Drive in no table service. But all the hamburger made to order and the shakes are thick and chocolate like childhood memory. Too my understanding this is a Calgary institution and it is worth the claim.

Five star milkshakes mix up to 3 flavors, food has been hit and miss in recent history. Peter's serves quality food but I have gotten undercooked fries and cold onion rings, which is one of my favorites to order, family fries can feed a lot of people sometimes there are some left over I bake the next day to be extra crispy.

I would consider this place as one of my worst fast food experiences..I wish I can put no stars. Went to this place to get quick food after a long drive from Edmonton, the moment we parked in front of the store these 2 old ladies just started glaring at us for no apparent reason. Then when I went to order I asked nicely how their menu works like their milkshakes for example, the lady started raising her voice and giving me attitude. Food was below average, their food is trash and overpriced. Don t go to this place to get burgers, sides, or hotdogs. Just go to your nearest A&W.

Only heard good things about it for the last 10 years, brought my son to the zoo for his first time and decided to finally try it.
What a serious let down, the burger could barely be called beef, more like a McDonald's sausage patty. The poutine was mediocre at best, Fries were bland, gravy tasted like clubhouse and the cheese was non-existent.
The milkshake was the only saving grace. And even then it was like they added 2 cups of sugar to their ice cream.
Anywho, won't go back and can't see why the place gets so much hype.

Peters Drive-In is pure and simple beauty, it s completely unrefined and honest goodness, it s awesome!

I love this place, its values and the delicious treats they offer. Where many businesses are constantly changing and evolving to keep up to date with emerging trends Peters follows a different path, they do the same thing and choose not to change. Since opening in 1964 they ve maintained the same standard of delivering persistent and consistent quality, using the best ingredients, providing great customer service and running a clean/sanitary operation. It may seem old fashioned but it works, Peters sets its own precedent of if it ain t broke, don t fix it . People come to Peters for fresh home-style burgers, old-fashioned 100% beef hot dogs, natural fries and onion rings cooked in clean 100% pure canola oil and last but certainly not least, their milkshakes and ice cream made with real ice cream and fruit! MMMM Delicious! My most recent visit was an Oreo/Chocolate milkshake, just one of over 4,500 flavor combinations you can make here!

This is what you can expect from Peters , no less, no more, simplicity at its absolute best. If you want a crazy burger with all the fixings and specialty ingredients: look elsewhere. If you want a shake with the latest trendy super fruits: look elsewhere. You won t find anything new and fancy here, and the second you do, you ll also find a business that isn t the Peters people line up for daily. Did you know they even sold a record breaking 4,000 shakes in one day? When was the last time you heard of the new trendy restaurant doing something like that. Exactly

So why mess with a good thing? Peters Drive-In is perfect the way it is! There s been some changes like the recent introduction of debit (lol ), but they still only take on what s necessary without changing the core business and their quality commitment. They re making a pretty bold move with the opening of a second location in Red Deer, something they ve previously avoided doing like the plague. It should be interesting, but I don t think people will be worried about them selling-out and mass-franchising for more money quite yet. This is never something the original owner Gus Pieters wanted. That being said I doubt there will be too much uproar about the Red Deer location, I actually hope it s well received and I don t doubt it will be. So next time you re driving by The Drive-In You Can t Drive By , stop by and grab a shake, lets cheers to tradition!

Every time we are in the north end of the city we stop by.
Fav milkshake is blackberry + raspberry+ lime.
Their burgers are yummy, and I love their onion rings. Super fast service as always, and generally happy staff. Sometimes a little frazzled, but who wouldn't be with how busy they can get?? This past summer we made an order for around 20 people and they got it perfect. They do their thing well.

That's a good reason Peter's has been around for as long as they have. A simple menu, good food, and the milkshakes are probably the highlight here. This place has remained largely unchanged for as long as I can remember. It can get busy during peak hours, so don't expect a quick drive thru experience.

I would agree with the positive reviews if they were from 20 years ago. Yes the portions appear massive. But basic shoe string fries, the hamburger patty is reminiscent of McD's. The only good thing they seem to have retained is the milkshake. I used to come here a long time ago but haven't been back since before management changed, and it wasn't a good change. I should have followed my gut instinct and just driven away because by the time I was done at the order board I was so frustrated by "Is that all?" in poorly spoken english. Save your money for Five Guys or if your lookin for classic Calgary head up 14 st to Northmount drive and check out CB Drive Inn. Won't be back Pete, thanks for ruining good memories.

Oh man! Shakes that are tall and thick, tasty burgers, mile-deep "small" fries, friendly staff and quick as lightning service. A stopover at Peters' is well worth your time. Get it on the go or stick around and enjoy it in the sun. 5 outta 5, every time!

I'm third generation born and raised in Calgary, and this place tastes like home. Cause and effect? Perhaps. The burgers and their special relish sauce haven't changed (in a good way!) and service is always fast and super-friendly. Try the pineapple shake - if you're not afraid to attempt to get giant fruit chunks up a straw. Peter's is a beloved tradition in my family for all these reasons and more.

Not one employee was wearing gloves. Even the cooks handling the hamburgers. Would highly expect gloves in these times with this pandemic but even if there wasn t Covid they should be wearing gloves. Gross.

My family and I very much enjoy Peter s except during this pandemic the lines have become insane. They have closed the windows and only allow drive thru. If they added social distancing lines and opened the windows again, people wouldn t have to wait 30-45min minimum just to order their food.
