Haven't been here in years decided to stop and grab a bite since i hadn't eaten anything yet that day. Got the worst food poisoning of my life from their burger!! Relentless throwing up for 8+ hours. Did some research and they have a high history in food poisoning. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Went to Peter's drive in after living in Calgary for 4 years and hearing so much about this place. I must say I was really disappointed.. It was such an average burger. It didn't even match to a boxed frozen patty burger available at a superstore. It was cold, the cheese was like plastic( it never got a chance to melt on that cold patty), and the bun soggy.
The fries were limp and bland. I was just wondering what the hype was all about!?
Such a waste of money..

Great!

Just wondering how that is the only restaurant in town to get so way without a cash register for tax purposes. I was in the restaurant business for 25 years and we could not in any way to get away without a registered to keep track of our sales. someone is paying off somebody big time.

Soooooo gooood and open until late! Lots of options for milkshake flavours. Their milkshake are thicker than your regular milkshake though.
Burgers are soo good too. Huge serving. Try their Peter's sauce.
There's usually a line up whether through walk-in or drive-thru (it's that popular!), but wait is usually just about 10 minutes max. (when it's crazy busy)

The milkshakes are delicious and the food is okay but the line ups are out of hand. We had to wait 35 minutes in the drivethru line - also important to note that once you re in the drivethru lineup there is no getting out of it. You are stuck until you get to the window.

We've been to the Calgary location many times...always been good food and great shakes. Today was disgusting!! The milkshakes were sour..gut wrenching sour! One was chocolate/banana and the other was chocolate/marshmallow. I really hope that no one else got sick. Shouldn't even give a one star for this.

So delicious! Burgers are massive and a small fries can be shared and the portions are just giant. The milkshakes are the best part! So tasty. I love the old fashioned feel of the place.

Pretty pretty good. Tasty and has an extra half of a patty on each burger. Plus it has a pokestops located on site. So if you play Pokemon Go. Grab a burger and catch some Pokemon at the same time. Perhaps take over a gym as well. Good stuff.

This place is never not busy. The drive thru line ups sometimes wrap back around onto 16th ave. The line up moves fairly quick though which is good.

The milkshakes are excellent with up to 4500 flavour combos. The burgers are good but the fries are pretty mediocre.

Burgers were so so; the patty and bun could be found at your everyday grocery store and put together at home. The fries were of the shoestring variety and were not particularly crispy. The milk shakes were pretty good as you could mix flavours - I did Oreo marshmallow and it was delicious. The onion rings were seasoned well and better than most.

Great Milkshakes.

Great Milkshakes.
30 different flavors. Nice and thick, the kind that is hard to drink thru the straw.
Fast service.

The milkshake was great, until I got to the bottom of my milkshake and found some kind of plastic and rubber stopper from the machine in the bottom of my cup. The meal was the worst I've ever had. The hamburger bun was wet and soggy, and the onion rings were dripping grease. I won't go back.

Used to be awesome but has been under new management for the last few years. Burger Buns used to be really good but now they are really bad. I only go here because my son still likes the place. Last time I went with my son we were missing a burger when we got home.

I really don't get the appeal of this place. First, there is a lady at the front when you go to pay through the drive-thru that is VERY rude and standoffish -- She is terrible!! She was rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing over us wanting to change the toppings of our burgers -- We didn't mind if she couldn't make the change but man, even just asking, the lady just lost her cool. Next the burgers, whether fresh or not are terrible. The patties are super thin and tasteless. The buns both times we went were stale, cheese not even melted, and the burgers are served drowning in their peters sauce almost to hide the fact you are eating a tasteless burger - Overall just terrible burger. We got the poutine which has 'ok' fries, not the best, fresh but just not the best flavour -- They taste of oil to me, gravy is tasteless -- Cheeee curds are good but overall it's a terrible poutine, very tasteless. Shakes are pretty good -- I still like five guys better but if you like a good thick shake to the point you can't suck it out and may blow a few blood vessels trying to drink it, go here to get your shakes then. Again shakes are about the best thing about this place, and I still think there are better. Five guys makes a better burger, better fries and a better shake in my opinion. And if you have ever been to an, In and Out burger in the states, you know what a real fast food burger should taste like, this is for sure not it!

I used to be so enamoured with Peters , but lately there s been a lot more competition for good quality burgers, and this classic Drive-In just isn t keeping up.

On what will likely be my last visit for quite some time, I was particularly famished, and opted to order a double cheeseburger, rather than a single. Upon arriving home, I compared mine to my dining partner s, and discovered that a single cheeseburger is 1.5 patties, and a double is 2; for an extra $1.30 that felt like quite a rip-off. Could have been a prep error, but was still pretty disappointing. If I m going to wait 30+ min for a burger, I m going to do so waiting for something higher-end.

Can t beat the milkshakes though, that ll be what ultimately gets me back, I just know it.

Peter's is a classic. Always recommended when in Calgary. The portion sizes are huge so we always end up just ordering our own burgers and splitting fries or onion rings. Milkshakes are awesome too.

As they say, it is a really busy establishment, we went around 6 and waiting in line for about a half hour. The burger was enjoyed by the girlfriend, but i did not. It felt undercooked, not as grilled as i liked it. The gravy was pretty soupy so it made for a sorta gross poutine. But the milkshake was great and the idea of making there own fries was great. I will try the establishment again maybe in a less busy time to give it another shot. They do need to revamp the drive through window to make it look a little nicer as well

The burgers are awesome! I've been a fan all my life, Calgary born and raised I am. There was a period where ownership changed hands and things weren't quite the same for a bit but that's long gone and love eating there when I can.
