The poutine is meh. Milkshakes are great! Tones of flavour combos and totally yum, however very thick so be prepared for a cheek workout. Burgers are really where it's gone downhill the most IMO, but still pretty good for fast food. The hardest part about this place is the lack of parking if you want to walk in, and the drive in line up gets CRAZY! word of advice, try and park the street behind if you can. I'm mixed because being a local, peters used to be so special and has so many great memories, but I just find they have gone downhill in the last few years.

We try to stop here on our trips to Calgary. They are extremely generous with their portions, and the food is tasty. This is not gourmet fair, but very good for the price. We never leave hungry. There can be incredibly long lineups, but don't let that worry you. The staff are extremely efficient and orders are processed quickly. Their milkshakes are among the best we have had.

Parked in their lot, bought some food which was decent, but then decided to get additional food at a neighboring establishment that took less than 15 minutes. Came back to a parking ticket for "unauthorized parking on private property" from the City.
Wow. Absolutely disrespectful to your customers.
I do not recommend coming here.

Must-visit place for Calgary. You won't find milkshakes like this anywhere else, and for the price of $5.25 it's a steal especially compared to other drink places, such a bubble tea, that can cost up to $7 or $8. Id highly reccomend their onion rings, very crispy and given generously. Their burgers aren't for everyone though; in my opinion they taste good however they do have the consistency of a sloppy joe. Not much crunch, lots of sauce. After coming here many times, I'd reccomend to try a combo milkshake of Oreo, Bubblegum, and marshmallow.

The thing that annoys me most, Double cheese burger. Hence the name in "DOUBLE CHEESE" see where I'm going with this? The burger I received is a single cheese with 2 burgers? That's called being cheap. You need to step up your game.

When its busy, the cashiers/order takers are very impolite and rude. I understand it is busy and stressful, but you should still be polite and not yelling at people for not hearing their order number. You could tell people were getting annoyed by the rudeness. Food is always hot and cooked through though.

It was better under old management but still worth the trip as it is a treat. Nearly an endless variety of shakes to try. Fries like crack - and of course the burgers are good. I have skipped when the line is ridiculous but it can be very much worth the wait.

I tried this place upon reccomendation that it was a Calgary essential if you were looking for a great burger. I didnt really find that to be the case. The patties seemed like they came from the same frozen box that your high school cafeteria got theres from. I will say that the place itself has a cool vintage look and if you want a metric ton of fries or onion rings on the cheap yhen this is your spot but if your expecting any sort of from scratch family recipe that competes with your families best grillmaster than look elsewhere.

This is Calgary's gem of a retro burger drive thru. What a time warp. Best in the summer when you can sit in the picnic area adjacent to it. I love how they have a driver side drive thru (right) and a passenger side drive thru (left). I ate 2 cheeseburgers, onion rings, and a strawberry shake this last time. Woke up the next morning and I was still full (^o^)

I heard about this place online and finally went there and they had the milkshakes I ever had, they completely blow any competition out of the water! Wish I could go every single day but unfortunately I live 2 far away.

This place was ok. The burgers were fine, but I wish their fries were frozen. They added a bit too much mustard on my burger for my liking. Will I go here again? Not sure, I rate this as a fast food joint. Quick and easy, can't be expecting too much. I do like you can eat in their parking area next door.

My first ever drive in burger joint. Love the out door seating area. The burger was good. The poutine and milkshake were just ok. Nice to visit one of Calgary's treasured hot spots.

The milkshakes are really good and you can mix up to 3 flavors. I've had better burgers but if your getting one make sure you ask for the optional lettuce and tomato otherwise its pretty plain.

Peter's Drive-In has legendary status in Calgary but I don't get it. If you grew up in Calgary, you probably have fond memories of going here as a kid but kids aren't great judges of quality. The burgers are barely average, the shakes are okay and the fries are bland and soggy. The poutine is a meal unto itself or should be shared between a few people but it isn't very good so I wouldn't bother. Peter's is okay and everyone should go at least once, just don't expect too much.
