Very good milkshakes, and so many flavours, plus great food
The milkshakes are still awesome but the burgers have gone way down hill. The bun was so soggy it almost made me gag.
Bad quality fries, veggie burger - 1 star for its milkshake
Sooooo good. Milkshakes are sooooo yummy. Burgers are good and onion rings are so delicious.
A Calgary institution, the milkshakes are the best in the city, the burgers and buns are always fresh, the staff are great at meeting the customers demands which goes a long way for picky folks. Thanks Peter's.
Helpful staff member let is low they don't have a veggie burger of any kind. Otherwise great milk shakes and fries!
The shakes are great, food is good, but the atmosphere is what you go for
Lots of milkshake flavours, I haven't tried them all but the ones I've had have always been great. The burgers are great too!
Beautiful milkshakes and burgers for really cheap !!!
Heard so much about this place, it wasn't worth the long wait times. The burgers and fries where average the shake was above average.
Great milkshakes. Thats why you're here, dont lie to me.
It was pretty busy but still found parking, milk shakes are amazing.
Born and raised in Calgary and I had never tried Peters, let me tell you what......I sure was missing out! Amazing customer service as well!
Fun, family and really decent milkshakes..can't beat this place for sunny day visit. Corvettes, station wagons, convertibles, motorcycles & vintage cars. All ages and stages. Try the onion rings. Large portions are generous enough for sharing.
Best milkshakes in town. Usually busy, but the wait is worth it.
Place has history. Always a good visit. Sometimes making the order is the hardest part as the people taking the order sometimes have a hard time.
the original burger feom 50 years ago much bigger..and saucier.
ask for extra sauce for burgers...fries too pricey. need smaller portion fries.
Can't go wrong with this Calgary classic. Always craving their milkshakes!
Who doesn't like Peters'? It's the best. Try their milkshakes and you will never drive by without driving in.
Very disappointed, used to be a killer fast food joint back in the day. Since the new owners the fries are frozen and over cooked. No flavour to the special sauce . Hot dogs look like they were cooked 2 days ago and the milk shakes are nothing great.
Will not be back, don t jack your prices and then cut quality.
Since my teenage years, I have been told Peters' Drive-In is the place to go when passing through Calgary. It's not. Well, if you're impressed by a couple of flavorless hamburger patties smothered in condiments (heaviest on the relish), by all means, this really *is* the place to go. Seriously, in my opinion, even Burger King and I don't like Burger King is a better choice than Peters' Drive-In. At least once a decade, I seem to forget I wasn't impressed the last time(s) so I either decide to give it another try or I'm travelling with someone who convinces me to go. This time, the guy doing the convincing was equally unimpressed, seemingly realizing he'd fallen for the hype and deceived himself for five plus decades. Hopefully, having written this review will help me to avoid repeating this mistake. ... For those who think I've missed something, no, the milkshakes are not worth the hype either.
Terrible Parking (watch out for City of Calgary Parking Giving You Tickets)
Pretty good burgers, lines are pretty bad though. Milkshakes are deadly.
Excellent milk shakes, huge orders of fries. If you are looking for a hamburger you better like BBQ sauce as the burgers come absolutely covered in the stuff so much that you will likely get some on your clothes. The buns become a soggy mess.
Just as great as the first time i had it 30 years ago
Milk shakes are great. I recommend the blackberry and Oreo or Mango Coconut.
Great milk shakes and huge french fry orders but the old school burgers are not as good as they used to be in this now very competitive market
It's too bad they changed the coke to Pepsi and change the fries cuz they're bloody horrible
10/10 would recommend. I eat here everytime I'm in Calgary. And I live there. Jk I don't. But if I did I would
Great onion rings, fantastic milkshakes. Burgers are a classic.
Service is fast for how busy this place constantly is and the food is great. Sometimes the burgers can be put together quite sloppy though.
Classic Place. A must when visiting Calgary. Shakes are the best
Great place for a quick bite nothing to fancy milkshakes is alright but you could mix it up if you like.
We have been going to Peter's for nearly 40 years but tonight was our last time of going there. We were so disappointed in the quality of the food. The fries were worse than a bag of cheap frozen ones. I could make better my self from that same bag. The burgers were nothing but a bit of onion and two very thin patties. We have noticed that the quality has gone down over the last few years but thought we would give them a try as it is a tradition we go in around this time of year but never again. Thanks goes to Gus Peters for lots of good memories but no more.
A great place for a burger and a shake. Fantastic selection of flavours.
The fries have not been great since they changed but the shakes are still the same.
You just have to go to Peters when you visit Calgary!
Good burgers, shakes, onion rings a must stop for a quick bite when traveling through the city.
Only tried their milkshakes but they're amazing. They have a million flavours and you can mix up to 3. Great place
Just moved to Calgary, so I thought I'd give Peter's a try since everyone raved about it.
Everything tasted fine, but wasn't anything special. I was grossed out by how big the portions were.
I ordered a single burger (where they accidentally gave me a double), onion rings, and a coke.
I threw probably half of it away because there was so much.
Anyway, later that evening, I was sicker than a dog, throwing up the whole night.
The only other thing I had was a coffee after I ate there, so I'm sure it must of been bad meat from the burger.
If I ever go again (not by my own choice) I will only get a milkshake
Awesome Icecream. Its been long time i had such good creamy ice cream.
Best burgers in Calgary. Awsome variety of shakes and unreal sized french fries portions! Bring your appetite.
Ok milkshakes and ok burgers. The milkshakes are what keeps this place going but are getting worse over the years
Ordered custom burger too a long time but tasted GREAT!!!
Not a legend.. not even sure what the other reviewers are thinking.
Yes there is some nostalgia factor - I'll be the first to admit that. Peters is a long held Calgary establishment. The kicker is that, in 2005, the place was bought by a new owner and the quality plummeted. As much as it pains me to say it, it is now one of the absolute worst burgers in the city. The patties are overcooked and spongy, soggy buns, sloppy sauce, overall bad tasting. The fries are bland and greasy. The onion rings are soggy. It just isn't the place it used to be.
As for the shakes.. I think they are still one of the better milkshakes in the city IF ultra-thick is your preference. Just don't get the burger.. and don't believe the hype. It's all nostalgia that is no longer substantiated by any quality. And it really sucks to say that.
So good and so many different flavours of thick milk shakes.
I dont know if its just me but i think the quality of peters drive in gas gone down over the past 10 years ...dose not taste the way it use too
Adequate burgers, sub-par fries, descent milkshahes
10/10 made me came so many buckets people mistook me for a cow
The food has gone down in quality since it became a chain.
Miss the good ol Peter's from back in the day. They've changed a lot but its still good.
Milkshakes are still top quality.
I love Peter's. Is it the best food ever? No. But does that matter? I don't think so. The food still tastes great, it's all large portions, easy enough to share. The milkshakes are probably the best part. Sure, everyone has milkshakes, but few places have such a massive selection to choose from, not to mention being able to get 3 all together in an interesting combo for the same price as a regular milkshake. Definitely recommend it, great place for kids or in the summer as well.
We were frequent customers of Peter's, getting their family fries with gravy and shakes as a family treat at least once a fortnite. One evening after lining up for 30min we were informed they are out of family fries... Wanting to know more detail, I asked to speak to the manager, who said they are out of containers (not actual fries) so they cannot serve family fries. Also, suggested to purchase 6 portions of small fries (I don't think I have to calculate the cost of that) - like they couldn't just put the family size fries in a different container...
It was busy that night so they tried to get rid of me asap, asking the next person in line for their order while I was still there - very disrespectful.
After all the years leaving them business I unfortunately discovered they don't care about your custom or loyalty, money is all they care about. Never went there since...
Milkshake awesome. Bun was soggy. Maybe they should toast buns first
There is just nothing quite as good as Peters' sauce on their burgers!!
The wait is long as usual but worth it and a great value, family of 4 can eat for $40.
You wanna good calgarian hotdog or burger? This is the place! Nice location.
Apparently I am late to the party of getting hooked on Peter's Drive-In burger, hotdog and milkshake. It's definitely a must visit if you're in Calgary either on vacation or you've live here. Make sure you try the Peters special sauce on your orders also. The prices are pocket friendly for what you get in delicious meals. It's primarily a drive-in but a parking lot beside it has benches to sit and enjoy your bites if that's what you want. Pls note the wait times could be a few minutes due to the traffic it attract, especially on weekends. Cheers!
Worth the wait. Fries and shakes are pretty great. Burgers have unique sauce makes them a great signature to this location
Not entirely sure why people like this place other than it's been there for years... the burgers suck... they're the most processed burger ever and it's never changed since I was a kid... oh wait... they got more expensive. Yes you can get a variety of good shakes. But the drive in is not the nostalgic drive ins of the past....
